Steph is outstanding and in a short time helped our daughter fill the gaps in her Maths learning. She turned the lights on in our daughters mind, and her understanding of maths is so much greater now. My daughter says ‘She is an amazing teacher and makes learning fun!’ She has fantastic methods of teaching maths through flash cards, laminates, games, etc. We highly recommend Steph!

My daughter has now been seeing Steph for just over a year and in that time her maths confidence has grown, including her belief in her own ability to do maths (which was almost zero before). She has regular assessments to track her progress and to benchmark where she was, where she is and where she should be. Steph also liaises with the school to check they are on the same page. My daughter is happier in maths, trusts Steph and enjoys working with her. As said in my earlier review when we had just started, we so wish we had found Steph before secondary school. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Totally amazing tutor.
I think it is fair to say that our young person was reluctant to engage in education, especially maths! I can however tell you how, through a series of strategies and very clever interventions, Steph has not only succeeded in promoting mathematical understanding but also massively improved our young persons confidence in general. I can whole heartedly recommend her as an excellent tutor.

Steph has worked with my daughter for some time now, and the progress she has made is fantastic. After conducting a thorough assessment, Steph identified the problem areas to work on and planned the sessions accordingly. Steph is patient and kind, and has great understanding and knowledge of people who ‘just don’t get maths’.
I’m so glad we found her and I can’t recommend her highly enough!

I can’t recommend Steph from Testing Times highly enough. My daughter Annie joined her last year, 1/2 way through year 10 and after years of struggling and being told she would never pass her GCSE. After just a few weeks Annie was already showing massive signs of improvement. The way Steph teaches is different but fun and has stuck in her head unlike any other teaching method. My daughter has gone from maths being her worst subject to now actually being her best and highest achieving subject at school. Steph is so personable and lovely to be around. Annie adores Steph and I know she will really miss her when she passes her GCSE this summer of which she definitely will and that’s all thanks to Testing Times.

I cannot thank Steph enough for the support she has given our daughter. Firstly assessing her needs with such accuracy and then finding fun and engaging ways to fill in the gaps. She has removed the fear from maths and we have seen a step change in our daughters confidence.

Without reservation I can say that Stephanie Madden's maths support work with our children has been outstanding. She is professional in her approach. She began with a detailed assessment of the children's existing knowledge and skills, and then used this to plan a tutoring programme appropriate for each of them. At the end of each session she evaluates their learning, advises them on what to practice at home, and plans the next session. We are already seeing real progress with the children's maths understanding and confidence. The school which one of the children attends has commented (to the parent) on the noticeable improvement in that child's maths ability.

Stephanie has a warm, welcoming and enthusiastic style and at the same time is firm and clear about what is required of the children. The children enjoy the sessions and look forward to them. She is easy to communicate with and initiates contact as appropriate. HIGHLY recommended.

It is a great privilege to support this group of yours Kathy. Where they are at different schools and have differing needs it can be trickier to keep students engaged and moving on quickly. Having English as a second-language means there are additional challenges. We are all growing in skills and confidence and I'm so pleased that in only 5 sessions their schools are noticing improvements. My son is the classic story of a boy who was showing strong signs of dyscalculia and had fallen way behind at school with seemingly no tools to support him to close the gap leaving him anxious. Finding Testing Times Maths has been truly the best tutoring experience. Stephanie's teaching style even for older children, is to absolutely be student led. She has proved that with repetition, kindness and consistency anything is possible. My son will be sitting SATS this year, something we could never have considered before. Truly amazing.

Our son had just started tutoring with Stephanie and then lockdown happened! So we decided to continue on Skype and we have been utterly amazed with our son's progress. He has huge gaps in his maths but we can already see how Stephanie's strategies, games and flash cards have helped our son see that he can do maths! Her incredible way with children is just so lovely to see - engaging, positive and fun! We are so lucky to have found Stephanie and we highly recommend her as a maths tutor.
