Absolutely terrible company. Accidentally bought the wrong size they could not stop the order (called within an hour) and refused to refund.

They take forever to ship your book but refuse to cancel your order.
Purchased book but noticed on the 6th business day they still did not ship book. I proceeded to reach out and cancel the book. It took them 2 business day to acknowledge my cancelation request to inform me the book was shipped. However, when I looked up tracking info there wasn’t any. They just created the shipping label and instead of processing my cancelation informed me I needed to submit a new request but this time select their return form. W.t.f! Will never do business with this place again. They won’t cancel because of course they want their 10% restocking fee. Guess who has to pay for return shipping? Me! But now I need to wait. Who knows how many more days I will need to wait to actually receive the book while it’s currently sitting in their possession.

Absolute scam
Absolute scam. First of all, there's multiple versions of the book and software available with no differentiation between the options. Second, the necessary access is cheaper when purchasing directly through Pearson. Third, while they tell you that you have access to the materials for 2 years, that's only applicable if you don't enroll in a course. Access actually ends when your course does, and you don't retain access to the eBook after that point. Have fun purchasing a "digital textbook" for $175 for 3 months. I've contacted support through TextbookX and the manufacturer and both are useless. I was directly lied to by both support agents regarding my access. Responses are canned answers and they don't directly address any questions. I'm reporting them to the BBB as well as the college I'm attending.

Infuriatingly Terrible Service
The textbookx people took more than 5 days to respond to any of the help requests I sent them. The last email I received came after 14 days of waiting. I even called hoping for a faster response and was put on a waiting list. When they called me back it was completely silent but I kept talking and they hung up on me. My issues have been passed who several different people who have all said the same things and stopped answering at a certain point. This is almost a month into the semester.

Ben Plunkett was very helpful and gave my students and me the answer we were hoping for - I feel he treated my students fairly.
Junior Moise was also very helpful when he responded to an email from the academic dean above me, but that was one week after I had sent him a message through the Akademos Help page. I understand I contacted him during a very busy time of the academic year, but some type of response to my initial attempt to contact him would have been reassuring and given my something to tell my students who were waiting for me for advice about what to do.
Excellent Service
Ben Plunkett was awesome he responded quickly and got my situation resolved as fast as he could. He was on top of everything and even gave me updates as he got them! Highly recommend!

I bought a book off this website for $130 and then 2-days later after purchase they cancelled my order due to not having the book in storage (which is weird why they wouldn't just wait till they got more) well I go back in to the website to buy it again (weird that I can purchase it again when they just said they didn't have it) and I see the price of $375. I realize they cancelled my order raised the price and now want to me pay way more. I'm upset because I need the book for class and can't wait around 2 weeks with a website if I cannot get my book. I bought it somewhere else. Terrible first (and probably last) impression.

Use a different company.
Rental returned but still charged.
I rented a book from them and received it in a timely matter. When it was time to return the book, I returned it on Nov. 14, 2020 and got a receipt from the shipper. A month later I started getting emails stating that the book was still due to be returned. Fortunately I kept the receipt. I kept receiving emails from the company stating I needed to return the book and I KNEW I had already returned it. Then I received a reminder by mail with someone else's name but my address stating I needed to have the book returned by Jan 31, 2021. So, I called customer service and gave them the tracking number and the guy located my return which they received, I think around Dec. 8, 2020. The customer service rep stated that he would annotate my account that it had been received. Two months later I check my credit card account and they have charged me stating that I had not returned my book. This is a pain in the butt having to go through this AFTER I have talked with someone who clearly saw that I had returned my book. I WILL NOT EVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!!. I emailed the company so I'll see what they say.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They do not listen to what you are saying and don't try to solve the problem properly, all they say is we'll email you once I look into it more. I have never been so mad with any service ever. I buy a book never received it after 3 months, then my class is almost half over. I call to cancel it multiple times so I can get my money back. They then send me the book when I said I don't need it anymore. Now I have to pay for shipping back to them and wait even longer for my $250 refund. I WILL NEVER BUY A BOOK FROM THEM AGAIN.

This season has been particularly erratic with bundled "deals", and I know you must have a headache every day having to deal with these tedious issues.

I've bought several of my textbooks at TextbookX, and I was satisfied with the quality of the book, the prices, and fast delivery. Additionally, I purchased some other school supplies at good prices.
Misleading advertising, laughable customer service
Negligent, misleading advertising, and no remedy. I purchased an eBook for En Avant, beginner French, which is a 3-semester book. The price listed is 106.66 for the eBook, but is does NOT say that it is only for ONE semester. Who takes one semester of French? It gives you the option in smaller print below to purchase lifetime access for $5 more, which I didn't take, because I assumed that the regular access I bought actually allowed me the time to use the full book, which it does not. I called them and they blew me off, telling me it was my fault for not surmising that I only purchased one semester's worth of license. Now I've got to make the whole purchase again. Congrats guys, this was my first semester, but I'll be going out of my way to avoid purchasing through you for the next 4 years. I hope it was worth it.

I am a student living abroad and their international shipping service and support is amazing. I like that the bookstore reminds us which textbooks we need to buy for our classes every semester.
