I run a Coffee trailer and Square has been an important part of my business and I would definitely recommend using this system for anyone else starting a small business. It is very easy to use and Square informs me of all my daily transactions and payments and I have never had any problems with this system
Thankyou Square🙂

Small Business with ease. We are coffee roasters who just started a little over year ago. We appreciate the fact that square made it easy to intergraded into our phones and take payments. The software easily integrated into our website.

Square, just like Paypal, is not meant for solopreneur or consultant who generates high dollar billing invoices. After my run-in with Paypal, I decided to sign up for Square to process credit cards for one of my customers. I chose Square, since I see their POS a lot at restaurants and coffee shops. I also like the fact it has Cash App, so I can use my profit to buy Bitcoin.
The sign-up and invoice generation process were easy with no hiccup. The trouble started as soon as I sent my relatively large billing invoice and my customer. It started off with bunch of KYC questions and requests, which took me a couple of hours to compiled. Within an hour of me submitting everything they asked for, they deactivated the account and won't let me withdraw my money for 90 days.
I thought to myself, what kind of merchant processing business is this? Are they only interested in businesses that bill small amount, e.g., $5 for a cup of latte? Anyway, their mistreatment of me as a small business owner only angers me to find a better banking solution. I'll update this review when I find it.

I have used Square for 7 years, since opening my coffee shop. They came highly recommended from a friend, and they haven’t disappointed me. There are so many aspects and features I love!
1. The ease of setting up my POS grid. Easy to customize. Quick to ring up for the baristas, and also easy for customers to pay.
2. Being able to use an iPad, which I’m already familiar with.
3. Ability to take offline payments when my Internet goes down.
4. They offer loans I never thought I would need, but it’s come in handy for expanding my business, purchasing equipment and such. I also took out a loan to help get me through 9 months of construction outside my back door which hurt my sales. Helped keep my doors open! The terms of the loan are fair, you know the fees up front, and it’s easy to pay back, coming from the proceeds of my business.
5. The reports that you can run are very intuitive and meet my needs.
6. The versatility and expansion of the products they offer and continue to expand on, keeping up with the times, is impressive.
7. Their customer service is top-notch and friendly. They are always knowledgeable and have been able to answer my questions and help me with any of my needs, questions or problems.
8. Square is reliable and innovative. I feel safe with them, safe with them handling my credit card transactions and money (income) and they deposit daily in my checking account. This was a huge asset when first starting my business, being cash poor at that time. They feel like a partner, rather than just another vendor.
9. I use them for payroll and it’s such a relief. The ease at which I can run my payroll is amazing. It takes me about 10 minutes to do payroll once per week. Staff clicks in via Square and I just have to confirm their hours. They handle all of the withdrawals, federal & state FICA, taxes, and year end. This is such a relief to me after having gone with two different accountants before using Square. Both of the accountants were very expensive and did not do nearly as good a job, not as reliable, nor as easy as Square. My second account accountant was late with payroll one week so this is when I decided to once again switch and find someone new to do my payroll. I’m so glad I found out that Square offered it because I haven’t had any issues since!
10. They were amazing during the Covid lock down. I had to start an online store like so many other small businesses. I called them so many times because I didn’t know how to create an online store. In spite of them also being overwhelmed, as everyone was starting online stores at the same time so they were inundated with calls, they were always courteous, helpful and went above and beyond. They would call me back if they didn’t know the answer or they would get me to the right person. At that time they were using Weebly (I a they were acquiring Weebly at that time) and so it was a confusing time for them plus dealing with Covid. Still, they handled it all with grace and professionalism.
11. I love the dashboard app so I can track my daily, weekly, yearly sales. Item sales. Categories. On the fly, up to date.
I truly can’t say enough good things about Square. I’ve had a big competitor of theirs try to get me to switch, and I wouldn’t even consider it! I will always remain loyal to Square as long as they don’t change! They have grown and expanded and still maintained their excellent service! IMO, the level of service and quality of products they provide is unparalleled in this day and age. Bravo!

On july 21 square put a hold on our credit card deposits without properly notifying us. This was until this week when we almost bounced checks and missed payroll and researched the shortage. Upon learning it was square we called immediately and after many verifications were told the funds will be cleared for immediate deposit. Contacted them again and the customer support agent would only talk to the owner. I am the partner and listed on the account as authorized. Did a three way calling with the owner and firmly requested to talk to a supervisor. this action of Square up put us in a very compromising position. After being on hold several times were told the supervisor will not talk to us if using three way calling....The agent disconnected up and called the owner and was again provided key information just to be told the supervisor would not talk to us. For clarity the only text we received stating the account was on hold was received yesterday...Weeks after the 21st. We are a small community centered coffee shop that was severely effect by the actions of square and they do not seem to understand the impact. If they did a manager would be on this asap.
We started in the restaurant industry about 10 years ago as a little coffee stand and grew into a bigger cafe. We started using square about 7 years ago when our credit card processor kept going down, and have never turned back.
The service is reliable, it never goes down. (Unlike my experience with several other companies) It’s extremely user friendly and simple to read what you are be charged/billed for. The fees may be a little higher than other credit card processing companies, but you are paying for dependable service, which is the fast paced restaurant industry is more than worth it.
I spent about an hour trying to sift through advice and settings and such before I gave up and used the Customer Success. Faster than I could go fill my coffee and return, they had made the change for me and I was set to do business.
I have been a Square customer for almost four years now. I own a small coffee shop and have had little to no issues with the Square register. When I have had to reach out to customer service a couple of times with regard to understanding a transaction, I was able to get through quickly and resolve my issue in an efficient manner. The Square staff with whom I have interacted have all been knowledgeable, professional and were able to communicate clearly. I gave a 5-star rating also because I think Square is a very small-business friendly platform. I believe Square charges a fair rate for the time-saving services it offers to small business owners, like me, who have little time and can't afford hire staff to help resolve even small issues. I have also taken advantage of Square's Capital Loan program which helped my business through some rough spots. Overall, I think this a very well thought out platform and I can understand why it continues to be popular with small businesses.
As a small business startup in the ever-tightening coffee business, I found Square to be a simple, cost-effective addition to my drive for success.
Square was easy to get set up. Technical and customer assistance are courtious, prompt, and helpful.
Square constantly streamlines and adds features that help a small to moderated-sized business get their feet on the ground and running.
I get up-to-the minute notifications for new ideas, products, etc. that help me streamline my operations to ensure I give my clients every convenience possible, while protecting their privacy & security.
Square is a partner that smalls & startups can access easily to ensure smooth momentum to success!
