I can't think of any appropriate words to describe the tech team of Tangerine other than utterly incompetent.
There was no quality control during the provisioning process and our service was incorrectly set up. For a simple error, Tangerine sent an NBN technician who quickly identified it and reported to Tangerine, after which no rectification was made. No substantive progress had been made for over four weeks before we decided to move on to another service provider, which completed the provisioning within 12 hours in stark contrast to Tangerine's struggle. Towards the end of our ordeal we learnt from Tangerine's tech team that Tangerine does not have in-house engineers and the provisioning was contracted to a third party, hence the unacceptable delay in fixing the errors.
Do not use this service provider - if something goes wrong it will not be capable of resolving it without substantial delay. The sign up discount was not worth the grey hair.

I have their NBN and Sim plan. They suck big time. Internet speed I have is 100/20 but I get 50/5 but the main thing is I can’t believe it even buffers the instagram reels. Who does that? Wherever I go in the Gold Coast I get one to 2 signal bars. Looks cheap but theg suck. Please avoid. Their portal is very bad too.

I have been without internet for 2 days and contacted tangerine to verify the issue. They put me through to accounts who advised that they had cut my service since I hadn’t paid the ( newly added GST amount of $15)? I paid the February bill but hadn’t noticed that it had been increased by $15 ( new GST). No notification was sent to notify that my service was going to be cut! Having paid it this morning, I have now received a text from them that if I don’t pay my March bill ( due on the 22/03/25 ) my service will remain cut.

There is nothing unique or Groundbreaking about tangerine this is a standard telecommunications company experience. They are extremely quick to sign you up, the first month fee is very quickly deducted from your credit card as any future payments. However, when it comes to actually delivering the service you signed up for the company is non-existent. After I ordered the NBN, they did send me a modem so at least for my my money at least I do have that. However, I have no Internet because despite getting my modem and they have taken the first month to fee the Internet is not activated. I called their call centre and of course their computer system doesn’t recognise the passcode they sent me so I have to wait forever to speak to someone online after talking to them for 20 minutes. They cannot help me and so they transferred me to someone else. After another 20 minute hold the person they connect me to has no idea who I am or Way I’ve called and I have to repeat everything all over. They are completely useless and unable to help me. And so they attempt to transfer me to another team. I told them I’ve had enough and I need to hang up and actually go to work. I’m already running late. They promised to send a priority email activating my account. The email is never come. I’ve paid tangerine. Hundreds of dollars and have no Internet this is the standard telecommunications experience. You can expect from any other provider unfortunately I’m just gonna have to keep searching for a telecommunications provider that actually will provide me with Internet as well as take my money. I’ve lost all Hope.

I had no issues with my first order with Tangerine, but I recently moved to a new address within the same city and it's been a nightmare to get my internet connected. I requested the mobility over a week ago, contacted their support team via chat and phone call and absolutely nothing happens. The only thing they tell me is that I need to "wait 24h to 48h" and I guess just hope for the best. If internet is not connected by then, call again and probably wait longer.
My wife and I depend on the internet to work and this experience has been extremely disruptive. If I knew it was gonna be this hard, I would've switched to another provider.

Great deal for the first 6 months. But a disaster in everything else!
1) Daily regular internet connection drops (not wifi, not user devices, their fault). Impossible to use for online gaming - every time I forget to turn off my wifi and switch to mobile data during online gaming, I am reminded pretty quickly by dropping out of the game due to connection drop. Also there's much more lagging during the game.
It is so bad that even audio (no video) conversations over messengers are consistently interrupted and I am out of them for 5-20 seconds. Embarrassing.
2) Support is awful:
I raised 3 tickets. They blame me. No written responses. They always call. Then they identify you, as hard as for the bank wire transfer (full personal data and text-code!). Although they're calling the number registered in the account...
After each call they close the ticket regardless of your conversation and you don't have any trail of resolution.
Because there is NO resolution.
Shame on me, always forgetting to check reviews before making a deal with the new company.
3) Among the 4 recent providers I've been serviced at the same address, same wifi router, same everything, none of them had such serious problem.
Considering they provide access to the same NBN connection as any of the providers, I assume they throttle the connection deliberately. There's no other explanation.
Even during me typing this review and trying to download a file - the connection dropped at least 5 times. I'd say it happens every 2-5 minutes for 5-30 seconds each interruption. Not only when you download, but also when you browsing internet! It's just that during downloading you can actually notice the drops.
Upd1: Shortly after posting a review here (don't know if it's a coincidence or not) I got a call from the support, they suggested changing a few things in the settings (switch to Google DNS, change DTIM Interval to 5 and
Beacon Interval to 50) - it has nothing to do with the kind of connection drops that took place - but after that call no drops at all, not during games, not during calls, not during downloads.
Although I do see occasional lagging in games - which can in fact be the reason of changing the aforementioned Wifi settings :)
But I'm glad they fixed the drops, it was a shame.
Upd2: Good time didn't last long, only for about a week. After that - all the problems again with one being: not possible to download anything without data transmission drop.
I moved interstate and was charged for my new house AND the old house for 4 mths!
I have been given the run around for months, trying to get a refund, with wasted hours and hours on the phone.

Absolute rubbish - internet connection was so slow and inconsistent, with constant dropouts, to the point that we were basically relying on our mobile data even at home. Even a simple scroll on social media was too much for tangerine to handle.
Not only that but their own payment portal was super unreliable, often leaving me unable to pay my bill because of a glitch on their website.
We persisted for 6 months and kicked ourselves every month that we didn’t switch providers.
Don’t fall for the low prices and fun advertising - the bargain is not worth the complete incompetence.
EDIT: GOOD LUCK LEAVING!
Cancelled my plan prior to the next billing period, received confirmation email that my service had been cancelled, have since been billed for two months I haven’t even been connected for. Customer service still have not got back to me.

I was with Tangerine for 12 months in 2024 - early 2025, in an NBN FTTP situation in Sydney on a 120/20 plan (noted they don't offer this anymore). The initial setup was great, fantastic and friendly tech to setup and that was my last interaction for a long time. Over the few months of 2024, I would usually get about 35-45/18 at most times. Constant drop outs. Couldn't do teams calls with video. Tried to call support to improve the situation, albeit too late, and all they did was reset the NBN modem and my own router and suggest upgrading my router firmware (which I had already done). Support seemed disinterested and just stuck to text messaging. I decided to churn away, with a months notice. The day before my churn (they had a whole month), they tried to contact me to offer a cheaper rate - the rate of my new provider is still last for double the speed. I'm now getting easily 180/20 with a new provider for the same price. BYE TANGERINE.

Not even a customer yet, on hold for over 40 mins to speak to sales, you snooze you loose.
Too many disruptions/outages in the internet connection. Unacceptable that i've had three dropouts today . ( 10am to 10.40am ; 14-15pm, 16-16.30 pm). I was told on my last phone call with the Technical dept that i will be made aware of any outages or works, but it does not seem to be the case. And believe me , i will go keep on NOT recommending anyone to Tangerine. I got my kids to sign on to Tangerine but have already advised them about looking for other providers.

Told my internet would be connected today when I signed up 1 month ago. When I contacted them today by phone and what's app they said I would have to wait 3 to 4 days for it to be connected.
They did nothing but waste alot of my time today by putting me on hold constantly. I requested a Manager contact me and he did nothing, kept putting me on hold. I still don't have internet and it is now 6.18pm.

Signed up last night and was ready to go by about 5pm today on NBN. So slow that I can't watch 9Now TV because of massive buffering. After logging in to Trust Pilot on the laptop the internet TV has stopped completely. And this is day one. I don't think we are going to be together for long
Update 2/2/2025:
I had logged a complaint before reviewing on Trustpilot. I restarted all of my equipment this morning* and I am currently experiencing normal speeds without drop outs. I haven't seen any responses from Tangerine outside of their Trustpilot comments.
*I had done this several times already.

God…why haven’t I seen the bloody reviews before getting this shite of connection!!! The customer service is polite but useless. I was told yesterday I would be connected in 24 hours n after 24 hours I called and they didn’t even configure my connection n now they say it will take another 24-48 hours. I work from home n kids have not much to as we moved house. The worst decision I have made.

Constant dropouts with no interest in fixing issues We've been experiencing constant dropouts for over six weeks. It has been logged with tangerine three times. Every time it has been logged by their online portal but I have had to call and waste work time when we receive no response. Outages have been up to 2 days at a time which means we've now spent 110 dollars on excess mobile data charges as we are both WFH. Tangerine also have stayed that they will only credit for the amount of time the NBN is down and no equivalent to what it's cost us in excess mobile data. NBN technician attended the premises after a week outage and suggested us the issue is with tangerine. Do not go with them if you're after reliability or customer support. Anything you save in monthly fees will cost you far more in additional costs for complete lack of service.

Awful experience so far Ordered nbn250 package 2 weeks ago and still have not been connected despite multiple calls in that time. They said last week they would follow up with NBNCo but when I called today it was clear that they had not done so and made the same promise.
spend the extra $10 a month and go with a legit company.

5g data was often quite slow and uploads even more so. After changing to a different provider I was then charged for an entire month that I didn’t use. The service was still cut off but I was still charged.

Tangerine TANGARINE is dodgy, stay away from this company, there resent privacy breach has opened all their customers to scammers with there own financial institutes, TANGARINE will deny this as they do everything, nbn continually drops out and u call them to be told it’s not them it’s your router that they have provided, also they will inform u that they will reset it and guess what it works again for a hour or two, bit coincidental if u ask me, are tangarine working with the scammers? Since there scamming us of a poor service and a useless nbn provider

Do not go with this company. Their speedy 250mb internet pings at 40ms at best and when calling their technical team, they blame NBN connection and ask for you to wait it out, all well knowing its just their service.
They bill on the 15th of each month and charge on the 1st (2 weeks into the month). Then if you decide to cancel, it says in their “Policy” that there is a payment of 1 month that needs to be made and the service also gets cancelled immediately. (PS - if you want to not pay the 1 month when cancelling, do it on the 14th of the month). Good luck for all those who want slum it with this provider.
