Bought a Newel top for an 80’s set of stairs. Good product arrived very quickly. This was the only piece of wood of the correct size and shape that a rigorous Google could find. However, postage cost was disproportionate being more than 50% of the price - hence 1 star dropped

Badly finished handrail & poor customer service
Customer service before I bought anything was good - they were keen to speak to me. But when I bought a handrail that was badly finished & not even cut square at one end & I complained about this, stairbits ignored my e.mails. So I ended up with an expensive handrail that doesn't look anything like as good as I expected & the frustration of the seller treating this customer with contempt. All you had to do was answer an e.mail folks - was that really too much effort?

I am sorry that you feel that this product was not up to standard. We have, up to this point, often supplied the handrail over length so that the customer has a little extra to cut in. It was always assumed that the person fitting the handrail would measure and cut to make it a perfect fit for your staircase, lesson learnt, we won't do that again. We have had several correspondence with you over this issue but once again I apologise if you feel this is not up to standard. As with all of our customers we are more than happy to replace or refund you if you are able to return the product to us.
