My Bank rang me and said there was a…

My Bank rang me and said there was a highly unusual subscription where the service provider changes their merchant name each charge. They gave me all the details they could and I found the textguard website. I had logged in to check it out so entered a trial but only because I thought it was turnitin so as soon as i realized it was falsely advertised I stopped it/ it wouldn’t let me close the account. It did let me unsubscribe.
I did not get any subscription or cancellation emails or anything, no bank confirmation, nothing.
When my bank rang me i initially didn’t remember this website because the merchant name was different each time and the subscription runs every 3 months so it was not memorable.
I went back in to cancel again- it let me do that and this time sent me an email.
I tried to close account- there is no option to do that. It still has saved my credit card detail in there. I could not unlink my card.
After that I logged in again to double check and it showed that I was subscribed so it seems that logging in resubscribes you.
I unsubscribe again.
I contacted support and they said that I’m unsubscribed now.i asked them to close my account and card- no reply to this.
My bank told me to cancel my card so this is the option that I took. My bank have this company flagged as a scam.

The checkout process clearly shows that you are buying a subscription with TextGuard, not any other service. We have never changed our merchant name, and your bank's claim that the name changes with each charge does not match our records or our billing practices.

Second, we reviewed your support history with us. You sent one message asking to cancel your subscription and close your account. In that message, you did not mention any issues with merchant names, bank calls, or being unable to close your account. You simply asked for cancellation and account closure.

You received an automatic reply from our system confirming that your subscription had been canceled. This was not a response from a live agent — it was an automated confirmation, which clearly stated that your subscription was successfully canceled. After receiving that confirmation, you did not reply or ask for any further assistance, such as account deletion or removal of payment details.

We also want to clarify that standard industry practice does not include sending a separate confirmation for account deletion unless a user specifically requests it and confirms the action. You did not request account deletion in your message, only cancellation of the subscription.

You also mentioned that you opened the confirmation email we sent. That means you saw the confirmation that your subscription was canceled. At that point, no further action was needed unless you wanted to close your account entirely.

We are a legitimate service, and we are ready to help you resolve any remaining concerns. If you still wish to close your account and remove your payment details, please reply to our support team at support@textguard.ai, and we will personally assist you.

Stay away

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this company. I tried to cancel my subscription and even contacted support because I could not find a clear cancellation process. I believed the issue had been resolved, but I was charged again anyway.

What made the situation worse is that while actively searching for information about cancellation, I ended up with another unexpected charge. At that point, I felt like I was spending more time trying to stop payments than actually using the service.

A company should make canceling as simple as subscribing. Customers should not have to repeatedly contact support, continue receiving charges, and then spend additional time trying to fix the issue.

Very disappointing experience, and I would strongly suggest people carefully review subscriptions and billing before signing up.

To be completely honest, I also found the actual service disappointing. I used the AI tool expecting it to significantly improve and humanize text, but in my experience I barely noticed any meaningful difference in the output. The results were not strong enough to justify paying again, and there is no chance I would have voluntarily renewed or paid extra for more words.

The frustrating billing and cancellation experience was already enough, but the product itself did not deliver the value I expected. For me, it felt overpriced considering that tools like ChatGPT and other AI platforms can produce comparable or better results.

This was my personal experience, but after everything that happened, I definitely would not subscribe again.

Once logged in, go to your profile, find the subscription section, and click the cancellation button. There's no need to contact support, and the option is always visible.

If you were unable to find it, we would genuinely like to understand why. We've made the cancellation process as simple as possible — it's hard to imagine it being any easier without removing the need for account access altogether.

Additionally, even if you contact our support team, we can cancel the subscription for you immediately. So there are always two ways to cancel: self-service or through support.

We also want to address your comment about being charged while trying to cancel. To make an additional purchase — such as topping up words — you must actively click a button like "Top Up" and confirm the transaction. This is a separate action that requires your explicit consent. It cannot happen by accident while you are navigating to the cancellation page. Even when an offer appears, clicking "Continue" does not mean cancel — it means proceeding with that purchase. These actions are clearly labeled, and we encourage all users to read each option carefully.

We also reviewed your previous conversation with us. When you first reached out, you claimed that you had already canceled your subscription. We asked for confirmation or details, but you did not provide any. Now you are saying that you never managed to cancel at all. This inconsistency makes it difficult for us to understand exactly what happened.

We would very much like to help and investigate further. Please contact us directly at support@textguard.ai with your account email so we can look into your billing history and cancellation attempts.

The experience was horrible.

I had wrote a simple text '' I am satvika, a talented young author who loves writing, dancing and reading." to test this platform. The Ai bot told me that the text was ''60%'' ai generated. This platform wasn't helpful at all.Also when i tried to humanize a text i had to first pay.
