Don’t use this company

Been with system mechanics for at least 14 years, I’ve just cancelled my subscription, I paid my renewal and unbeknown to me I’d signed up for another product. After a free trail they charged me, after contacting them twice they refuse to refund me, saying it’s company policy. Not happy. Be careful and check before you pay

System mechanic

Purchased advertised system . Could not apply system, they gave me a telephone number in USA which my mobile cannot contact, so they asked for my number which I gave 3 times, they claimed there was no answer. Rejected a refund said system was suited for windows not android. Which is incorrect as it states on website can be connected to android. Terrible company, consists of lists and incompetent advisors. NEVER purchase from them. I will be letting all social media sites know of these cowboys

Ghastly and highly dubious experience

I’ve been a satisfied System Mechanic customer since 2008.
I responded to an ‘add time’ offer.
The product stopped working on two independent machines a day later.
Contacting customer service via the ‘chat’ it was apparent an expensive ‘live tech’ subscription had been added which I insisted be cancelled.
Then followed a prolonged, intense, almost aggressive sales pitch for ‘Ultimate Defense’ which was guaranteed to solve all my problems immediately, then for three years.
I eventually relented and paid another $100 in hope of an immediate solution.
The agent took online control, could not install the software, immediately gave up and opened a ‘ticket’ for me to be called and I waited by the phone.
The call never came, but subsequent emails stated that there must be a security block of their system on my phone service. I should contact my phone company or alter settings on an iPhone (or make costly USA calls).
This stinks to any reasonable person.
I had a working product. Iolo took about uk£100 from me over about a week and left me with a product that will not load, run or uninstall..
Make your own interpretations!
Meanwhile, I doubtless face financial and software battles to extract from this mess.
Caveat emptor!

The System mechanic together with the…

The System mechanic together with the antivirus works well. However, they force you to 'renew' an annual subscription despite having over 700 days left of the old subscription. I've had to contact my bank to get my money back (I had emailed iolo I hadn't wanted to 'renew' before the date, but it was not effected). Secondly, the same company produced Getmydrivers, which is basically malware. Do not ever install that in your windows PC as it will make it unusable - I ended up having to reinstall windows (I'm sure that the 'customer support' would 'help' for an extra fee, but I know how to fix my PC, thank you very much).
CAUTION ADVISED!

Company software goes from bad to worse,

Unable to contact company without telephoning but after writing a * report on this site I had a quick response and was referred to someone who helped, However, after the problem was temporarily solved another arose. When choosing Advanced Uninstall the page loads but will not scroll down so you cannot find the program you want. I did suggest the company might repay the unused portion of my subscription but needles to say I have not had a response. Uninstalling and installing again makes no difference. This company is an absolute shambles.
Update, I thought I would give their Pro system a try but the result was the same and it was impossible to scroll down the Advanced Uninstall list. There is no easy contact facility, apart from a phone call (probably expensive) and so I removed the program and its associated programs and installed CCleaner Free instead. This has been hightly recommened and it does its work much quicker and since removing System Mechanic I do not get the same errors repeated every time, even after running the program within a few minutes. I have lost the money for the unexpired portion of the subscription but it is well worth it to free myself of all the frustration.
