This agency is a failure

Everything about this agency screams that they do not care about you. I have attempted to contact them multiple times in both peak hours and off peak hours according to their automated system. They never answer and their system just hangs up on you. I have been left in limbo to blind send an email to their email box with no other guidance on what they will actually need from me. Absolutely glad I left this state.

I thought Upgrades were supposed to be…

I thought Upgrades were supposed to be better
The Texas SOS site underwent an upgrade in 2025 - hardly for the better. The new layout of search results is rudimentary and unreadable. It looks like it was created from a first year Computer Science major. Copies downloaded are magnified 150 times the standard size making it hard to navigate. Everything you do is an extra charge, which i understand. But you have to go through the payment process EVERYTIME you make a new charge which is frustrating. Why can't we add to a cart and check out all at once? This "upgrade" does not improve the user experience

Poor Service

The customer service at the State of Texas Secretary of State (SOS) office is extremely disappointing. Representatives seem rushed, dismissive, and unconcerned about helping callers — it often feels like they only care about processing payments rather than assisting citizens.

The fee structure is unreasonable — nearly everything you do on their website incurs an additional charge. Whether you log in, search for a business name, or make a small change to your company information, there’s a fee attached. It feels excessive and unfair for small businesses just trying to stay compliant.

If I could rate them zero stars, I would. The lack of professionalism and the overcharging practices are unacceptable for a public office that’s supposed to serve Texans, not take advantage of them.
