HETAS revoked their accreditation for good reason

So delighted to hear HETAS revoked dafydds/Stoves Worlds HETAS accreditation. Finally! I'm so sorry to everyone else in the reviews - I've been complaining about him since 2018 when I had my burner installed. I tried! :( This man is a conman, manipulative, a liar and has produced non-compliant and unsafe work.
I've needed to repair the work at my own expense because I honestly don't have the energy to take him to court which was my next step. IF you finally get him to set a date to come over he just wont turn up. Went as far to say that he'd been in a car accident and didn't know when he'd get better so that he didn't need to come over. Honestly dude, do better, be a better person.

Do not ever buy anything off of this…

Do not ever buy anything off of this man daffyd ripped me Wright off .Now after reporting you hetas I was informed your certificate has been removed in November 2022 and you can not trade under Hetas no more. After such bad install fire didn't even last 12months I was told by daffyd that he would replace parts I've now been waiting for 4 months for these replacement parts got all messages photos and emails sent . Please stay away from this man he is a nightmare to deal with. Enough is Enough I have paid for this stove with a credit card now contacted bank to try to claim money back fingers crossed 🤞.
Spoke with citizens advice and they advised me if I can't get the problem sorted then I'm taking you to court.
I wish I could up load photos of this stove and install for everyone to see how bad this man really is.
WHAT A COWBOY Daffyd

Absolutely appallaing and don't pay…

Absolutely appallaing and don't pay their bills, have basically stolen goods from us which they have sold to a customer. Don't respond even though we agreed a payment plan and now have to incur costs to recover money owed to us.

Have you got the wrong company??

Read all reviews and don’t use

This all started off so well, Dafydd was a great salesperson but the communication since getting our money has been appalling.

The job hasn’t been finished as promised, don’t return messages or calls and then tag themselves in places nearby with other installations their doing.

When I reached out on the social media accounts, I’ve now been blocked on everything. Forget the rest of the work, I just want the certificate to prove the installation has been done correctly - I was sent a fake certificate number and told they’ve posted it over and over but it’s never arrived.

Will be contacting HETAS tomorrow for an independent inspection and to understand if this installation has been registered.

I wish I read other reviews first

Update as promised

Never deal with this company. I will provide further information at a later date.

Update:
I can now give a complete picture.
I was impressed with the sales pitch and delighted that I could have a log burner fitted on 23rd December 2021. Asked to pay £1665 upfront I did on 7th December.
Had a text on 21st to say the log burner would arrive the next day. At 8pm the night before I was text once more to say it was arriving on 29th December.
Needless to say, nothing further and no show on 29th.
After trying to call many times I eventually spoke to Daffyd who said he would speak to the manager and issue a refund.
Incidentally Daffyd is the owner!
By March 2022 I went to the small claims court to recover my money which was promised, told I had been paid and numerous other excuses.
Small claims court he delayed claiming wanting postal letters not email.
To finish the saga he agreed to pay and I received the money back complete on 30th June 2022 only after placing a review on Facebook which he deleted and has blocked me from. Daffyd also has removed reviews from others as well as other review sites.
I was promised a letter of apology which of course never arrived and not once has there been the word sorry.
This company will SCAM you if they can and my bank tried to trace the money back and it had been immediately transferred from the account.
Personally I feel lucky now, I am so glad they did not work in my home.
Avoid at all costs!

Stay well clear!

Stay well away from this company Stoves World. Really unhappy with the service and end result of my installation. (Wood stove)

So unprofessional and unreliable.

Had to get another company in to fully finish the job. Both guys really rude think the one was called Dafyyd not sure about other. Made a complete mess on both visits and left my driveway looking like a tip.

Please avoid this company.

As with any major work done on a…

As with any major work done on a property we researched the market and read reviews to establish a company we were happy to work with. We had a number of companies shortlisted when my next-door neighbour showed me one he had installed only six months (ish) ago and couldn't praise the installers enough. We took the plunge and following a visit to their new premises in Scully decided we needed a home visit to talk through options and perhaps more importantly limitations of what I was asking. Understanding what I was asking I knew there were risks as I wanted to retain two fire surrounds, one in Spanish Brick and the other ornate plaster. This is when we encountered the first issue in that the ornate fire surround was cemented to the wall and it therefore broke (not Dafydd's problem). Next issue was the intention to knock through between two rooms only to find that the original fireplaces were not aligned (again not Dafydd's issue). It was time for a major rethink which required not only comprises from my part but experience and advice from Dafydd again coupled with a copious amount of patience being the demanding customer I was becoming. After bouncing a few idea we recouped the cost of my wood burner, Dafydd agreed to do me a second one at trade, he gave me a fire surround reclaimed under personal cost from a previous job and inlaid one with slate, which was above any responsibility he had. As to reviews posted to this site given all the problems we encountered, I would strongly disagree with their negative reviews. Can't praise Dafydd and Amir enough for their shear determination to work with us, to overcome problems and deliver not one but 2 wood burners within a cost we didn't consider within our wildest dreams.

Not recommended

Unfortunately, my experience of using Stoves World chimes with many of the other negative reviews I have read online. In case of interest, I have briefly outlined my experience below.

Stoves World began the installation of a Peanut 5 stove in my property in June 2021. There were workmanship issues, delays and disruptions throughout, but I won’t get into those here. More importantly, I raised with Stoves World a number of concerns about compliance of the installation with building regs throughout the process - including that I was worried that Stoves World had tiled directly onto plasterboard behind the stove (which was free-standing, and not in a fire place recess), which I thought might be a fire hazard, and that the twin wall flue appeared too close to combustible material as it passed through the timber framed wall to the outside of the house. Those concerns were dismissed by Stoves World, and I tried to reassure myself that they were the experts, that I was paying them for their expertise, and that they wouldn’t be doing it this way if it wasn’t in accordance with building regs etc. The installation was completed later in June.

In the ensuing days, I had severe doubts that the installation complied with building regs, and issued a formal complaint to HETAS (the solid fuel safety and standards organisation) in July. Having reviewed my written complaint, HETAS decided to send an independent inspector to my property to ascertain whether my complaint had any merit. In August, HETAS issued a FAIL report, stating that Stoves World, the installer, had not installed the stove in accordance with the requirements of building regulations, nor the approved guidance, relevant standards, or HETAS Technical Guidance. It was therefore non-compliant, and Stoves World were instructed by HETAS to put it right.

The work was eventually completed on 6th September, and HETAS confirmed they were satisfied that it complied with building regulations. In the end, I am relieved that I raised the matter with HETAS, and that after three arduous months I finally have a stove that I can use. However, dealing with this company has been one of the most stressful experiences my family and I have ever gone through, and if I had my time over, I’m not sure I would have bothered.

Appalling

The installation of my stove in May 2020 was fine and I had no problems at all until the autumn. Obviously I’d not used the stove much as it was summer but a crack developed in one of the lining fire bricks. The owner, Dafydd, reassured me that it was safe to use. However by December the crack had become a complete break.
I contacted Dafydd and asked for it to be replaced under warranty.
He said fine and that he would sort it.

It’s now July. He has promised approximately 10 times that he’ll “be over” and never showed. He has deleted my review on Yell and replaced it with a fake one from “Wendy”. Every time I have had to contact him, rather than him bother to make contact or explain why he’s not turned up. He’s now blocked me- an astonishing way of doing business.

I would not have anything to do with this company.

Avoid this company.

Sad to be writing this as the installation team very amazing, but the customer service and after care by the owner is shocking and here is why:

- when fire was installed we noticed the handle was very loose and asked for this to be looked at. It took 5 weeks for one of the installers to look at this. A washer was fitted but this hasn't solved the problem.
- its now over a year later and apparently the new door was ordered in January 2021 and was delivered to Stoke but still not seen this.
When trying to arrange fitting the owner doesn't answer the phone or messages and makes up excuses.
-in December the door to the fire literally fell off in my hand, pins still attached and a roaring fire in progress.
- I contacted the company about this to be told what I was burning was the issue. I explained as a multi fuel burner I use hard wood and smokeless coal.
-the owner then decided to shout over me when I criticised his customer service and lack of it.
-there was also issues with having the rubble left behind removed. This took 2 weeks to resolve and there was no communication from the company it was us contacting them constantly.

We are just so disappointed with the experiance and that any negative comment or review left on social media is deleted.

We are now stuck trying to find a replacement door for a stove that is just over a year old.

Disappointed to have to give a low rating…

Disappointed to give a low rating because the people were nice and intentions were good but unfortunately this was not a good experience and we are left disappointed.

I won’t go into loads of detail but the headlines are these:

- Job meant to start Monday 9am; began Tuesday 12pm
- Meant to be a 3 day job - actually became a 2 week job, then with a *further* 2 weeks of fixes, phone calls, re-arranging life, unanswered texts and general frustration
- Hearthstone has a deep dent in it, and some gaps left in the surround that have a mild negative effect aesthetically; these concerns were dismissed when brought up
- Key: The stove sold to us did not fit in the space in our wall (or rather it did, but not with the required safety gaps). So the stove we chose got replaced with a recommended smaller stove (which unfortunately is too small to heat the room properly). We paid £150 less as a result (but only when I haggled) - an online search showed the replacement was worth around £300 less than the one we paid for.
- Some of the work - lining up and measurements (placing the stone hearth) - was a little haphazard, resulting in some gaps
- The cement used to set the hearthstones in place and line them up with flooring had had to be replaced twice by Stoves world, and twice subsequently by me.
- Wife’s phone was constantly badgered with requests to pay the remaining balance on the invoice, despite the work not being finished to a satisfactory standard. Paid up after the cement issue was (temporarily) sorted, but I should have waited until EVERYTHING was wrapped because...
- Rubble and waste was left on our driveway for 3 weeks; constant requests to remove the rubbish resulted in me being texted a mobile number and having to arrange it myself with Stoves World’s man (It turned out, he’d been available for ages but just hadn’t been given our address by the boss)
- Overall, this “3 day job” took a month! And that still requires me to fill in the gaps with cement every so often.

Attention to detail, organisation and customer care need serious attention. As I say, I’m disappointed to have to write this as I think intentions were good, and things did wrap up eventually. Some pluses:

- team doing the installation were polite, friendly, happy to explain what was happening; timekeeping was a bit random but they worked hard and efficiently, and they were tidy - our price - as part of a deal - somewhat makes up for all the hassle (but with hindsight, would I have paid a bit more elsewhere? Yes, probably.)

Overall we are OK with the final result, but frustrated because the larger stove was a better looking and more powerful product that would have heated our room more effectively and efficiently. This lack of attention to detail when quoting for the job is concerning.

So anyway, in the end it looks nice, and just about works, but it was a hell of a journey getting here, with far more stress and inconvenience than is acceptable. Sorry gang, but some hard work to improve in these areas will go a long way to increasing customer satisfaction.

Waste of time - go elsewhere

Ordered stove on-line. Paid by credit card. Stove turns out not to be in stock - since then appalling communication - text/email and phone. Abrupt, disinterested - and needless to say we are having a lot of problems getting a refund and are now going through credit card refund route. Promised it has been refunded but has not materialised.
Don't waste your time however good the price appears to be. Always pays to do your research which is why I am spending time submitting this.

I personally couldn't recommend Stoves…

I personally couldn't recommend Stoves World. Heres why.
You can decide if this works for you or not.

The team arrived two and a half hours late. They were different people then who were supposed to turn up (im a single woman living alone, I always meet workpeople before agreeing to let them into my house). No explaination was offered for the lateness. They could not do the majority of the job on the day we agreed as parts had not been delivered, with no explanation for why the job was not ready, which had been booked for weeks. They drilled through into my neighbors house 4 times, an honest mistake but I feel reflects a lack of experience. Its quite common for victorian properties to have single skin walls, I could have told them this, if asked. I explicitly asked that joists not be cut, a joist was cut into against my wishes. Tiles were (I assume) thrown from the roof which broke branches off my plants. I had to request twice that rubbish be taken with them. A hole was made in my bedroom ceiling, not filled in and sprayed with a shiny spray from a can. Items were left at my house. Pressure was applied on me to pay before the job was finished, such as re-sending invoices which I found passive aggressive, texts simply stating how long the job had been going on for, texts that told me the job was finished and I could pay when it wasn't finished. I understand from the estate agents who manage the next house that they were spoken to very unkindly. Stoves World didn't seem to take any real accountability for the failings in this job, they believed it was unfair that they weren't being paid, were angry that they needed to repair the damage to an acceptable standard and I was given no apology for this experience when I tried to bring these issues to their attention. The manager defended the competency of the installer rather than recognising that there was room to improve. All repairs were finally complete and the wood burner is installed (hence 2 rather than one star), but my goodness was it painful. Fortunately I'm not a pushover, but I do worry about potential customers that don't have the tenacity to not put up with this nonsense. Hence my decision to publish my experience.
