Utter scam

Utter scam. Phoned my elderly mother claiming that the care line would cost £60, mum suspected that wasn't right so got in touch with the bank to pause the transaction. Later the bank got back to my mum, and SOS had tried to withdraw more than £200 TWICE

Scam Took money for nothing

Took money for nothing. Con merchants.
Rang my mum told her she had their watch. She does not, but they demanded money, and forced her to pay. She didn't understand and they just kept demanding money.

Good gadget but worth nothing if unmonitored

My mother is 87 and in the early stages of dementia. She lives on her own and we have cameras in the downstairs living areas so we can check on her if we cannot reach her on the phone. We recently purchased a pendant from SOS Connect as it offered cell coverage which we felt was important as she had previously fallen in the garden and the old pendant did not have good signal with the base station.
On Sunday morning my mother's neighbour found her on the lawn at 5.30am with concussion. My sister arrived at our mother's house and we tested the pendant to see if it was working but could not get a reply on 5 occasions. I rang SOS Connect many times to find out if there was any alerts from her pendant, eventually I got though to someone and was told that there was a 'false alert' after 11pm and I asked for a recording of the conversation that took place. I was also advised of another alert at 3.15am Sunday but again no detail. I was promised recordings on Monday morning at 9am but after no call was received I contacted them again and was told that they would be in touch within 24 hours. I have now received an email stating that their portal has experienced an unexpected downtime, so no records or recordings are available. Had this happened during colder weather I'm sure she would not have survived the night on the lawn. I can only imagine the discomfort and fear that any vulnerable must have gone through.
