I purchased a Swann 4K MaxRange System on 27th September 2025, it consists of three cameras and a hub. Initially it worked, but was a little temperamental an could take sometime to sync with the hub on occasions. After a few months one of the cameras failed to charge via it's USB-C connection or maintain any charge via it's solar panel. I contacted SWANN technical support and then spent a week answering questions and every time I answered the questions, I had another five questions.
1. Do other devices charge when connected directly to the hub’s USB charging port?
2. Does the device charge when using the recommended 5V 2A adaptor and cable?
3. Have you tried charging the device using a different power outlet?
4. Have you tried using a different cable while keeping the recommended adaptor?
If so, does the device charge?
5. Have you tried using a different adaptor while keeping the same cable?
If so, does the device charge?
6. Does the device charge using the built‑in solar panel, but the battery level continues to decrease?
7. Does the charging symbol (lightning bolt) appear when device is being charged using the built-in solar panel, but the camera still fails to charge efficiently?
8. Is the camera able to charge when connected via cable?
9. Is the camera able to charge when connected directly with the hub using a cable?
10.A clear image of the output rating sticker of all the adaptors used to charge the device.

The camera would not hold a charge and would not charge via the hub or a 5V 2A USB supply. It appeared that SWANN were doing absolutely everything they could to get out of fixing this and the set was not cheap, I stressed that I had no intention of removing the camera from I'd mount every day to charge it, I expected the solar panel to work as with the other two cameras. Eventually Swann came back and asked for proof of purchase and I'm still trying to find my Costco receipt from September last year. I will not be purchasing any further devices from Swann or recommending them to anybody I know.
Further to Swann's comments on 01/05/26....
I obtained a replacement copy of the receipt from Costco and sent it to Swann Technical Support on 28/4/26. From an email I received on 30/4/28 @ 01:17 BST asking for my Postal address, Device Serial Number, P2P ID or Device Name and Proof of Purchase, it appeared that the Costco receipt had not reached Swann. I sent the receipt once again receipt, it appeared that it hadn't arrived so I sent it again. along other information requested. At least one of the emails received on 30/4/26 did say that Swann Technical Team had now done an assessment and identified the camera as being faulty.

Liked the solar wireless MaxRanger4K line of cameras. Swann should add the HDMI output connection to the Base Station that they removed. Also, allow remote and local connection from a PC like version 1.

Good when they work but only 5 out of 6 have ever worked and swann will not replace faulty camera.
To the reply below. The warranty period is now over but we have been chasing a warranty claim for over 6 months and Swann have done nothing apart from tell our installer to upload latest software.

We had a couple of instances with people messing with our cars and bought the cameras to be able to see what happened if it should occur again. The battery last about two weeks before needing to be recharged. The picture quality is great I just wish the audible siren and voice was a little louder. Overall works how I wanted them to and at a decent price.

We bought nine cameras and three hubs for animal security ranging from 50 meters to 300 meters throughout the property. These cameras worked perfectly except one in which the IR shutter got stuck. Swann provided steps to mitigate the situation and it worked. We are very pleased in the cameras performance.

This is the WORST company EVER!!!! The lack of response to my repeated attempts to contact the company. For the past four weeks, I have been emailing and calling the numbers listed on your website on a daily basis, but unfortunately I have received neither a reply to my emails nor an answer to my calls.
The DVR currently installed at my business has stopped working and is no longer connected to my account. As a result, my business is now left vulnerable, and this may place me in breach of my business insurance requirements.
I must also say that I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I have experienced, as it has been far below what I would reasonably expect.
The numbers listed on there website either don’t work or claim that no one is available to take the call.
I’m in the process of making a claim through the small claims court as I am now in the process of having the cctv system ripped out and replaced by a reputable company. Avoid these cowboys at all cost.

Good advice and product seems to work well. Only disappointment was delay in responses to enquiries ... clearly in a different time zone to UK, so often response would come back a day later.

All my cameras stopped working at the same moment. Swann tech (Jude) contacted but there were long periods of silence before she came back to me. She eventually provided a standard set of tests but these all proved inconclusive. After that she seemed to lose interest in finding out why all the cameras should suddenly stop working. This is the second major problem I’ve had with Swann. I’ve now gone two months with no security! That is unacceptable to me so I have had to install a new (different) set of cameras from another supplier at considerable expense and inconvenience.
