Purchased an iPhone in August 2024…

Purchased an iPhone in August 2024 which had a “new” battery in “ excellent “ condition. Battery capacity says 100%. Battery issues started in sept 2025 and now lasts less than 90 mins.
Do not waste your money.

Nice phones. Tricky swappie care.

I’ve used Swappie several times and, regarding the phones themselves, I have nothing negative to say. Every device I received was in very good condition, well packaged, and exactly as described. The refurbished quality has consistently been solid.

However, my experience with Swappie Care was disappointing. In my view, it feels misleading in how it is positioned. When you look closely at the terms and actually run the numbers, the financial benefit is far less attractive than it initially appears. For customers who carefully analyze the costs, it doesn’t really provide meaningful added value.

To be clear: I would recommend Swappie for their refurbished phones. But I strongly advise anyone considering Swappie Care to read the terms carefully and do the math before subscribing.

Awful service and possible scamming

Everything was bad from the beginning. It takes longer than they say, and then they reply that they are lowering the price for something that is not even on the phone. And when you ask to have the phone sent back, you receive a scratched phone without the box, cable, or anything. When you confront them and ask them to send the rest, they send you an extremely long message where it says that they will not use the box for further sale, but they also write that they must return the iPhone and the packaging in the condition they received it in, which is no longer happening. Basically, they just took 300+ euros from me. I extremely do not recommend.

Regarding the timing, our records show your phone was received on February 10th and the final resolution was sent on February 16th. This is exactly 4 business days, which falls within the timeframe we promise. The price was adjusted because the device was marked as "Like New," but upon inspection, our technicians found physical marks that did not meet that specific grade.

In regards to the packaging and accessories, we explicitly state in both our shipping instructions and the terms and conditions (which must be accepted before shipping) that original boxes, cables, and protectors should not be sent. These items are automatically recycled upon arrival for hygiene and logistics reasons and cannot be returned. We return the iPhone itself in the exact condition it was received, but we cannot return the recycled packaging.

Don’t bother selling your phones to swappie

Delighted to sell my iPhone 11 (bought from them for €279) back to swappie, I was offered €90, but here’s the catch once they inspected it they then offered €8 ha ha ha ha ha ha what a great joke!
This could (allegedly) be the greatest scam ever!
I have requested a return without charges as I would rather give it away!

We understand that receiving a revised offer of €8 after an initial estimate of €90 is disappointing. However, we would like to clarify why this adjustment occurred.

The initial offer is based on the condition stated in the online form. In this case, the device was marked as being in "Like New" (Premium) condition. However, our records show that when you purchased this phone from us a year ago, it was sold in "Very Good" condition, which is already two grades below "Like New." Upon our physical inspection this time, the phone showed even deeper marks and wear, which reclassified it as "Moderate" grade.

The price is always subject to change if the actual condition of the phone does not match the description provided. We certainly do not intend to "scam" our customers; we simply offer a price that reflects the current market value for a device in that specific physical state. As requested, we will return the phone to you free of charge.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. They’ve sent me a phone with a faulty battery - I’ve asked for a replacement and they will not send me a temp for the interim. I paid over €1000 euro for this ‘excellent condition’ refurb to which I received a phone with a faulty battery that takes around 5 minutes to open apps

I’ve already transferred all of my content and don’t feel comfortable sending it as it is - I request a temporary phone so I can send this faulty one for repair.

I will never recommend swappie and I will ensure all friends / peers understand the risks associated with+ lack of customer care

We do, however, provide clear instructions on how to back up your data and securely wipe the device before sending it in, so your personal information remains protected.

Please keep in mind that you are fully covered by our Swappie Warranty, which entitles you to a free repair or replacement. Additionally, if you are still within your 14-day return period, you have the right to return the device for a full refund. We want to fix this for you as quickly as possible so you can have the functional device you paid for.

What bying at Swappie concerns : 4 stars. The service is ok . But I'm missing a short manual by delivery.
What selling to Swappie concerns: 1 star . Two years ago I bought at Swappe a phone for 378 euro. Now Swappie wants to give only 8 (eight) euro for this phone.. Just enaugh to buy a candy stick. That is mocking with the customer.

So dissatisfied

So dissatisfied, bought a iPhone less than a month ago, paid extra for new battery and excellent quality and can use the phone properly. Shuts down, freezes, very slow. Not worth the time with this company.

Would not recommend

Would not recommend, as soon you have issue they do not accept warranty. I have paid extra for new batter, which expanded and they did not care to replace it still in the warranty time, due to an unrelated scratch on the screen.

We are very sorry for the frustration this has caused. However, we would like to clarify our policy regarding warranty coverage. We do not void warranties due to normal scratches or signs of wear; however, cracks in the glass or structural damage do void the warranty.

Unfortunately, if the screen is cracked or the frame is damaged, this can affect the internal integrity of the device, including the battery. When a battery expands in a device with existing physical damage, we cannot cover it under warranty as the impact that caused the damage may have also compromised the battery's safety and performance.

We understand this is disappointing, but we must adhere to these safety and service guidelines to ensure the quality of our repairs.

avoid at all cost - phone broke after 2 months

avoid at all cost - bought a reconditioned iphone 14 pro - the phone broke after 2 months from a crack, even though the phone had a case on it. Better to use backmarket, better quality products. They also declined to cover me on warranty - so i lost 600 euros for nothing.

Theft of phone in guarantee repair

We send a phone in for guarantee repair of the camera. The phone was without scratches of importance.

Within a half day Swappie decided to send a new phone in stead of making a repair.

The phone, we received, was full of scratches and all surroundings of the camera were broken. It was a phone in worse condition that the poorest phone shown on their webside.

I will call what Swappie did theft.

Naturally, phones within the same aesthetic category may have slightly different marks, but they should always meet the standards of that specific grade. If you consider that the replacement you received is not the correct grade or is in worse condition than your original phone, please contact us at info@swappie.com and provide pictures of the damage.

Really satisfied!

Swappie was a really positive experience for me. After checking the price on the website I ordered the special box for my phone. The package arrived next day! After sending it back I received anotification that my phone arrived and they started the checking procedure. 2 days later they confirmed that I will get the maximum offered amount. And 3 days later I received the money. I am really satisfied with the price and the timing.
