System 76's selection of hardware is 'right-on' and exceeds expectations. Kudos for that! Everything works as expected. Since I am a long-time Linux user (This is my 5th Sys76 purchase) I was not agha... See more

System76 customer/tech support has always been outstanding. Their people actually know something about their machines and how to diagnose and repair them! And, of course, they are friendly and helpful. Oh, and no stupid, useless "AI assistants" to deal with. All-in-all, the best customer support I've dealt with in decades.

I was in need for a new laptop and found system76 through research about Linux computers. I was tired of windows and didn't want to deal with Microsoft's BS anymore. Also, not an apple guy either. Reading all the info and watching a review video on their website made me curious about Linux and decided, lets do it.I received my Lemur Pro and was impressed with how little it weighed compared to my Samsung of the same size. I knew nothing about Linux and had a few trail and errors while figuring out the system. I even had to reboot it once due to a program error I put in. I've had my laptop for about two weeks now and absolutely love it. Once you get the hang of Linux, the differences are very slight compared to windows. If you're looking for a new laptop/computer, want to switch from windows or Apple, I would encourage you to order a System76. You won't regret it.

System76 went above and beyond in helping me know my options and in answering my questions.
Also, my first choice ended up not being right for me, and their very generous return policy made it easy to get the right setup.
At some point in the future, I plan to get a proper workstation, and I’ll definitely be coming to System76 first.

The website made it easy to configure and customize the laptop, with a simple and intuitive interface. Shipping was fast, which was critical given my urgent deadline to get my hands on the system. It’s also reassuring to know that Ubuntu Linux runs smoothly on the hardware without any issues. Based on this experience, I would definitely order from System76 again. (and thanks to the blogger that wrote about them).

Laptop came defective, I asked for replacement right away but was told I had to pay customs duties again which was extremely expensive, so I just ended up being left with a premium priced hunk of junk that never got any use, I will never buy from this company again and will highly recommend looking elsewhere :(

The purchasing process was smooth, seamless and fast. The laptop is great! Excellent value for the price and everything just works straight out of the box - impressive! Nice work System76!

Laptop build and delivery was swift even with me ordering from UK and customer services responded to me within the day so any questions I needed answered were done quickly. The laptop itself is excellent and great for development work.

Quick and effective!
(BTW, you don't need to remind me upfront to be "honest, helpful, and constructive." Assuming that I may not be is impolite, aggressive, and arrogant.)

Bought a Thelio Prime Custom desktop and Launch Heavy 3B-BR keyboard with Linux Ubuntu. This is replacing a Windows 7 desktop that has lost software update support. I am glad to finally make the transition from Windows to Linux. The new desktop is so much faster than the old one, I'm glad that I chose an entirely new machine, rather than try to change the OS in the old computer.

The system76 pangolin is a linux dream. The company even included a personalized "thank you" note in the box

For the most part, everything is well documented. Some of their documentation could use updating. In UEFI setup, there are some things which seem like they should have been filled in by Sys76, like serial number. This is a Thelio Mira (custom) with a Ryzen 9 9950X, 32G RAM, one M.2 SSD, idles at only about 40W so I'm really happy with that. It is so great that Sys76 open sources what they can (for example, drivers for their custom controller connected thru USB; seems they may have an NDA with AMI for their UEFI). What's great is their support for that, which they give instructions (although not official support) for getting their software to work with other than Ubuntu and Pop!_OS. Heck, they even have some Windows drivers and general guidance if you need that! (meaning, they'll point you in the right direction and provide the files, but no official support)

I am very pleased with the beast of a PC that I ordered. The quality is fantastic. The time that it took for the PC to ship, 6 days, was surprising since I ordered a pre-configured. However, the experience is worth the wait.
Thank you System 76 for this quality build and the Cosmic desktop.

Bought a maxed out Thelio Mira at over 5000 canadian dollars after taxes, what I got was a user machine, not a workstation.
Where do I start? Well, computer took about 2 months to arrive as I recall. Also, pay attention, because unlike a lot of distributors abroad, they won't charge you taxes and your shipment will get stopped at the border where you will have to arrange for tax payment.
Half the ram went bad within 1.5 years (not a hard crash, more subtle than that enough to slip past the warranty period). The technician (I trust him) told me the RAM they provided was cheap.
The machine crashed a lot at first because the System76 drivers where not really compatible with Ubuntu 24.04 (from end 2024 to mid 2025 where I stopped installing them anyways). It took a couple of reinstalls before I realized it was the System76 drivers and my machine was stable after I stopped installing them.
Beyond that, I have a couple of second-hand Dell poweredges, an Asus Tuf gaming machine and aging Lenovo D30 for comparison and compared to those machines, the inside of the Thelio Mira feels like an art project. Countless steel components and screws (good if you intend to smash your computer with a baseball bat, not so much if you want to access most components in a timely fashion) and unlike all my other machines I worked on so far, the Mira won't boot unless the external casing is on (no quick troubleshooting without having to put things back on for you sir).
Oh yes, and the BIOS doesn't have hardware diagnostics. Unless you want to unscrew everything and pop out your RAM to test it elsewhere, you need to run RAM diagnostics while the OS is running (really not ideal). If there had been a BIOS diagnostics, I might have identified the RAM problem before the warranty ran out.
Also, the PSU they ship with is conservative. Be prepared to change that if you significantly want to upgrade your GPU for something that consume more power (you'll be cutting it very close).
I'm definitely buying my next workstation from a local distributor. Just more accountability.
I'll give it 2 stars because the machine is powerful and having a flip switch for the nvmes is neat.

Took care of a warranty issue with a high level of attention. Shipping was no problem (free). Good communication on the resolution. Clearly they care about the customer.

Works perfectly! Runs like new where I don’t even hear the fan. It even came with thermal paste pre-applied.

It was a great experience! They were fast and responsive! I'd recommend System76 for any custom build!

The laptop is great, but the 2 laptops that I have ordered where delivered with issues to use snap and firefox.
