Booked 25 hours and it started positively after the assessment. I bought a car and was driving supervised every night and it became apparent that I only needed half of that at most.

The business refunded me for the 12.5 hours, but having set up a plan with my instructor, I needed even less and she agreed.

All in all, on my test day she owed me hours and said that she would pay me back directly.
She also dropped on me that a family member was in hospital terminal and she was extremely upset.
I offered for her to just go be with them and my wife could just take me to the test center, but she said we would still carry on.

I passed! More to do with the supervised driving than anything else, but upon arriving home she said I'll pay you back in a day or 2.

Fast forward 2 weeks, she's not answering me texts or calls. I've contacted the pass people and sent 4 emails to which I've not received an answer to. I've sent emails to customer service and the Martin B chap (who appears now to be on long term sick leave)

Don't let them owe you money..

paid a £175 deposit for an intensive driving course. I was told this deposit covers “the cost of organising the course”. Additionally, on the website it clearly states “for the small cost of £175 deposit, we will arrange your course for you”.

In my case, no course was organised. No timetable, schedule, or block booking of lessons was arranged. The only action taken was providing contact details for a driving instructor.

When I contacted the instructor, I was asked to book a singular lesson and pay the remaining balance (£845) before any course could be arranged. This was not something I was willing to agree to. I was also not confident in the instructors response when I asked him directly if he could fit all of my lessons within the time I was available.

It became clear to me that the service I paid for (organising a course) was not happening and was not going to happen. I was struggling to organise it myself. I certainly was not going to pay another 845 pounds when there was no clear course of action in place at all.

So, due to that change in circumstance, I decided to cancel as soon as possible and politely request a full refund of my deposit.

In my opinion, no work had been done to organise a course at that point, so I fully believed that my deposit would be refunded.
However, my refund was denied. They seem to believe that by sending me a phone number, they had spent £175 worth of time “organising” my course.

I do not believe that one phone number is worth £175.

Please also note that I made my cancellation way before any course started due to the lack of service and clarification. If I had cancelled part way through the course, or if they had organised any lessons before I cancelled, then I would fully understand the need for them to retain my deposit - but that’s not what happened.

To anyone considering buying a course, I would recommend clarifying exactly how the course will be “organised” before you make your decision. One quick google search can give you a long list of driving instructor’s phone numbers - and you can save the cost of £175 by choosing one of them.

Pass people, great company they got me a test in the location I wanted, which I had been trying for months with no luck, also they found me a wonderful driving instructor, that got my son through his test first time, would highly recommended this company to anyone.

We decided we needed an intensive driving course when our daughter failed her first test and we had to find a way to get a test date – practically impossible where we live (London suburbs) – and during a very limited time-frame. We needed a test at the end of a university vacation, and an instructor who could give enough lessons during the holiday. We also needed this before the theory test ran out.

The Pass People were excellent. They were easy to use. They were easy to contact and speak to when we needed to clarify things. Their payment process was simple and transparent. Against all the odds they got us a viable test date. The instructor they found was calm, patient and thorough and our daughter was able to have the number of lessons she needed over the Easter break before the test.

The result? With only a month left on the theory test, our daughter passed her test yesterday!

We’re sure none of this would have been possible if we hadn’t used the Pass People. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

I can’t thank Pass People enough for their incredible support and efficiency. With less than 24 hours’ notice, they managed to find me a driving instructor, arrange my lessons, and put everything in place for my test—all within an incredibly tight 4-week timeframe.

I’m very happy with my experience with the Pass People. Initially they were helpful on the phone and gave guidance on the kinds of cars / instructors and timings I could expect. After I’d passed my theory test they found me a practical driving test sooner than I’d expected, which was great. I was found an instructor quite quickly after that, and communication was straight forward. I was extremely happy with my instructor who was kind and calm and had a reasonably small car which is what I’d specified I would need. Overall I would recommend the pass people for those looking to get through the learning to drive process quickly and efficiently!

Great customer service, quick replies and amazing test times

Excellent company. Both my boys passed with Michael in Bolton. Passed their tests within a couple of months and fast test dates. Highly recommended

The pass people were just a good all round service. Easy on the phone and more than proactive sorting my test. They managed to get me a test within 2 weeks that was only a month away. This is unheard of in the current test wait climate. My instructor was highly experienced and ran her own company with 18 years of experience which I was more than happy with. I also really appreciated the encouraging emails throughout and the multiple well wishes for my test. A much smoother experience than other companies I tried previously. Further than this they were also a good chunk cheaper than other places I looked at which is baffling given how good they were. I would implore you to use the pass people if you can.

I highly recommend getting your test booked from here. As they are very quick and reliable. I was able to get a test before my theory expires, so yeah I say this is the best place to get.

A very positive and efficient experience. I booked at end of November with no driving experience at all. No pushy sales tactics, just good honest, practical advice given. By Jan I'd passed my theory test and by early February I passed my practical 1st time! The team were supportive, professional and always very helpful, with good luck emails before each stage of the process. Absolutely recommend 100%
