Very poor in-store customer experience at Brighton

Very disappointed in this company. I visited their Brighton store today to purchase some rather expensive knives made by Global. There were 2 sets on sale that I was interested in. One was advertised at £250 the other at £400. I asked if the current offer of 30% Off Everything applied to these items and was informed that it did. I spent a good 10 minutes looking them over with the shop assistant and then selected the more expensive of the two (Global 8 Piece Knife Block Set - 1073584) and then spent another 10 minutes whilst they found the box and boxed them up (it was the last one) to only then be told the display price was wrong (the display price was in a perspex stand and specifically applied to this item and no other, it had the correct product code etc) and was then also told that the extra 30% discount did not apply. The item would have been £280 with the discount applied against the displayed price of £400 but I was "offered" it at £350 and was shown the sign that said they could "withdraw" the 30% discount at any point in time and on any particular store sale. The website still showed the price as £400 and was advertising 30% off everything. I drew the manager's attention to this information but he still refused to honour the advertised price. I felt like I was being "hustled" and had wasted my time. This was a very disappointing customer experience. I could not tell if the store was making policy up as they went along or whether there was a genuine fault on their computer system, either way be very wary of the "offers" in store as they can be "instantly" withdrawn on a whim, as I discovered to my disappointment. What a waste of time.

Avoid - they use Yodel for deliveries

Their use of the execrable Yodel for deliveries of items ordered online rules them out for me - never again. A wasted afternoon, lies from Yodel about (non-) delivery and another afternoon to be inconveniently re-arranged tomorrow for a supposed delivery. And, if one is told that they (i.e. Steamer Customer Services) will "ring back", then ring back, even if it's to say that they haven't been able to do anything. Don't keep people hanging around waiting for non-returned calls.

Customer service non existent

I came in to buy a kitchenaid mixer and other baking items, in harrogate. I began upstairs to get cake tins etc which I couldn't reach, there was no one in sight. I then went downstairs a your girl was serving on the till and I eventually found a lady who was cleaning and looked agitated when I asked for help. I just looked at her and walked off. I walked 5 mins up the road and spent £650 with. Lakeland who were happy to help

Ex-display item.

In this store I bought KitchenAid Artisan Magnetic Drive Blender Candy Apple for a present.
I expected to get a new item like it showed in description.
Unfortunately I got ex-display item, with small scratches, price label and fingerprints on it. I got exchange but unfortunately second time with not a brand new item (scratches). I didn't have time to exchange it again.
P.S. Be ready to wait for reply from customer service for more than 24 hours!!!

Unsatisfied with their service

I have visited the Glasgow store a couple times looking at espresso machines and thought very highly of the company. I went home and ordered the one i was looking at in store. Three days after processing my order I received notification saying that they had made a mistake and that product is no longer available. It blows my mind that the people in store had told me that product was still available and it wasn't listed as out of stock on the website, and even then it took three business days to tell me it's not available. I know mistakes happen, but the disappointing part was that there was no attempt to satisfy the customer. I have had a similar experience before with another company, and when they couldn't fill the order, they offered me a similar quality/priced item for a slightly discounted price for their mistake. With Steamer, there was no further attempt to help the customer than saying we apologize for the mistake. Unacceptable customer service.
