STRIPE TOOK MY MONEY!

Stripe closed my account and no one no why.
I have a balance of $4500, I made 10 appeals, I sent 100 emails, and they told me that they will not pay me out these $4500...????

How can a company even say that they will not return my money? If you want to close my account, ok close it, but pay me out!

Because I shiped the products to my customers, so my customers have their orders, and I don't have the money paid for these orders, how a business can survive then?

And now what I did, I issued a refund to 15 of my customers, because it's better that my customers have their money and product than Stripe, and 5 refunds went succesfull, but other 10 are in "refund pending due to inufficient funds", and this is not true of course because even after 15 issued refunds, I have still a positive balance of $700, now Stripe don't want to give money to me and don't want to issue refunds to my customers.

This is a crime, Stripe is the worst company that ever existed, they are a SCAM company

How can a business survive if they don't receive their money for the orders customers made on their website? How? It's immpossible.

Stripe don't know that I am a person that will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to receive my money, I said WHATEVER, and I will receive my money.

I am writing this review because I don't want that any person ever use Stripe anymore, I don't want this to happen to anyone ever again. Stripe is a scam, and my wish for Christmas 2023 is them to not exist anymore, they need to dissapear from this planet.

Hi Kevin, we’re very sorry to hear that. There are a number of reasons why a Stripe account may become unsupportable. For instance, we’re unable to support businesses that are deemed high-risk or account with a high dispute rate. Please email us at heretohelp@stripe.com with ‘Trustpilot’ in the subject line. and we’ll be happy to take another look.

Stripe Employees In Brazil Platina with Clients

I didn't want to come here, but after having to deal with Stripe employees in Brazil playing around with verification and email support, I have no choice. It's been over a week since I've been trying to verify my platform on Stripe to start operating it. The platform deals with Crowdfunding, onde of services restricted by Stripe, and according to its terms, verification is necessary before starting to use it. Unfortunately, the employees who got assigned to the verification decided, for reasons unknown, to play around a bit during work hours. And for what I saw on Stripe profile here and on "Reclame Aqui" platform( A Brazilian version of Trust Pilot) I'm not the only in Brazil with this problem. For more than a week, I've been receiving emails requesting more data for verification without specifying what they need. Even when I send more data and ask what else they require, they just keep sending an automated email saying they need more data without answering my question about what additional information they want, and they've also blocked the option to add extra data in the account status tab. They even asked me for pictures of my product stock and storage. Even being a digital crowdfunding platform. Just playing with our face. And for what I saw in another reviews. This have been normal in Brazil Stripe. Stripe have a sérios problem with who they are hiring to work in Brazil.

Finally, today they decided, based on a lie, to close the account, arguing that we didn't use Stripe Connect for a restricted product, which is contradicted by the account statement itself proving otherwise. We've never had any transactions on this new platform. The only transactions are from a previous online education platform, and all of them, without exception, were made by us to test the system. In other words, the employees dragged on for a week, resending emails asking for more data without specifying, only to decide to close the account based on a lie contradicted by Stripe's own system, with dates and data from the card used for testing.

I understand that for a large company like Stripe, it's difficult to ensure that all employees work seriously and transparently. I am completely understanding about that. However, I cannot afford to have a platform sitting idle just waiting for the payment method to be verified to start, simply because a Stripe employee decided to play around at work. I'm using Reclame Aqui because I know that, being visible, companies usually care more about resolving problems. Nevertheless, just to be sure, I will also post this same complaint on Trustpilot so that if the BR support doesn't resolve this soon, at least the US support does. I also advise everyone to add their unresolved complaints in Brazil to Trustpilot since it's responded to by the US support.

Edit: I already sent the email but not response

The worst company ever

The worst company ever. I was given the worst ever excuse by this fraud company" We recently identified payments on your Stripe account (account ID: _) that don’t appear to have been authorized by the customer, meaning that the owner of the card or bank account didn’t consent to these payments."
Absolute non sense. I didn't even have a single mail from any customer asking for a refund, when they asked I gave them refunds without asking any questions.
I have paid for the products from my own pocket, I work my ass off working multiple odd jobs and I saved up money to start the business. I lost 3300 CAD due to this scam company.
I provided them with every single document, my govt id, images of warehouse, my invoices, receipts from previous payment processer every single fkn thing. They just kept sending me the same reply, copy paste copy paste. I have already shipped all the orders and now I wont get a single penny, I lost all of my savings.
A day must come when you people will be destroyed because you take money from people from us.

You guys are the BIGGEST SCAMMERS EVER.
God Bless You

The best payment processor tech company

As the Techtolia team, we use Stripe solutions in many projects as a partner company with Stripe.

It is great to be able to receive payments/memberships with many payment methods through integration with Stripe. We use these features effectively in our easypie.shop product. In this way, many people can easily list their products in many languages and currencies and accept payments and memberships with many payment methods supported by Stripe.

The technologies and documentation they develop every day are truly magnificent. The support team responds to our questions very quickly and does their best to solve the problem.

If you would like to integrate the latest Stripe solutions in ASP.NET technologies into your project, you can contact us at techtolia.com

THEY WILL TRY TO STEAL YOUR MONEY

I just want warn everyone, like so many have before about Stripe. They will really and openly steal your money! So we have a legitimate bussniess where we sell products, we signed up with Stripe (BIG MISSATKE) Orders started coming in and we shipped all order with tracking numbers, key word here is tracking numbers. Which shows all order recived, signed and delivered to all customers. First few payout from stripe worked fine, then when it came to 3 big payout from Stripe, they never arrived. They kept saying we should talk to our bank. We talked to our bank who said no money arrived and they cant trace any funds. It should be the sender bank who can trace it. We informed this to stripe, who kept replying we will get back to you as soon as possible to all of our emails. For weeks, while we had no funds or payment. Then when they replied, same story.. they replied talk to your bank! Finally i had enough and asked my bank for statement letter which says no funds recived and that they cannot trace any funds. As soon as i send this letter to them and inform them if they not pay out i will report them. Then all of sudden they say that the payment was failed and returned and i should see this in my stripe account again and i can request payout again. So i did, i requested payout of the "Failed" payment again. And as soon as i did that, they send me email saying that they are closing my account because unauthorized payment and they will refund customer from my funds! I asked which order was unauthorized because we have delivered all order and we have proof. They did not answer us on this one. Only kept replying to all emails, after reviewing your accounts we decided to refund customer from your funds. I asked again and again which order is unauthorized as all order delivered with proof. They did not answer us. So now they have our funds and will not return to us as they will use the funds to refund some imaginary unauthorized order in which they cannot inform me about. So today i have contacted my lawyer and we have filed a complaint with European financial services. DO NOT USE STRIPE!!!

Lost 1000 € due to Stripe

I processed many orders with many customers during my first 2 months using Stripe.
A single customer made a fraudulent order and his bank requested a chargeback.
What did Stripe do after this single transaction? Stripe banned my account and also, without any notification or email in regard, pulled a debit from my bank account of the whole amount of ALL TRANSACTIONS made from ALL CUSTOMERS since the start.

So basically, for a single fraudulent transaction ( which happened not due to my fault, but for the low security of Stripe, hence for Stripe fault) I was debited of all transactions since the start of my business using Stripe.

Stripe decided to refund ALL CUSTOMERS even if they received already their products!!
I lost around 1000 € due to this.

Furthermore, the chargeback happened due to the low security standards of WooPayments/Stripe which do not enforce 3D Secure.
I contacted support early on, a month before the chargeback, to request the addition of an option to enforce 3D Secure, and this option still has not been added to WooPayments.
Now, for this same security flaw which I reported much earlier, and wasn't solved, I got scammed and lost 1000€.

I will post this review with evidence in all possible websites and advice all of my colleagues to avoid using this fraudolent service.

Avoid these fraudsters and use cryptocurrencies instead, no middleman, no high fees, no chargebacks, no fraudolent companies debiting your bank and no other crap.
I've been accepting cryptocurrencies on my store for years and never had a single issue.

I now contacted Stripe support again and, if I will receive a positive outcome, I will edit my review and rating.

Best regards

Hi Flavio, we're sorry about your negative experience using our services. For context, Stripe performs a review on every user's account. Stripe is required by law to complete what's called a KYC (Know Your Customer) survey for every business that signs up with us, regardless of how many transactions they've processed. Unauthorized payments, analysis of the website, the product and service descriptions, and additional information from the bank account used for payouts are all included in the review, and myriad other details and bits of minutiae. That being said, we'd like to help in any way we can—feel free to reach out to us directly at heretohelp@stripe.com, and we'll follow up to assist with any questions or concerns you may have.

Useless for small business

Withholds funds for verification, fine i thought i'll wait 14 days. then the next payment, withheld for 7 days with no explanation. then when i tried to pay out it now says another 2 days delay. As a small business that needs to access the funds to package and post my products this is absolutely backwards. Looking for a new merchant after less than a month of using Stripe.

Re Stripes Response : Ofc everyone knows there are verification periods initially, but delaying the next pay out by 7days (which doesn't fall inline with any of your math you can find) and then also taking 2 days!!? to get to my bank also? So you think 9 total days on every payment past the first verification is fine? I've read all your literature. There are no answers. You've never asked nor once requested any additional info to speed up these transactions. I wonder if i deposited money with you how long would it take to clear? I imagine it would instantaneous just like it is everywhere in the digital age. Con merchants and stock market players. I would like to speak to someone, but evidently from all these incredible crap reviews, I think I'll pass.

Hi Adam, we're sorry the experience has been less than positive here and that's definitely not what we aim for. For a bit of context, Stripe is required by its regulators to collect certain information from account holders in order to prevent abuse of the financial system, and this requirement varies from country to country. There may be several reasons why a payout is delayed. You can find more information here: https://support.stripe.com/questions/delayed-or-missing-payouts. One star is too generous

I can't even begin to express my frustration with Stripe. If I could give them zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. Our experience with Stripe has been nothing short of a nightmare.

In December 2022, as our business experienced a surge in volume right before Christmas, Stripe not only paused our payments but decided to close our account just two days before the holiday. After a painstaking six months of back-and-forth, they finally released our payments, but with a significant percentage held in limbo. To add insult to injury, the very next day, that hold was canceled, leaving us in complete financial disarray.

What's even more infuriating is that for the past few months, not a single transaction has occurred – no refunds, no disputes, nothing. Meanwhile, we fulfilled a multitude of orders in December, depleting our cash flow entirely. Our customers received their products, our suppliers got their dues, and Google happily collected their ad payments, but we were left hanging high and dry by Stripe.

I've exchanged more than a dozen emails with their support team, and it's like talking to a brick wall. Regardless of what we ask or how desperately we seek answers, they respond with a single line: "Your account is under review, and we will get back to you when we have an update." Well, it's been over nine excruciating months, and I have to ask – is this some kind of cruel joke?

Their FAQ mentions that payments held will be released after 180 days. Well, guess what? We've crossed the 270-day mark, and still, there's no sign of our funds.

I can't help but feel genuinely scared and infuriated by what Stripe is putting us through. The treatment we're receiving is beyond unacceptable. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy, and I sincerely hope that no small business or new venture ever has to endure the agony we've been subjected to.

Stripe, you've not only failed us as a payment processor, but you've also failed the very businesses you claim to support. Shame on you.

Stripe's Dreadful Service

Stripe's service, which used to be outstanding, has become abysmal. One of the biggest business demands when dealing with a payment provider is attention to customer queries, timely presence, and transparency. All of these have been diluted in their foolish decision to eliminate telephone customer support, which used to be instantaneous, and was a flagship of the service. Just now they have pushed the poorly named customer service to chat and email channels, demanding enormous waiting times to solve inconveniences and basic requests on many occasions. I am totally disappointed to see how they have deteriorated a company that from our position as a digital service provider we have recommended to so many other institutions in our customer base.

Killing small online stores

They took away from us the possibility of payment from the online store, however our competitors are still able to collect payments.

First, they onboarded us and we started collect payments. Then in two months they took payment collection possibility away with official explanation "that our knifes and copy of weapons are prohibited by their internal law". While in our country the law allows to sell such products and you can buy it in any construction store.

I sent them the law and also sent them emails from police department where police tell us that our products is fine in terms of law.

It was okay, we thought maybe Stripe really have own laws and we really believe in this issue, but then I go to our competitor's website and see that they have totally the same products (even by article), same type of products and they even selling real weapons. Try to guess who they have as payment provider - Stripe.

Nice job Stripe! You are killing small companies and gives opportunity to your friends to grow a business!

WORST Customer experience and follow-ups

Contacted Sales to migrate all our businesses to Stripe with BBPOS & Web.
Got in touch with a rep very quickly...then..all went down...

He passed my request along to his colleague.
In the meantime the 1st rep was fired...
I sent 6 emails total to get in touch with the 1st rep and his colleague during 1 month !!!
After 25days I finally got an Out Of Office to tell me he was gone...

FINALLY the colleague answered me after +30days BUT... 2days after goes on holidays and NO BACKUP to continue with me !

We managed to advance and sign contract.
Answering my question was a PAIN because our Key Account took 3/4 days to answer back...

Signed bi-lateral contract on 18/08 and till 20/09 NOTHING was set from Stripe !!
Purely illegal !

Stripe Tech is good.
Products are nice.
But the Customer Experience is HORRIBLE...

No ones takes time to follow up with you.
They are 100% digital, impossible to get through people, you're always pushed to 6 departments to finally have an answer... it's painful and time consuming ...

Stripe have decided they are holding…

Stripe have decided they are holding 25% funds all new transactions until January 2023 for our business. All because we had a sudden increase on turnover over a short period.
As a small business with freelancers and other outgoings this is simply unacceptable and unsustainable for us. They are trying to justify this because of potential refunds our customers might need.. However because the increase was due to live streaming of a digital event, refunds will not be given to customers anyway. Has anyone else had this issue?
Stripe are no longer responding to us. So we are looking to make this as public as possible.
Additional what's happening to the interest on the funds being held by them?
This seems to be similar to Esty issue on the BBC not long ago?

Complete Misclassification of My Business—A Cautionary Tale

I can't express how disappointed and frustrated I am with Stripe's handling of my account. I run a legitimate digital coin reselling business for the Tango.me platform, and Stripe outright closed my account stating that I was dealing in cryptocurrency.

Let's get one thing clear: what I deal in is not cryptocurrency. It's a digital currency specific to an app, and in no way a decentralized system using cryptography. The misclassification is not just incorrect but deeply irresponsible. It's almost as if no one on their team actually understands what cryptocurrency is, or worse, they didn't bother to properly review the extensive documentation I provided.

This ordeal has made me question the competence of Stripe's review team. I've been entirely transparent, even providing direct contact to the original source to verify my business's legitimacy. And yet, they've ignored all of this and labeled me as a violator of their services agreement. A word to the wise—if you're a small business owner, consider this a cautionary tale. Stripe seems incapable of nuanced understanding, and for me, it's onto legal action and better payment processors.

Best payment platform for both dev and support

Stripe stands as the finest payment solution I've ever encountered. As a software engineer with over 15 years of experience in web and e-commerce, including 12 years in cloud engineering, I've deployed both PayPal, Braintree, and Stripe in production environments. I can confidently attest that Stripe surpasses the other two by a substantial margin. Here's why Stripe is light-years ahead of PayPal and Braintree:

- User-Friendly with Impeccable Documentation: Stripe is exceptionally user-friendly, complemented by impeccable documentation.
- Extensive Features for Advanced Use Cases: Stripe boasts a broader range of features that cater to a multitude of advanced use cases.
- Outstanding UX/UI: The user experience and user interface provided by Stripe are truly outstanding.
- Accessibility for Developers and Stakeholders: Stripe is not only developer-friendly but also accessible to non-technical stakeholders within your organization, allowing them to engage with payment-related matters effortlessly.
- Effortless Creation of Payment and Subscription Pages: With Stripe, you can effortlessly create payment and subscription pages that seamlessly integrate into your website.
- Efficiency in Creating Subscriptions, New Products, and Invoices: Managing subscriptions, adding new products, and sending invoices are all made easy with Stripe.

In my view, Stripe holds the number one position, and I wholeheartedly recommend it without hesitation.

You'll lose your funds with Stripe: Codarab payment plugin Is the best alternative

I created a Stripe account and they suspended my account for no reason despite having provided all the required information and documents. And the most annoying if they reimburse all my customers when I shipped all products with a tracking number. If you use WordPress or WooCommerce, I strongly recommend that you use the Codarab Payment Gateway plugin available on the official website codarab.com to avoid wasting time or money with Stripe. I've used the plugin for over 8 months to accept card payments from my customers and never had a problem with them

Stripe's support Staff is Wonderful

Stripe's support Staff is Wonderful. Unfortunately, what I was looking to be available to do, is not possible for Stripe. Even though I feel it is a simple change, it's not possible, so I will have to move in a different direction. I wanted to be able to code products for sale with full automation, but it's not possible, so we move on.

And Stripe, don't read the above as a criticism. It's not, just an observation. I wanted to sell products directly through you to be like a shopping cart experience, and you're not a shopping cart.

I truly love using Stripe and loved how supportive your staff is. Thank you.

Banned, Ignored After Stripe Atlas Incorporation

I incorporated a company via Stripe Atlas in order to shield myself from liability while executing on a contract that was active at the time, and to perhaps someday offer the same public safety materials that I was manufacturing to other clientele on a sliding-scale or no-cost basis. Thus, I had requested that the company be incorporate as a PBC ahead of the drafting phase for the articles.

Following human review, or so I thought, they created for me a standard C Corporation. "Whatever," I thought. "I'll just spend another $300+ amending the articles." But it seems not to be worth it at this point since Stripe has now banned my account for running one of their restricted businesses. They had just as much information about my business prior to taking my money as they did following completion of the entire process with Atlas, Delaware, and the IRS.

Because Stripe was forcing me to very quickly setup a public-facing website in order to maintain a healthy account status, and because the contract that I had came to a close which left me with a surplus of direct materials in chemicals manufacturing, I setup a store on Shopify for the products that they were just fine with me selling to one client, and which do not fall under their list of restricted business per the terms agreed upon from the start, nor as they exist today.

"Fine," I said, "then I will just pivot this company to another market since I have plenty of ideas to capitalize on." The appeal was not even read, seemingly, by Stripe. I waited some time to get one of the most robotic human responses (canned) that I have read this week.

Last week, it was the same verbiage almost exactly from Mercury, who closed my business bank account for no stated reason whatsoever than "internal policy and processes that we cannot detail further." I was referred to Mercury by Stripe, and I am noticing weirdnesses with other related accounts too (that I opened via Stripe). I am wondering at this point if they have me on a blacklist or something, because there was absolutely nothing to warrant this. This entire thing has been a major headache.

I'm now out the cost of incorporation via Atlas, banned from Stripe for no valid reason, and on top of all that, the corporation cannot even be leveraged for other uses because it's being treated as toxic, like everyone got some memo.

No matter what, Stripe owes me back their own fees at a minimum (that is, what they didn't pay to Delaware), but really it should be the whole thing. I thought that Stripe was a solid company before, but their negligence while incorporating my startup, coupled with their frankly immature non-replies to my very serious questions about business, have shown me what they're all about in truth.

Hope someone reads this and decides to go with a more trustworthy and reputable avenue—and substantially cheaper—like Clerky (top choice), Harvard Business Services (cheap, professional), or even something easy like Incfile (have not tried). You'll get more for your money, and the people who help you incorporate (or, in the case of Stripe, try to fit your company into a one-size-fits-all model that is definitely just designed for Silicon Valley tech startups and nothing else—and the other guys won't ban you from the Internet, basically, rendering your new company totally worthless. Heed my warning or don't — will leave that up to the reader. I got screwed, but your mileage may vary. Clerky is safer and provides a higher quality of care by far.

Why doesn't anyone answer me

Why doesn't anyone answer me? I've been asked to write to "heretohelp" and I've sent 4 e-mails and no one has replied!

I have NO disputes, and they've blocked my account for no reason, because my company is "at risk"? I don't understand, I only sell legal products, accepted by Stripe, I have no disputes and I'm blocked?

I'd like someone to answer please!
