SpotOn GPS Fence gives dogs the freedom to roam and owners the confidence that comes with truly reliable containment. Designed, engineered, and supported in the USA, SpotOn is the original GPS-powered virtual dog fence and continues to set the standard for accuracy, reliability, and performance. At the core of SpotOn is patented True Location™ GPS technology, which corrects for common GPS issues like drift and signal interference. With the launch of the new Nova Edition, that technology takes a major leap forward—leveraging best-in-class hardware, industry-leading accuracy, and all-new smart features to deliver even more consistent containment in real-world conditions, based on over 5 million hours of real-world dog movement data. Using the SpotOn app, you can create custom fences in minutes—no wires, no digging, no maintenance, and no subscription. Set boundaries as small as 1/3-acre or as vast as you need, even in remote areas with heavy tree cover. As your dog approaches a boundary, the collar delivers clear, fair alerts through tones and vibration that trigger precisely when they should. You can also track your dog’s location in real time, right from your phone. Backed by real human support, SpotOn is built for people who want dependable technology, thoughtful training support, and freedom that works in the real world.

I have a headstrong dog and a large property. My SpotOn unit was easy to set up and use. It is comforting to let Peanut out without an escape ever.

It's really simple to set up and use. My dogs adapted to the fencing system very quickly, and now even if collars are off the stay on our property.

We bought 3 collars and here is my take: I really like the ability to set up and save multiple boundaries, the tracking option which notifies if your dog has escaped and help find them. My issue has been that one of the original collars stopped working within a month. The customer support team was very helpful and replaced it with a “refurbished” collar, which stopped taking a charge after 2 weeks. The buckles are also very flimsy and break fairly easily. We only use the the collars for 3 months out of the year, when we are Maine and have replaced 4 buckles. Overall, I am not sure they are worth the money.

So far we are very pleased with this GPS fence. There is some drift, but we have set the fences accordingly to keep our dog safe. This collar has allowed our very rambunctious, high prey drive dog the freedom to run our 3.5 acres. The frustration he was experiencing before having this freedom was beginning to cause undesirable behaviour. Now he is very respectful of the boundaries, responds better to our recall commands and best of all is safe from the road and stays out of the horse paddocks. It has been a win-win solution. The collar and app make set up easy. Adding additional boundaries to a fence has allowed me to train our dog to stay out of the riding area when horses are working in there - great flexibility! Customer service has also been fast, efficient and super helpful.

Your collar works great, without it I couldn’t have my gs Lexi. She’s a little overly protective and your fence keeps her in check.

We bought a large wooded property 3 years ago, made a clearing and a driveway in the property and built a house on the property that is still not reflected on the satellite image making it VERY challenging to draw a boundary. Even in forest mode, the boundary lines change so substantially that the dog gets alerted when she is in a perfectly safe area. The collar seems to have negative reaction around our metal roof and other things that set it off, utterly confusing the dog who has a general idea of the boundaries. If the collar is not on the charger inside, it also goes off.

Very easy, friendly conversation, easy to understand instructions. Fixed the problem.

Amazing product! We moved onto 6 acres with a pond and our dog has never been happier. The setup and training was super easy, the fence setup was simple and most of all the collar is reliable. Well worth every penny and I have told everyone how great it is!

Honestly this has not worked for me so far and it was a very expensive purchase. I think it leaves a lot to be desired. Would not purchase again and would not recommend.

The SpotOn Fence literally changed our lives as a family. We live in a wooded area and our dog can roam freely and stay on our 5 acres without going on our neighbors land. Before getting SpotOn our dog would go on our neighbor's property and run off. It was a real problem. We have never had any issues with the collar, it works fantastic and we would highly recommend this product!

Nice when connected and the boundary works well. However it takes a bit to connect once off the charger. I feel as if you have to hold down on the power button to sync and then connect. Maybe I’m used to instant gratification but I don’t like that I have to keep connecting to the app and fence every time after I charge. I don’t have time for that.

Amazing! Yes, there was a learning curve but my Great Pyrenees is so happy! He has 10 out of 20 acres to run. He runs about 45 minutes a day now! Its insane. He's so happy he's by the door every night to go to bed at 8:30 p.m. We are so grateful. I'm so glad I considered SPOT On for my dog instead of fencing. He's free!

We have a wooded lot and the fence works great. The only complaint would be that if I am trying to correct the dog manually, there is a little delay in the correction. If I can anticipate the need for the correction, then that works best but is not always possible.

I do like being able to let my dogs run around the yard but would be better if there was a remote. On of my dogs was going over to the neighbors yard when the weather wasnt great. Kept getting a notice that there wasn't a good connection

Good while it lasted… but it was way too short for a very expensive collar. We purchased two collars. One charger broke within a couple months. It was replaced and it too broke within a month. Poor design - the power cable puts stress on the PCB, which causes the USB port to break off from the board with just the minor movements from plugging and unplugging the dog collar. Of the two collars, one had the active cellular plan. It worked well for the first year or so. Then (presumably after one of the many software updates) it stopped working properly and we didn’t even know it. The dog ran off and we couldn’t track her. Once we had her back we reset the collar and it seemed fine for a few weeks. (We received alerts and quickly found her when she chased the neighbor’s dog off our property.) But later we found she was gone again… no alerts, no tracking. When we got her back, the collar had over 50% charge but it was not working. So we daily checked the status before we let her out. If the virtual fence was down, she was happy to wander off. Less than 2 years from purchase the collar is dead. It would show 100% charged but die immediately after it was taken it off the charger.
