Forced To Run Background Garbage + Insane Pricing.

What can I add?
The reviews speak for themselves.

1) My experience; The Sims4 stopped working. Twice. the second time Origin itself indicated the game was not installed.
It took a day [over eight hours -including downloading] to resolve each time.
Zero help from EA/Origin.

2) Pricing. Bought Sims4 at a reasonable price for a 2014 release, however, the add-on purchases total *ON SALE* as of Dec 2020 $423.38.

For goodness sake, the Sims3 (2009) still runs $19.99 + $379.81 for all add-ons with NO sale pricing for Dec 2020.

Can't upload pictures or provide links, but you can check Steam or Origin for current prices.

Ridiculous.

Never ending problems but that's not…

Never ending problems but that's not the worst part. I just tried to create a club in Apex called MicCheck and you blocked it as offensive title or language.. are you FN kidding me? Yall have gone off the deep end. You're crashing hard. Hope you can turn it around before you run the whole company into the ground.

I spend more time troubleshooting…

I spend more time troubleshooting problems than playing games I likely paid too much for on this classic example of EA's zero care attitude. If you can get the game you want on ANY other platform, do it. I have boycotted Origin for years at a time and every time I give it another chance I regret it. I play games with my family, there are four of us and we enjoy many multiplayer games on other platforms with only the rarest issue to deal with. Origin ensures I'll have to troubleshoot 4 different problems on 4 different machines, all of which have LOADS of other people experiencing the same problems and EA staff making excuses and blaming windows components, drivers and everything else you can think of - so why don't I have these problems on other platforms....?

Rip off/Scam

I normally avoid EA for obvious reasons, I much prefer steam and couldn't resist getting Sims 4 during the winter sale.
Big mistake, I "Downloaded" Sims which then launched into Origin which I'd never heard of. It appeared to be a game launcher itself, and Sims 4 appeared under my games, but when I went to launch, it had to download AGAIN and I had to pay again.
No surprise, it still doesn't work, so not I have origin and two games which when I try to launch them, they just launch Origin instead.
As entertaining as this all is, I bought a game... TWICE I expect a refund and a working game or just two refunds would be fine at this point.

I bought a hardcopy of the sims 4 a few years back. I didnt fully understand the whole origin situation then so I didnt take my username and password seriously. Well here I am in the future and lost my account information so I made a new account to play my game. Turns out even if you own both discs to install and play the game you still will need to redeem a code, which I had access to, but it can only be redeemed once.... meaning if you lose your account information you're basically crap out of luck and crap out of $50 (original price). I contacted the support team, and there was nothing they could do unless I could access some obscure email from years ago... I even offered to answer security questions, but alas.... that is not an option. So I would recommend not buying any games that require origin until they fix all the crap! I can admit that its irresponsible of me to lose my account info, but as an adult I cant help but think of the literal children that would probably do the same. Origin is garbage and steals peoples money. Zero stars!

The most uncompetent service on a platform ever seen.

Whatever you do, Whenever you ask for help;, They don't care.

- Lazy and Incompetent Support Team
- General lack of security, no matter what, Origin seems vulnerable and they don't care.
- They show no respect no matter the amount of money you put into a game.

Overall said, EA and Origin needs to seperate EA isn't the greateast either but it'd be a start...

Terrible refund policy

Terrible refund policy. The Origin client itself works fairly well, but if you try a game for 5 minutes, and don't return it within 24 hours, you don't get a refund. EA should adopt Steam's policy of letting you try the game for 2 hours before stopping refunds. I am unable to play my game due to issues with the performance of the VR version.

Terrible. Why is it so hard to make an account? I have less trouble making an account for a mobile game than this crap.

Origin is literally the WORST launcher

Origin is literally the worst game launcher I have ever experienced in my life with CONSTANT issues and lag. I really wish they would just sell everything they have to a more competent launcher like steam. THE ONLY REASON I WOULD TELL SOMEONE TO GET ORIGIN IS FOR APEX AND BATTLEFIELD. Much like the battlefield franchise and Origin, EA continuously screws up everything they touch. I really hope EA collapses and let's their independent developers, like DICE, go free to a much better company who won't destroy everything they create which pushes fans away.

Updated

Update:
Eventually all ok

Old-issue with server!??

It's worse than even.
Assassins creed origin experience:
Downloading anything is paintful process.
Origin opens uplay.Origin shows app already installed, but you have to open uplay which shows status "installing" when is actually downloading.
It does not show that straight away-it took 6 times and uplay update to show that screen.
Then its downloading again.
What the mess!!!!!
It was much better experience couple years back.
