The transaction fees are really starting to eat into my margins. Support is also much slower than it used to be. Had some issues getting the API to play nicely with my site.

FROM ServTec.Info BE WARNED they are very disorganised. They have a lot of marketing information that they are quick and easy to setup, accepted everywhere etc etc. But we just wasted 3 days creating and verifying our account, adding a bank account and credit card, creating sales products, descriptions, shipping rates etc, creating payment links, testing and using up our Claude AI Pro tokens modifying web pages and posting the "Pay by card" links/buttons in to many web pages. ALL THAT TO RECEIVE AN EMAIL THIS MORNING FROM STRIPE SAYING THAT THE ACCOUNT IS BEING REVIEWED PENDING ACTIVATION!!! Their Support email redirects to an AI. The AI said it is all active and OKAY, but on logging in, the system says I cannot accept payments until the account is verified! THEY CONFLICT THEIR OWN INFORMATION ;(

If your company is new, don’t even think about opening a Stripe account. Once you open one, even if you sell completely legal products, they may classify your business as high-risk and terminate your account. If you have any funds in your account, they may refund them to your customers, even if you have already shipped the products to them.
This is exactly what happened to our company. Our website has all the required legal pages, our products are completely legal electronics, and the website itself was professionally built with a significant amount of money invested into it. Despite all of this, only a few days after opening our Stripe account, they suddenly terminated it and classified our business as high-risk.
So does being a new company or having a website that has been operating for less than a month automatically mean that the business is high-risk? Apparently, this can happen even if you have not received a single transaction yet and your account is still completely new.
What makes the situation even worse is the support. There is no phone number to contact them directly. You are basically limited to email, and even then, you may receive an AI-generated response. Even after requesting a review, you can end up receiving the exact same generic explanation without any meaningful details about what actually caused the decision.
For this reason, I personally would be very careful about recommending Stripe Atlas to someone whose main goal is to set up a new company and immediately use Stripe. Opening a company through Stripe Atlas does not guarantee that your Stripe account will be approved or remain active. A new business can still be classified as high-risk and have its payment account terminated shortly after opening.

My account was suspended in March 2026 , it has been upto 5 month and I have funds in account. Still strip didn't release my funds ,I tried to contact multiple times with support team but always got a automatic message that your account has been disabled and any funds will refund to customers within 5 days after account disabled. It has been 5 months, we was already delivered products to customer, customers never make any issue but strip doing very unfair things .
Now waiting for my available funds in account when it will be released to me but no ETA , trying to contact with support team but unfortunately worst CST ever .

The fees for disputes are absolutely insane and taken instantly, on top of that you take even more after the case if its lost. Furthermore they have insane high transaction fees, hide all their features behind paywalls and only care about taking your money. Greedy as hell company with no care for small businesses! NEVER Do business with Stripe. Not worth it. I got hit with a ton of disputes from fraudulent users testing credit cards, on even a 2 dollar product you get hit with 30 - 60 euro in fees, I've now lost 280 euro for 3 digital products costing a few dollars only to get in the positive so i can close my acc. Stripe Radar also only blocked some of this users purchases even if the user used the same email each time! Their system is flawed. Be careful.

First, I incorporated my company through Stripe Atlas.
Second, I use Mercury Bank, a setup facilitated by Stripe’s guidance; all my funds are deposited into my Mercury account.
Third, to ensure smooth payment processing via Stripe, I have always strictly required my staff to deliver top-quality products and avoid any disputes with customers. Ultimately, however, a single customer initiated chargebacks on four separate orders, leading Stripe to perceive a high level of risk.
Fourth, Stripe could have contacted the customer—via email or phone—to inquire about the specific reasons for the refunds. (To my knowledge, this customer frequently requests refunds after shopping on various platforms and is not a high-quality customer.)
Fifth, Stripe withheld 30% of my funds as a rolling reserve. I did not consider this unreasonable, as I was confident there would be no further refunds or chargebacks.
Finally, Stripe announced its intention to refund the entire amount to the customer. This is absolutely shocking! I have already incurred significant costs—including advertising, merchandise, logistics, and employee wages—and as a user, I must defend my legitimate rights. This is my fundamental right!

I'm publishing this review after experiencing another serious problem involving a payment processed through Stripe.
The latest incident concerns Kling AI, which attempted to process a USD 728.64 recurring charge to my credit card through Stripe for an alleged annual subscription renewal that I do not recall knowingly authorizing.
Fortunately, my card issuer declined the transaction for security reasons.
Kling AI’s own account interface currently identifies the payment method as Stripe and states that the subscription is “under renewal,” creating concern that further payment attempts may occur.
I understand that Stripe acts as a payment processor and that the merchant — in this case Kling AI — may ultimately be responsible for creating and managing the subscription.
However, from a consumer’s perspective, this distinction does not eliminate my concerns.
This is not the first time I have experienced serious problems involving payments processed through Stripe. I have previously encountered situations where payments were successfully charged through Stripe while the corresponding product, service, or renewal was not properly delivered or activated.
Experiencing another disputed transaction involving Stripe has therefore caused me to lose confidence in using this company as a payment intermediary.
I have formally notified Stripe that:
I dispute the Kling AI recurring payment authorization.
I revoke any authorization that may exist for future recurring Kling AI transactions.
I do not authorize further Kling AI charges to my payment method.
I have also requested information concerning any personal information, stored payment credentials, tokens, mandates, or reusable payment mechanisms associated with me that remain under Stripe’s control.
As a Brazilian consumer, I have additionally submitted a privacy request under Brazil’s LGPD (Law No. 13,709/2018) requesting deletion, blocking, anonymization, or restriction of personal information wherever legally applicable.
I recognize that Stripe may be legally required to retain certain transaction records for regulatory, accounting, fraud-prevention, or compliance purposes. My request does not concern records that Stripe is legally obligated to preserve.
What I want is simple:
I no longer want Stripe storing or enabling the future use of my payment information beyond what is strictly required by law.
My previous experiences with Stripe-processed transactions, combined with this latest incident, have resulted in a complete loss of trust in the company.
Payment processors occupy an extremely sensitive position in the digital economy. Consumers provide them with some of their most sensitive financial information. Transparency, accountability, and effective mechanisms for dealing with unauthorized or disputed recurring transactions should therefore be fundamental.
I'm sharing this experience so other consumers understand why I personally will avoid merchants using Stripe whenever I have a reasonable alternative.
I will update this review if Stripe provides a substantive response, appropriately addresses my privacy request, and clarifies what measures can be taken to prevent further disputed recurring transactions.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Stripe.
After Stripe closed/restricted my account, they refunded money to customers for transactions that had been completed two and even three months earlier. These were legitimate transactions where the products had already been delivered and the services had already been provided.
The customers did not file disputes or chargebacks, and I did not authorize these refunds. I was also not given an opportunity to provide invoices, delivery confirmations, tracking information, customer communications, or other evidence showing that these transactions had been successfully completed.
As a result, some customers ended up keeping both the products or services they received and the money that Stripe returned to them. This caused a significant financial loss to my business because I had already paid for and delivered those products and services.
What concerns me the most is that I was not properly notified before these refunds were processed, nor was I given a clear explanation for why transactions from months earlier were being refunded simply after the account was closed.
I believe Stripe should provide a detailed explanation for each transaction that was refunded, including who initiated the refund, the reason for it, and the contractual basis used to reverse a transaction that had already been successfully completed.
I am requesting a proper review of my case and reimbursement for any funds that were returned incorrectly for legitimate transactions where the products or services had already been delivered.
Business owners should be aware that an account closure can potentially have serious financial consequences, especially when previously completed transactions are later refunded without a customer dispute.

So they respond like bots, first they told me to remove products from my site and they would reinstale my account but all of the sudden they changed their story and gave me a suspension. Liars thiefs, awful human beings. You are basically cooperating with some compilance team that won't even read ur msgs but they have plain text prepared to copy and paste it to you like its a robot emailing.
Anyways. Just cause it became greatly heard abotu Stripe it doesnt mean they are Best, they are true liars and probably can't handle so many customers and get this practice in their own business ethics. Trust me that if you use them, somewhere out of the blue they will shock you with a single email about closing account and then you will be just pasted a robotic text on and on again.

I reported this so called digital wallet Links.com Stripe and their scam artist buddies calling theirselves the New cloutHub to the bank fraud division of the F.B.I. yesterday morning. I also notified my worthless bank Regions that Social Security already agreed to stop sending my checks to them because they just lost a customer! And to anyone who believes this lie that Links.com Stripe is run strictly by robots, is that why an internet search listed human brothers Patrick and John Collison as board members and CEOs, which I also told the F.B.I. as well? I don't normally snitch because usually it's cowardly, but what are you supposed to do when bigger cowards hide behind a computer screen?

I wish I'd have read these reviews before signing up with Stripe.
Absolutely shocking company. I was mislead and misinformed by their agents during the lengthy and complicated application process.
I am now in a position as a new, small, start-up business, where they will not release payments made to my business, through my website, to me.
Customer service is disgraceful.
So far they have wasted hours of my time and I still do not have "my" money for "my products ". How this is legal, I do not know.
Please Avoid this company at all costs.

I had a very disappointing experience as a Stripe Connect platform owner.
Fraudsters created accounts on my platform, completed onboarding, and used them to send fraudulent invoices to stolen credit cards. I detected the activity quickly, froze the account, paused payouts before any money was sent, and refunded the payments I was able to access.
Despite acting immediately to limit the damage, I was informed that my platform is responsible for the resulting fees and negative balances. I understand that payment processors have policies around fraud, but it was frustrating to feel like there was very little consideration for the steps I took to prevent losses.
I also found it difficult to get clear answers about why Stripe concluded my API key had been compromised, as I rotated all keys immediately and found no evidence that my secret keys had been exposed.
Stripe's products and documentation are generally good, but my experience with support during this incident left me disappointed. I would encourage anyone building a Connect platform to fully understand their liability for fraud and negative balances before launching.

WARNING: BAD COMPANY. ABSOLUTELY ZERO WAY TO ACTUALLY SPEAK WITH CUSTOMER SUPPORT. ADDITIONALLY THEY PARTNER WITH SCAMMERS WHO TAKE YOUR MONEY THROUGH STRIPE AND NEVER GIVE YOU THE DIGITAL PRODUCTS. BOTH STRIPE AND THE SCAMMER ARE MAKING MONEY OFF THIS. IF YOU SEE ANY PRODUCT THAT WANTS YOU TO PAY THROUGH STRIPE.....DON'T DO IT!!!!!
EDIT: TO ADDRESS THE RESPONSE FROM STRIPE: I HAVE CONTACTED THE SELLER AND HAVE RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. AM I CORRECT IN THINKING THAT STRIPE MAKES MONEY OFF EVERY SALE ONE OF IT'S "AFFILIATES" MAKES? IF SO, SHOULD YOU NOT BE DILIGENT IN CHECKING ON WHO YOU CHOOSE TO "PARTNER" WITH? IF YOU TOOK A CUT FROM THIS SCAMMERS SALE, THEN YOU ARE SITTING ON SOME OF MY MONEY. I'D LIKE IT BACK. ADDITIONALLY!!! I CAN'T GET TO YOUR SUPPORT BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE TO SET UP AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU AND LOG IN!!! YOUR SUPPORT IS COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE WHO DON'T SIGN UP. WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ME AN EMAIL ADDRESS I CAN CONTACT YOU AT. FOR THE RECORD....THE PERSON THAT SCAMMED ME IS SANTIAGO BILBOA AND IF YOU CAN GET HIM TO RESPOND THE EMAIL I SENT HIM THAT WOULD BE GREAT. HE IS STILL ADVERTISING AND SELLING PRODUCTS HE NEVER DELIVERS.

You haven't replied to my emails in over a year. I have been getting the same automated "We have received your complaint" template for over a year, and you never replied with any thing legal or even clear. I do not understand how what you're doing is legal! I do not know how is it that there's a company like you scamming so many people in public still even operating! I will prepare a collective lawsuit against you! I will not let you take my money or anyone's money for no legal reason!
I am writing this review to document a systematic compliance failure by Stripe regarding Account ID: acct_1M0a4IDeA8ZUP0UY.
Stripe has held my legitimate commercial funds for over two years (since February 2024) without providing valid legal justification.
The factual data of the account is as follows:
* Total Successful Transactions: $3,000 USD across two clear business invoices ($1,300 and $1,700 both on Jan 31, 2024).
* Dispute Rate: Exactly 0.0%. There are zero chargebacks or active customer disputes on the account.
* Documentation: Full legal service contracts and signed agreements exist between my agency and both clients, verifying that they executed these payments intentionally with their own credit cards for marketing services rendered.
Despite having zero disputes, Stripe restricted payouts, forced an unauthorized refund on a historic $400 transaction, deducted $129 in fees, and has frozen the remaining $2,471 of my capital indefinitely.
Our legal counsel issued a formal demand letter to Stripe’s legal department. The response received was a generic automated claiming "payments were not authorized", a claim explicitly disproven by our customer contracts and the zero-dispute ledger. Support channels have now gone completely silent, ignoring all my raised support tickets. I have opened a new case today,
Case ID: em_5qjqex5bldhlowxm2w0a3b5tkpcuu1.
A fintech infrastructure provider cannot arbitrarily retain small business capital for over 28 months without due process while actively preparing for an IPO. This is an unsafe platform for digital businesses. I demand the immediate escalation and release of my $2,471 balance.

Be very careful with Stripe. It's a truly dangerous entity.
My account has been closed and blocked. On top of that, they refuse to return $2,000 USD. There's no way to recover legitimate money that was collected from subscriptions to my SaaS and from the sale of digital products with up to 4.7 reviews on social media.
All this apparently stems from a dispute with a user who simply wanted a refund.
And no: I don't do dropshipping, I don't sell counterfeit products, and the only digital products and SaaS I sell are entirely my own creations.
The worst part: They steal your money, since they don't even refund the user. Their way of operating is highly reprehensible, and I doubt their system will continue to function in the future. It's a shame.
Perhaps others laugh at $2,000 USD or don't care much, but for those of us who aren't scammers and are just small business owners (like me), these things hurt and damage our projects.
Stripe's actions are very disappointing. I've exhausted all avenues of contact with them. I'd love to come back tomorrow to change my review and give them 5 stars, but that's not going to happen. Nobody cares about my case.

I have been using Stripe for approximately three years and always tried to operate my business professionally, respond to customers quickly, and fulfill orders as promised.
After years of using the platform, my account was suddenly classified as "high risk" and payment processing was disabled. While I understand that payment providers have the right to review accounts, I was disappointed by the lack of specific information regarding the exact reason for the decision.
What has been particularly frustrating is that I already delivered products and services to customers and paid suppliers for those orders, yet I now face uncertainty regarding funds associated with my account.
I have always worked hard to maintain customer satisfaction and provide support whenever needed. I would have appreciated a clearer explanation and a more transparent review process before such a serious action was taken.
I am currently providing additional information and documentation for review and hope Stripe will reconsider the decision fairly.
This review reflects my personal experience as a long-term user of the platform.

I had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Stripe.
My company, AwakeHost LTD, is a legitimate UK-registered hosting business providing digital services through a transparent website, WHMCS billing system, invoices, and automated service renewals. Before relying on Stripe, I even contacted their support and asked them to check if my website or business model had any issue. I was told everything looked fine.
After that, Stripe allowed us to accept customer payments. Our system automatically renewed and delivered services after those successful payments. Then suddenly, Stripe marked the business as high risk, closed the account, stopped us from accepting payments, and held the funds.
The most frustrating part is that they refused to provide any clear reason, only saying they cannot share further details. This is extremely unfair because many businesses in the same industry, including hosting companies, domain companies, WordPress-related businesses, SaaS providers, and even data centers, use Stripe without issue.
If Stripe did not want to support my business category, they should not have approved the account or allowed client payments in the first place. Their decision has damaged our company’s reputation and created problems with active clients whose services were already renewed.
I requested them to either reinstate the account or immediately refund the affected customer payments so I can ask clients to pay through another method. Holding funds for months after services were delivered is not a professional way to treat a business.
Overall, this experience felt unfair, inconsistent, and very damaging for a small business trying to operate transparently.

Chaotic Set Up pages. Overly complicated set up.
OMG if Stripe can find a difficult, unintuitive way to present payment set up information they would win a gold medal. It is literally like Pulling Teeth....
I have literally built some of the most complicated Options and Futures trading spreadsheets using advanced math but for the life of me I cannot figure out their terrible links on the payment set up page, where I literally feel like every single intuitive link Stripe could have presented me with has been obfuscated or hidden and you can't find the simple thing you wanted to do.
Do people really have to spend days and days and days wading through all the plethora of info and resources just to set up something that should be ridiculously simple (use a Stripe link on my site, send buyers to Stripe.buy.com, where they read my T&C’s, tick a box to agree, pay and are then sent back to my digital download page) because I am still unsure how to do that and run a test payment and am thinking of closing the account.
I'm not imagining it — Stripe’s dashboard UX is fragmented because there are multiple overlapping products:
Payment Links
Checkout Sessions
Hosted Checkout
Customer Portal
Products
Payment Buttons
Buy Buttons
Payment Element
Embedded Checkout
…and the redirect settings live in different places depending on WHICH Stripe flow you created.
That’s why it is so chaotic to set up. I have literally taken my personal name off the payment cart two times and changed it to my business name but there is it again, my private name in the shopping cart. Also just setting up a simple link to your T&C's on the payment page has been a two hour exercise in futility with two different set up "help" pages to achieve the same task but with different conflicting instructions -- one saying you need an API to have a tick box, the other saying the opposite.
Stripe is TRUELY A NIGHTMARE. How on earth did they get so big being this utterly sloppy and unorganised?
#Nightmare
Stripe replied with: We know the set up "feels" overly complicated. No. IT IS overly complicated #FACT.
So great they are blaming the use for their sh** design.
No wonder it's still rubbish.
Just spent 20-mins looking for a Test Transaction mode. Gave up. TRULY AWFUL DESIGN because they call it "Sandbox."
And when you get "support" to call you - if the call drops they don't bother calling you back even though you haven't spoken to them. When you try and refresh the chat it's fixed on them calling you back so you can't open a new ticket 🤷♂️ 🤦♂️... when I have got a call other times, don't hold your' breath, they don't have a clue and so they refer you waiting for email support.
More nonsense:
"If your payment link was created in live mode it won't work in test mode — you'd need to create a new one in test mode."
What a waste of time. What is the point of that? You have to set up a new dummy payment link, add all you features, add the link to your web page buy button, alter your web hook file to add the dummy plink number...
Just gets worse...
What a lousy poorly designed set up page...
How did they get so big being this cr**?

I am sharing a serious issue we are currently facing with Stripe.
We are a Canadian startup offering digital study materials for actuarial exams. Shortly after our first sales, Stripe suddenly suspended our account and is withholding approximately $4,000 in payouts for 120 days, claiming our business is “high risk.”
We previously filed a complaint, which was closed without any meaningful response or resolution. We have now opened a new case and are requesting a proper manual review by the Risk/Compliance team.
While we understand the need for risk management, this decision appears excessive and unjustified in our situation. Our business is fully transparent: digital products, instant delivery, identifiable customers, a public website, a clear refund policy, and supporting documentation available.
For a newly launched company, freezing 100% of funds for 120 days is extremely damaging and places unnecessary pressure on operations.
At this stage, the lack of communication and resolution is the most concerning aspect of this experience.

Recently started Stripe as a payment getaway for my online store, got 2 orders and after the second one stipe disabled my account, even tho i submitted documents requested such as inventory proof and invoices for where i source the products from.
They will keep those funds locked for 120 days, i cant issue refunds to my customers neither transfer that money to my account.
When i contacted them to issue a refund for those orders they replied that they have to keep those funds locked in order to address any potential disputes.
What disputes ?
There are no other orders and i want them both refunded, i already informed my customers about issues with the payment processor and that those orders will be canceled and refunded.
Please take actions and issue those refunds as there is no reason at this point why you should keep them.
Also, stripe customer service is almost non existent, it looks like if anything goes bad you are on your own.
