Very affordable

The things that made my experience great was the fact that I was able to get an emergency ticket for a great price, especially since my funds were limited.

Avoid this company

It’s been over 24 hours since I booked a flight. The payment page timed out yet they still took the money instantly. I have received no receipt or confirmation other than it is qued for ticketing. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Will be contacting my bank to try reverse charges if nothing is received today and escalating this to the relevant ombudsman.

Confirm flight category before purchase

StudentUniverse sells products they label “economy”. Airlines company translates into basic economy… very misleading since on 2 round trip tickets to Europe, you end up paying an extra $400 for checked bags. but Cancellation is an option; however, not only you have wasted some time in the booking and are extremely disappointed for not going on vacation yet, they charge fees on insurance cancellation! I lost $22+ on 2 tickets; really unfair because I was misled at the first place. Will never use again.

Lies - Damned Lies

4th November recorded call 'yes you can have a full credit for a payment of £100 to be used within 12 months. 6th November 'we've listened to the call and we did say that but it was a lie and you can't'

Update 8th November. Still not doing what you said you would do. Booking ref GYBAES. Your commitment on the phone looks like a contractural agreement (just making sure) and as such I will be taking you (Adam Murray) to court unless you do what you agreed.

Absolute nightmare.

Absolute nightmare.

I purchased a ticket in 2020 which I had to cancel due to COVID. Airline policy at the time didn't offer refunds, and then they did but StudentUniverse was not willing to work with me and only offered to provide a flight credit and provided continued contradictory information.

I then rebooked, only to be dinged $50 for a rebooking fee which was not listed anywhere. They also then took 3 days to rebook and the fare jumped $20 and ate another chunk out of the flight credit.

I have spent nearly over 2-3 hours wrangling with their unhelpful customer support to no avail as I try to use the residual credit for that.

I wish I booked with the airline directly - that was my biggest mistake. Never EVER book with an online agent!

Edit : They have reached out to me and reimbursed the rebooking fee (does it need a negative review?). However, the fare difference still applies and for 2 tickets it resulted in nearly $80-$100 lost just because the CSRs were too slow to rebook and wouldn't allow 2 bookings within the same credit. An ordeal that would've been easily fixed and could've made me a repeat customer with a refund dragged into a 2 year mess and damaged my perception of using OTAs permanently. I am keeping this review up.

StudentUniverse is an amazing platform…

StudentUniverse is an amazing platform for students, and everyone in general, to find the best flight rates available. After searching and comparing flight rates on other websites, I found StudentUniverse to be fairly cheaper than the others with the least layover and number of stops as well. I highly recommend it!

DONT BUY REFUND POLICIES

Student universe uses tripmate for their insurance policies and they're a complete scam. If you look up reviews of tripmate, you will see 1 star across the board. I had leave revoked in the military and had to cancel my trip. 5 months later I am still trying to get my $900 back from this scam. Extremely disappointed in Student Universe for using such a terrible refund company with such a bad reputation. The customer experience is beyond terrible.

Disgusting company

Absolutely thieves. I reserved a booking then it was cancelled just after few hours for no reason and I was told i would get a refund back. The refund was less than the money that was debited and when asked i was told that these are conversion fees and they are not responsible. I am disgusted. Not recommended at all.

I mistakenly booked a flight from…

I mistakenly booked a flight from Chicago to saint Louis Missouri instead of Kansa city Missouri. I contacted student universe about the situation. I was advised to cancel the ticket so I got a “flight credit”that was less than the price I got the ticket. Now it is time to book a new flight to Kansa city but Would you believe they quoted me higher for the ticket than the regular price on the website so I ended up paying double the amount of the original ticket all together. I don’t like thieves, frauds and unfortunately this company has proved to be one. Greed will be the end of this company.

For the tickets (two reservations) canceled and transferred to future travel credits (per airline's policy), you could use them for future bookings. However, you could only use the credits from one of the reservations towards the next flight; the future travel credits need to be used separately, not together with one reservation. As for the fare difference, what you found was basic economy class ticket and we could not downgrade it to basic economy from economy. For more info, please contact our customer service.

Studentuniverse credits are futile

I had to cancel a trip I booked with an airline on StudentUniverse. But Studentuniverse gave me full credits and told me to use them within one year. So I called them again (before the expiry of my credits) to book a trip using my credits. Then comes the most confusing part. They are quoting the trip cost at a much higher price than the actual trip price on their own website itself and also on the official airline site. When I asked about this discrepancy, they said this is the price they could see. With the price they are quoting, I can book a trip on my own without their credits. As both are almost the same. Had a very bad experience with Studentuniverse.

Awesome site.

I found this site by accident while researching a ton of other travel sites looking for an affordable airfare. After I saw what I was looking for, I booked the flight immediately. The web site is very user friendly and the prices are incredible. I will definitely be telling all my friends about you. Thank you for making my life a lot easier.
