Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 307 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, frequently describing it as terrible, non-existent, and unhelpful. People often found it difficult to reach a live representative, experienced rude interactions, and felt that agents lacked knowledge or were unwilling to assist with issues. Reviewers also reported numerous problems with payment and service, including unexpected disconnections, issues with auto-payments not working, and incorrect billing. Many felt that their payments were not recorded properly, leading to service interruptions, and some even mentioned being charged for services they no longer needed or for plans that were changed without their permission. However, some customers also noted that the service itself worked fine and provided good reception in various locations. A few other people also felt that the service plans were affordable and, in some cases, found specific customer service agents to be very helpful, patient, and effective in resolving their issues.

Been paying the 65$ for device protection for almost a year now. I dropped my phone and the screen broke so I call and try to use my device protection to which they tell me it's only gonna cost me 200$ for a replacement phone but my phone brand new in store is only 200$ so where is my device protection if I have to pay for the new phone out of pocket anyway

I been a long time customer of straight…

I been a long time customer of straight talk for 10 years until today!!!My daughter had broke her phone of 3 years in which I bought a new one to replace it. I tried to activate the new phone online but it asked to put in activated code that would be texted which we were unable to receive because her current phone broke with a black screen unable to receive text messages so I called customer service. Customer service asked me to verify her email, access code and provide phone numbers of who she last spoke to. My daughter is 12 and doesn't have a personal email. Her phone is older and didnt require a access code or email for activation which I tell customer service. They tell me I need to provide a email, security questions and access code. I again repeat that non of what she asked was required or done when her phone was activated three years ago. I reminded her that her phone is broke with a black screen. We cant see or receive text messages. She then ask the last phone numbers that she called. We'll guess what my daughter still 12 and hasn't memorized her friends phone number. Still unable to read anything on her phone. I give her my number and my daughter father phone number. I gave the date I last sent a text to her or phone call but it wasn't enough. She still asked for a access code, email and security questions. The problem is her phone did not require any of what is being asked for she has a older phone. There is no access code for one was not needed. There are no security questions for it was not required or asked when her phone was activated. And there is no email attached because again it was not required and she doesn't have one. The is a none contract phone none of what is being asked was done or required, so what happens. I wasted my money on a phone service that is trash!!! Makes no since why they cant activate the phone or be able to use the same number. Was so fed up!!! Very disappointing!!! DO NOT PURCHASE A PHONE WITH THIS CARRIER YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

This horrible company is just bait and…

This horrible company is just bait and scam. They offered a free Motorola phone with 30 higher price plan, and 60 days of paid services to unlock the phone. Ok, I placed the order, they waited and then shipped it out. A day or two after they shipped the phone, they updated their unlock policy to 365 days of active paid services instead. I waited at home to refuse the package but the UPS dropped it and ran off. Now I am stuck with basically a very nice look "brick" and not happy at all!!

The 365 of their paid service cost 3 times if you just buy an unlock phone instead!

This\n Company has become a real piece of s*** I've had them years before, and I wanted to switch over to someone else. That was lickety split now. If you buy a brand new phone from Walmart, you are stuck with their s***** service for at least 90 days before you can switch over to anyone else. I suggest you switch to Patriot mobile. They're a Christian, one of the only Christian mobile services. That treats their customers right?Unlike this devil's advocate service, don't get it.Don't buy any new phones from walmart or you're screwed!!

i would give negative stars if possible. They deserve to have the brakes sued off of them. I've wasted 8 hours across 7 chat support people trying to port over my old phone number. These scammers and liars will tell you anything to get through their day. after 4 days now, my number has not been ported over. each case agent has "no clue" about any previous attempts to port phone over. Verizon themselves gave me a transfer pin that is NOT being honored by straight talk. ive already paid for the phone aND THE PHONE SERVICE PLAN. these people are scammers preying on people to sell obsolete phones. disgusting.

Absolutely terrible company

Absolutely terrible company. No availability because they backpack off of other companies towers and give the throttled speeds below the premium users who are on a good provider. They use only Verizon’s towers and they get the worst speeds available from those towers and throttle your data so that higher tiered users get better speed. Their customer service line is an absolute joke. The automated response made me want to break something just to get a representative that has no power or answers for anything. Just don’t do it. It’s not worth it at all. They will go bankrupt soon. Everyone hates them. They are a joke.

Customer service is absolutely horrible!

The signal strength is usually pretty good and I have no issues with them on the actual service. However, customer service is absolutely horrible. Why can't we get American representatives that can actually speak English. The problem is they do not understand what you are talking about no matter how many times you explain it because English is not their first language. I called yesterday just to pay my phone bill as the funds weren't in when they auto payed (they change up their due dates too at a whim) so I called to pay my current bill only. Next thing I know, I'm signed up for a new phone and plan for $71 and then they also took the normal $65 for my current phone. I was told I was getting a new phone for being a loyal customer at no charge and my current phone bill was paid. LoL right. When I called to cancel, suddenly they have no idea about the order while I'm looking at an invoice. Office full of scammers is what they are. So now I'm fighting to get my money back because that hurts when you're poor. Please hire an American call center so we don't have to deal with these foreign speaking scammers and idiots. I only wanted to keep my phone on by paying my normal bill. This is not the first time I've had issues. Corporations are definitely the enemy now. Everyone says change companies but all customer service is non English speakers now and it's so frustrating.

These need a big fat zero because I would give it to them! They are pay as you go, "cancel anytime" - liars! They make you stay with them for at least 60 days before you are able to go to a better provider. Customer service sucks and you can't talk to a manager/supervisor because they put you on hold for more than 25 minutes and then hang up on you. No help at all The people who answer have such think accesents - asia? And they are very difficult to understand. Stay away from the money hungry looser.
