What a joke. Turns out, if you actually need anything, you have to see a psychiatrist in-person. This is no different than those online minoxidil or glp-1 factories. I'm honestly disgusted. One questi... See more

Highly Recommend

I have found Talkiatry to be both convenient and genuinely effective in helping me manage my medication. My provider is highly knowledgeable about both established and newer medications, including how they interact with other treatments and their potential side effects. He is thoughtful and cautious in his approach, while also being open to my input and respectful of my experiences with what has and hasn’t worked for me. I feel comfortable speaking with him and never feel judged, which has made a meaningful difference in my care.

This is a scam and extremely unsafe

This is a scam and extremely unsafe. Despite several attempts to recieve a prior authorization, none was given. They did not fill out form but continued to have you make appointments so could collect money. Don’t waste your time.

Big Scam

My first appointment, they canceled and then falsely claimed it was because I was late. Then they charged me $100. I could not dispute this charge. What a terrible company.

My provider is very caring and…

My provider is very caring and professional. She makes you feel at ease and really listens to you. She has made many helpful suggestions and adjusted my medications which has made an improvement in my mental health.I feel so grateful to have found her. The connivence of being able to see a wonderful doctor in the comfort of your own home is another positive reason I love Talkiatry.

Just relax and talk

The schedule is easy and done from my own home, it feels more relaxed. Therapy is not easy, I do not enjoy talking about myself, however this process is simple.

I love my psychiatrist!

My psychiatrist knows exactly what to do to help me feel better when I tell her what has been going on with me! I love her, she is the best I’ve had since I started seeing a psychiatrist.

No email back

They told me that my insurance no longer covered services 2 hours before my appointment. Their calls confidently drop, causing me to start over new and wait over
30 min to connect with someone. I asked 2 agents to make sure everything pending was canceled and they still didn’t cancel one of my therapy sessions and are trying to charge me for a missed session although I already canceled it. I emailed them because connecting over the phone is such a hassle. They asked me to verify my identity and then never replied despite my follow up. Conveniently, they still try to call to set up and appointment so their customer service couldn’t possibly be that busy. The providers are great but talkiatry itself is a nightmare. May as well shop around clinics in your area

Negative stars if I could

Negative stars if I could. I had exactly one session and was billed $660! I talked with the doctor and was immediately shut down because of a kidney issue I had three years ago. All he said was to talk to my primary about local services. I wasn't even looking for a medication change!! $200 of the bill was for "Additional supportive therapy - 90833" There was NOTHING supportive during our conversation. If anything it was detrimental and discouraging. This place has some serious shady billing practices. Makes you wonder what other shady things their up to!?

Disgusting

Disgusting, being healthy is for the wealthy. Over $700 for the initial visit and the Dr was pushing me to schedule weekly sessions. I didn't get the first bill until 3 weeks later! I would be over $1500 in debt to these people by now! These doctors should be embarrassed at the mental stress and anguish they're causing people who are just looking for help. Disgusting

Their system is awful

Their system is awful. They don't help you when there are issues. The only good thing about Talkiatry are their providers. I have made appointments that just end up disappearing. I have had my meds sent to incorrect pharmacies, or not sent at all. I have sent complaints and no one responds.

DO NOT USE!! Extremely expensive and not helpful

Ridiculous pricing, Dr. was over 10 minutes late to the appointment. There was no explanation of the cost/fees upfront. My insurance company covered $267.35 for my initial appointment and I received a bill for the remaining amount of $390.65. $658 for an initial consultation is extremely expensive and uncalled for. My visit didn’t even last the whole hour and the doctor was late. I was told on the phone beforehand that my visit would be covered by my insurance and during that call there was no mention of any additional fees. I received no emails regarding fees after setting up my appointment. This company may help some people but to me it feels like a scam. If the company is a scam then shame on Talkiatry for preying upon those who struggle with mental health issues!

Book your appointment today!

Talkiatry makes everything so easy. Especially if you are new to therapy or hesitant. I highly recommend! I have had several visits with Wayne McIntosh and I am very happy with our sessions and treatment path. Take the plunge and book your appointment!

These are predators

These are predators, stay away. They advertise low-per session costs, but it's quite the opposite. Absolute scam. Be ready to pay $700 dollars for your first visit.

Docors are inexperienced

Not only is the scheduling dept. completely incompetent, but the doctors themselves are inexperienced. One doctor actually told me to cut a 300 mg pill in half, despite my explicitly stating that I should be slowly and safely weaned off this medication. Even I knew that recommendation was inappropriate.

On top of that, my appointment with one physician was cancelled without proper notice and I was arbitrarily reassigned to another doctor. This is unacceptable—especially considering I rearranged my entire day for the specific doctor I requested.

The lack of continuity of care, poor clinical judgment, and disorganization reflect a serious disregard for patient safety and professionalism.
Cheap is expensive and expensive is cheap-I would rather pay out of pocket than deal with doctors who don't diagnosis, rather, just medicate.

Talkiatry. BIG mistake.

I tried Talkiatry expecting competent psychiatric care and an experienced clinician able to handle complex cases with professionalism. Unfortunately, the provider, Dr. Hannah Goddard to whom I was assigned was very inexperienced and did not demonstrate an understanding of my history or current needs.

Important details were overlooked, and the recommendations I received were generic and poorly suited to my situation. It was clear she lacked the depth of psychiatric training/experience required for nuanced or treatment-resistant cases.

This had real consequences for my care, including delays in appropriate treatment and much unnecessary stress during a time when I needed clarity and stability.

Patients considering Talkiatry should know that you may be matched with a provider who lacks the expertise you require. If your case is at all complex, or you need someone seasoned, I recommend looking elsewhere. The model appears to prioritize quick matching over clinical competence.
