Really awesome except the video learning experience...it's not optimized, can't make it full screen, couldn't pause, it didn't keep track of where I was so I had to restart from the beginning several... See more

It’s perfect 🩷 everything a mum needs for her baby to help introduce foods and how to transition from purée to actual solid food. This is my second time around using it. Definitely a necessity! I use it almost everyday!

Very well structured app, easy to find everything, really nice recipes ! And good overview of the first foods, ... In general very helpful if you have your first child and you feel a bit lost in the beginning when you start solids

The app is super user friendly and informative. I often use it to enhance my baby’s diet by encouraging a new food and ensuring I am preparing it appropriately for their age. As an occupational therapist and mom of two, it’s my favorite tool in my toolbox, I recommend it to all my friends!

I feel like the meal plan that I paid for is a waste of money. I am having to pick the foods and I can’t seem to navigate it well. Why did I pay if I am planning the meals?

Reply from Solid Starts
Every time I open the app I get the same message, no allergens. Not sure why this always comes up. Also, it’s not very intuitive. It’s hard to navigate adding new foods to try. I’m not sure the price is worth what you get in the app. I do appreciate the food list and ideas on how to serve foods.

The information on the app is really great. Some of the articles take you to a website that doesn’t really work, and then you have to pay an additional fee to access those articles. Had I known that some of the information that I thought I was paying for on the app would be stored somewhere else and cost more, it would have significantly affected my decision. I would not have purchased this this app. I don’t see much of a difference between this app and the website which I could use for free.

I paid for the subscription and then the app keeps freezing and needs to be closed and opened again. very frustrating, i only have so much time in a day with an infant.
edit: I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app now, it still does it. it seems specifically when i scroll by the videos in “how to serve”
edit again: they’ve helped me get it working now, thank you!

My baby has food allergies (detectes since being breastfed) there is no way to add them. The app keeps suggesting i feed her foods with her known allergens.

There are definitely some adjustments needed. For instance, I’ve tracked eggs multiple times but allergen introduced shows not tried. Annoying to have to duplicate the work.

The app is really spotty. In the last week it simply fails to load. Also, I feel like there is great information but the instructions/ guide could be way more clear.

Straightforward - gives a number of options how to present different foods at a variety of ages. Really love the tracking with comments too

Really takes the anxiety out of introducing food to baby. The meal plan is also extra helpful for tired parents

American terminology and I’d love a plan of how to start at the very start!!!!

Honestly it’s a fantastic app. I tried the free 7-day trial because it was free and I had nothing to lose. But there is SO much more functionality behind the paywall I don’t think they do a good enough job at showing how much you can get. I can track my babies food and it’s great. I would say that I’ve only given 4* because sometimes it’s a little bit laggy when you try and input the food and I have to restart the app. But overall really happy I paid for it 100% worth the investment and it’s made it even more exciting for me to try new foods with them.

The app functionality is not user friendly and there are a lot of bugs, including latency issues and other problems with content loading. It’s very difficult to add multiple foods to the tracker and you cannot easily edit your entries. I wish that the foods were personalized or listed by what my baby recently ate or frequently eats, instead of some random static list. I also wish that I could create my own custom “meals” and add those to her daily tracker instead of manually adding individual ingredients, which takes too long. The list of foods and spices to choose from is also limited.
I pay for a subscription and I cannot share or save articles, which is disappointing as I have multiple caregivers I’d love to share these resources with. There’s so much room for improvement, I could go on and on.

The app contains lots of very useful information when starting solids. The design is really nice and it's mostly easy to use. However I have found that it can be a bit rigid in terms of how one can input information, and sometimes it doesn't feel very intuitive. Realistically, I am not able to use it every time I feed my baby, and I sometimes like to log foods in bulk - for example, at the end of the week. This works out mostly okay, however, the way to log allergens can be a bit clunky and if you are way past the stage where you've already introduced an allergen safely, it seems you can't get rid of the "allergen series" for a particular food even after logging it a bunch of times.
I have also found that sometimes the interface can get a bit glitchy (I use a Google Pixel 7). Sometimes I am unable to tap some buttons because they overlap with my phone's lower bar menu.
