I’ve been relying on Technical Merritt for several years, especially since retiring and no longer having an IT department to handle my tech challenges. John is always patient and takes the time to explain technical issues in plain, easy-to-understand terms. Recently, he helped me choose the perfect laptop for my needs and has consistently been knowledgeable and reassuring whenever IT problems arise. He’s local, easy to contact, and has become my go-to person for all technical advice and support!

Had a connection problem on my computer. John sorted it quickly and at reasonable cost. His good humour and patience was also very settling.Thanks

Fabulous same day service from John today, who helped me fix a Microsoft issue, which meant I had no access to my emails. John discovered for me that my email account had been hacked. He recovered my account & helped me on the spot set up an improved authentication process, to reduce the risk of this happening again. 2nd time I’ve used this company and highly recommend. 5 ⭐️

I had an issue with my Lenovo laptop, read a few worrying reviews online ref the issue and decided to visit John at Technical Merritt. John was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and took the laptop in for repair. It was fixed in a few days. I can't recommend John highly enough. Absolutely my go to guy with any further issues. Highly Recommend! The audio on my Nintendo Gameboy SP was no longer working so I decided to get in contact with Technical Merritt. The team was incredibly friendly and helpful, returning the Gameboy fixed in very little time, and at a very competitive price ;). I highly recommend this company for any tech needs.

On the morning of Monday 7 April 2025 I found my desktop PC would not boot up. I dropped it off at Technical Merritt and was very impressed with John's 'can do' attitude. Less than 3 hrs later I received a text saying the PC was fixed and ready to collect. I popped down straight away and collected it. Not only was it much cleaner inside and out but I found the response times so much quicker. John was very friendly and helpful and the price charged was very fair. Definitely a 5* service and would not hesitate to use again as/when necessary. Highly recommended

John was immediately helpful and clearly knows his stuff. My old laptop had stopped working completely. He diagnosed the problem quickly and resolved it perfectly. It was so easy to talk to him and he was honest about what could and couldn't be done and what it would cost. I thought I was going to lose all my data - I lost nothing at all. Thank you so much!

John was really helpful when my son wanted to upgrade his graphics card . This is the third time we have used John and think he really knows his stuff . Charges reasonable prices and is quick to. Won’t hesitate to recommend or use again

we had a problem with our computer and called in to Technical Merritt who have a shop in Croxley Green. I cannot praise John the owner of the company enough. John came down to look at our computer and gave us a wonderful service. We are OAP's and he was so patient with us I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The charges were very competitive as well

The hinge on my Lenova Ideapad 5 laptop had started disintegrating exposing the wiring from the laptop.

John was able to diagnose the problem, propose a solution and costing in 24 hours.

A fully repaired laptop was returned to me in a further 2 business days.

It was an excellent and quick solution to the problem.

Brought my son's laptop in for a graphics issue. John did a thorough examination and concluded the cost of replacement parts would not be economical on the ageing laptop. He undoubtedly spent quite a lot of time but refused to accept any compensation for his time because the problem was not fixed. John is extremely nice and very knowledgeable. The fact he undertook the work and refused payment even though he was able to diagnose the issue is a testament to his honesty. We will without hesitation use Technical Merritt again for any future computer or mobile phone repair issues.

Very pleased to have found this local company. I will be the first to admit I'm not much of a techni but needed my new laptop set up and John sorted it all out for me. He encountered a few hiccups along the way but managed to get it all up and running for me.
I would happily use this company again.

Looking for someone to build my Gaming PC and "Technical Merritt" did just that for me :)

Found "Technical Merritt" via Google after a Local PC Building Company let me down (RL Supplies) so I emailed John about what happened and what I needed doing and when he saw the email called (with a clear English voice) and asked what needed doing. Which I then told him I needed the parts picking up, building/ windows installed and delivered back as I have no means of transport. which he understood and said was fine and asked me when am I (Myself) free so he could pick it all up as well as letting me know about the prices which was great. Then the day came he took all the PC Parts built it all that day (whilst calling and updating me) and then the next day after testing called me to say he bring my PC back built and then did all finished and done (So I paid him) and then he said any problems to let him know... :D

I'd rate John/ Technical Merritt - (10/10)

Only tiny bit of "Constructive Criticism" I could give is better cable management that's it other then that 10/10 genuine guy :D

I took my old computer to Merritt and they fixed it promptly and without any fuss, unlike other computer places I've used who seem to make a meal of everything. Recommended.
