We have wanted to have solar for a long time but were put off by the high upfront costs. Sunsave has come up with a brilliant model - no upfront costs and monthly outgoings cheaper than our existing electricity bills. What’s not to love?! Everything has been very transparent and efficient and everyone we dealt with has been helpful and happy to take as much time as needed to work through our questions.

Amazing company to deal with, if you're thinking of Solar and like me didn't want to or can't afford the high costs of paying up front, then this service is wonderful. They run through every detail, what you can save over a time period and for me, a no brainer.
Yes you have to pay a monthly amount over 20 years or if you want to move, you can pass the service on or sell and add the cost to the selling price of the property.
Installation was fantastic and of the highest quality.
Highly recommended and wonderful to deal with.

The product's initial explanation was great; the 20-year payment plan is a strong option for those who want to spread the cost of solar.
My main issue was with the claim of "no hidden costs." I discovered a £3-4k installation cost mark-up for the 20-year plan compared to an outright purchase. Sunsave attributed this to increased risk they take over the long term, but it was not obvious upfront, making it feel like a hidden cost that contradicted their promise. They acknowledged the issue when I highlighted it and offered an acceptable discount.
The physical installation went well, although the installers left a mess of brick dust inside and outside the house.
Post-installation, I've had recurring battery issues over the past three weeks. I’ve had to spot 3-4 problems myself and raise them, leading me to question their proactive monitoring and maintenance service, which appears to be reactive instead. The battery issue is still unresolved and I’m waiting for feedback.
Overall, I would likely recommend this to a friend who can't afford the upfront cost of solar, especially for those needing flexible payment. However, be prepared for potential communication hiccups and inconsistent execution in their post-install service.

Further update - December 25 - Sunsave pulled out all the stops, have now installed and we’re well away. Overall a five star experience- thanks Sunsave and Pippa especially. Update- a few days after posting this review Sunsave reached out to discuss and have managed to organise an alternative product which can be provided. So far this is really promising and contracts have been installation is booked so I will delete and report back on the project soon. Thank you sunsave and Pippa. *Spent a long while researching Solar and were really pleased to find Sunsave. The sales aspect was really good and lots of helpful advice given so we signed all contracts. The issues arose once we’d agreed to proceed and were sent install documents which included very specific instructions as to where we’d like the battery and inverter positioned in the loft (which all documentation to this point had also suggested would’ve been where install would be) and we added photos. This is when sunsave said that their policy had changed and loft installs were no longer possible - they were very apologetic but essentially two months wasted and no real answers from them as to why this had changed just lots of wishy washy comments around regulations. Any alternate options we suggested were again ruled out and the onus was pushed on to us for not complying when literally every document shows tha install will be in the loft. Very disappointing

Sunsave could not have been more straight forward to deal with.
From the initial inquiry, discussion of the options to arranging the installation.
They have responded promptly to any questions.
For my circumstances Sunsave has been my best option.

I finally decided to get solar panels along with a battery. With the cost of energy going up what seems like every other month and also my little part in combating climate change. I use Hive and decided to go with them for my installation along with Sunsave. I’m really impressed with the ease of getting my survey completed and the installation arrangement and completed. I was kept informed along the way by Sunsave. I’m looking forward to seeing a difference in my electricity bills.

It all sounds very plausible but when you do a little digging the arguments Sunsave put forward do not stand up. Firstly the price they quoted me for installation and equipment was twice that I received elsewhere for two fewer panels and a slightly lower spec battery. I accept they will probably replace the inverter and battery over the twenty but those costs would not equate to double. The worst part about Sunsave's sales pitch is they forecast that the price of electricity will increase over the next twenty years by the same amount it did between 2000 and 2020 which they quote as 192%. Industry specialists have told me that electricity prices are likely to drop over the next twenty years because of the increased use of renewables. Predicting future electricity costs is very risky but two specialist suggested a reduction in cost of between 18 - 23%. That means the Sunsave scheme is likely to cost you money. BEWARE. Don't be fooled by the slick operation.

From the consultation through to the support I have received through the year after my first contact with Sunsave, everything has been smooth, friendly and they have been very helpful.
The installation itself was painless. They arrived on the days they said they would. It was completed in the timeframe they advised. The install itself is very neat and tidy, and the install team left no mess at all, and were very friendly.
Post install, the contact from Sunsave has been regular, with views on System Performance, and any questions I have they have answered them quickly and with the detail I needed.
Absolute pleasure to deal with, and the savings I am seeing are significantly more than the projected savings!

Service was great from start to finish we was dealing with Mo predominately and Sophie while Mo was off - took around 8 weeks from initial enquiry to full installation. was really informative and professional all the way through the varying 3rd party contractors are also 5* very clean and definite eye for detail, couldnt praise the electrician enough Tom from Heron had all the time to listen to us and how we wanted the cable routing around the property for it to blend in best and definitely kept it looking neat tidy and professional.

Friendly, useful and most of all honest advice. Genuinely listened to my requirements, gave full and transparent answers (not just the pros but also the cons for my situation). A company completely focused on customer service - can’t recommend more. Thanks to Jonny for your help!

Easy to deal with using top rated products installation was very professional both scaffolding and install. The price was very competitive not the cheapest but sunsave justified the cost by their professional approach kept fully informed on progress through the project

Very helpful from the off, and we’re happy to take the time to explain everything , ordering was easy and we were supported through the whole process, the team that came out to install the equipment were great and explained everything, the install was very tidy. Over all I would recommend Sunsave

Really easy and kept up to date throughout the process. Sophie has been fantastic and answered any questions I had. Henson Electrical who fitted the panels and completed the wiring were first class. The roofer noticed some broken tiles and replaced for me without me asking. Would 100% recommend sunsave.

Very honest about whether it would be worth it or not, wasn’t unless we were getting an ASHP due to our low level of electric use, we are getting one so got the panels and battery. Good comms all the way through and very happy with the install.

Had our system through Sunsave and strangely enough system started having issues just after the two year workmanship guarantee expired
Has cost me fortunes in lost income from the system being down and now they are telling me I need to pay for a new breaker to ensure the system runs properly

From the very first meeting with Jack, I felt confident that I was investing in a high-quality product backed by a passionate and knowledgeable team. He took the time to understand my needs and clearly explained the process, which immediately put me at ease.
The service felt genuinely tailored to my requirements, and Sophie went above and beyond—happily rerunning computations to ensure I was getting the most out of my available space.
The scaffolders were efficient in setting up, and the installation team was not only polite and approachable but also ensured the site was left clean and tidy. I was genuinely impressed by how quickly the system was installed—and I was generating energy the moment the switch was flipped.
Since then, my reliance on the grid has dropped significantly, and I'm already seeing meaningful savings. I only wish I’d installed solar panels sooner, but cost had always been a concern. SunSave has completely changed that—they’ve delivered an affordable, efficient solution to my energy needs, backed by a responsive and professional team every step of the way.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SunSave to anyone considering solar. Their combination of expertise, customer care, and value for money makes them an outstanding choice.

From start to finish the process was very simple and the sunsave team walked me through every step. Answered all my questions and it was also great to speak with the Team. 5 stars for the install team.

I came to Sunsave through Hive. They are more expensive than a conventional installation but offer a monitored, insured product throughout the 20 year plan. One of the most attractive parts to me was the promise of a battery and inverter replacement after 12 years or so when the battery has degraded. As this is one of the most expensive parts of the system, it just seemed like a sensible approach, but unlike normal insurance, you know you will be claiming on this for sure in the future.
The installation was generally excellent. The only issue I had was the amount of debris and rubbish left at the end after the scaffolding was removed. This was dealt with promptly by Sunsave though.
The initial remote survey designed the system with 10 panels. A few days before the installation, I was told it would only be 9 due to my roof shape, and this was further reduced to 8 when the installers went up and realised what they could actually do. This was a little annoying but, again, Sunsave dealt with it well, and in reality, I haven't really noticed much difference in the electricity generation. It just needs slightly longer to charge the battery and, in general use, generates far more electricity than I need so I am selling plenty back to the grid.
The system integrates brilliantly with the Hive app, as well as offering it's own app where I can schedule the overnight battery charge to make use of the cheap rate tariff.
Even my wife, who was very sceptical of the whole thing, is impressed and likes checking out the app to see the free electricity we're generating!
I highly recommend Sunsave and the product they offer.

Excellent service from start to finish. Antonio was excellent to deal with from communication throughout to install and post install teething issues. Really happy with the service and the system.

Honestly couldn’t fault Sunsave Energy at all. From day one they’ve been professional, friendly, and really easy to deal with. The communication has been great throughout — I was kept in the loop at every stage and always knew what was happening.
Edd did an amazing job with the initial design process, taking the time to explain everything clearly and making sure the system was exactly what I needed. Then Antonio was fantastic at keeping me updated all the way through and making sure everything ran smoothly.
The whole experience has been completely seamless from start to finish. Would 100% recommend Sunsave Energy to anyone thinking about getting solar — they make the whole thing simple and stress-free and most importantly easy to understand the savings you’ll make with this system.
