The plans are solid and a race build is easy to follow, and syncing to my watch worked without fuss. What lost me was flexibility: when I missed sessions or had a rough week it kept pushing the original schedule instead of properly reshaping it, and the pace targets felt rigid for how I actually train. Good if you want a fixed plan to follow, less so if your week moves around a lot.
Your team appeared to be helpful but did not seem to understand that my user experience is different than what you were telling me your back end software said.
I purchased a gift subscription.
Recipient got an error code saying it was already used and the subscription did not populate.
The code did not work.
So we purchased via Google play store and it worked.
When I reached out for support to get a refund they kept telling me the code was used even though I explained experience.
This was same day of purchases.
Email support has dragged on for over a week.
Last interaction I asked for a valid subscription code instead of a refund to make it right and being told to ask Google for a refund.
They also only offer support via chat or email.
I think there needs to be at least phone support so there is not so much back and forth.
I really wish they cared about making this right instead of being right.
I am afraid it has ruined the experience of a gift.
I’ve used Runna for race training and it’s totally worth it UNLESS you need to do something very simple eg change your race date. Then the whole thing falls apart. The AI chat gave me information that didn’t work and the human agents simply don’t bother to stay on top of conversations. I’m now using Google Gemini for support for a half marathon that’s a few weeks away. Very disappointing and tbh makes me feel the subscription isn’t worth it. For 15.99 a month you need the app and the support to be solidly built and professional. It isn’t.

This is about the Runna apparel store itself. I ordered a running kit on September 18 and I am based within Europe but till today, I have not received any package. I was also sent a UPS tracker link which stopped updating after 3 days. I have contacted the Runna customer service thrice now via email and there is no solution provided for, PURE SILENCE. This is actually such a scam and mind you, I paid 102 bucks for this running kitplus shipping fee only to receive a big fat nothing. This type of customer service speaks volume of the company and the incompetent people who are behind it. They spend WAY more time creating useless social media content rather than responding and attending to customers' requests and concerns. For this exact reason, I would highly recommend every runner, athlete, and person out there to NOT purchase ANYTHING from Runna. They pretty much is a huge scam and just a waste of time. Now, I have to sit here and feel great remorse for not getting any refund or explanation either. So much for being a good running app or company. I will make it my life mission to evangelise against the use of this app as long as I live.

Runna helps me to get back into racing after an injury. The app is comprehensive, adaptable and open to feedback.

I cancelled my subscription after only 2 weeks - there’s a plan that says « return to running after an injury » but they don’t actually ask what the injury was etc so the plan is basically something that you would use either for a beginner or for someone who hasn’t ran in a long time. It absolutely doesn’t adapt to any of your symptoms, or any of your difficulties . So if it’s just to say « walk/run and gradually increase the running », I don’t think I need an app for that. My injury involves vestibular issue so throwing me into a full 2km running in week 2 is definitely not appropriate and even dangerous, if real coaches were behind the screen, they would definitely make better plans. All I’m saying is that this is not personalised at all, it’s pretty much the same plan for everyone depending on which goal you pick. Now I understand it can’t be 100% personalised for everyone, but at least the return from injury should be based on the user difficulties.
I supposed it could be good for a race training though, whether is couch to 5K or marathon ! That’s why I still gave it a 3 stars, as I might return in a year or so but for now I’m looking for an actual personalised approach to be able to run again (which I thought I’d have with this app, given their communication around it)

This review is about customer service particularly when it comes to clothing.
I was sent the wrong item I ordered - a runna long sleeve top and got a strava T-shirt
Trying to get this sorted has been a nightmare, communication is awful - you have to get by their AI dash 😖 most companies especially when it's their fault have an efficient process for handling returns - As for Runna it's awful I will never order anything again - just be aware.
I have seen other posts about this problem so it's not an isolated incident.

Runna offers structured workouts that are easy to follow and link with Apple Watch to track live pace. Great plans to help you smash PBs.

Great application to create and track your individual training plan - even for me as a beginner. Providing personal detail like age, gender etc I got a well customized plan which suits my fitness level: challengimg but doable. Some of the other running apps I have tried use a more generic approach which did not work for me as a beginner.
Like the watch app too, so I do not need to carry my phone while out for a run.

How can you email me an invoice, but when I try to cancel my subscription using that email address, I'm told it does not exist? How does that make sense? And why make it so hard to cancel a subscription?

Everything , I subscribed 7 day free trial and I could not access the Runna app after 10 emails back and forth, they proceeded to put through the Credit card payment after warning them not to .... terrible service

Best running coaching app by far. Running programs are well customized and adjust well to improving fitness over time. I am
Missing the ability to create custom runs (Intervall, etc). At this price this should be possible.

I used Runna’s training plan during the Spring Toronto Half Marathon 2026 and shared my feedback on a pace accuracy issue I faced. The customer service was highly responsive and collaborative, and open to improving the user race-day experience.

I’ll keep this brief.
I like that on SOME runs it advised to speed up or slow down appropriately. I’m rubbish at keeping the correct pace. I like that everything syncs to my calendar without issue. I like that you can move your runs if you need to and it even warns you if two heavy workouts are close together.
My major complaint with the app is the difficulty in which it syncs with my Apple Watch. I have to open up the app on my phone and the app on my watch and start while they are both open. If I don’t, it will not sync heart rate. I don’t run with my phone in my hand and it just feels like a massive faff. I also have an intermittent fault where I don’t get any audio queues on some runs. Considering this app is 5 years old and Apple Watches are one of the most common devices, it seems clear they aren’t willing to address the issue. Yes, I’ve been through full text support and tried all options but this is still an intermittent fault. Tech support didn’t reply for days and I’d already cancelled my membership.
Teach support/customer service aren’t great.
The strength workouts are pretty lame and the recording of reps/sets isn’t intuitive. You can find better supplementary strength workouts through that GPT.
This feels like a basic AI function that have been polished a little bit. It’s riddled with issues and it’s unlikely they will fix them. It’s not worth the price in my humble opinion
The app is aesthetically nice and user friendly. I am training for a HM and the customization options are too limited and doesn’t allow you to control enough your plan. Not is it adjusting to pacing which I why I decided to go with this. I am really disappointed. It gives me too high volume runs mid week and insufficient interval and tempo work mid week, so I feel like I am progressing to too much weekly volume suddenly while not getting early enough to longer runs for my long run. I cannot do high volume runs mid week - 6 max for one run and 4-5 for the other due both to time and my body burns out. Have done 8 or 9 half’s now so I know when it becomes too much too quickly.
The app is good but they have charged me twice for the subscription and I have been waiting over a day to get any confirmation I will get the second payment of £99 back. It’s a lot of money to take out of someone’s account and to then ignore them. Really terrible customer support as their AI chatbot does nothing.

I have reached out more than five times and customer service has either not tried to resolve the issue or not very helpful in trying to find the code that was never sent when I purchased a 12mo subscription.

I could not redeem the Runna Subscription Gift Card purchased through store.runna.com
I will be waiting for 2 says on support

Using a code is a challenge all its own and then working with their customer service is like talking to someone who sleeps 23 hours a day. I’ve been trying to get a refund for this app because canceling my account after a free trial was challenging. They gave me the runaround and also only seem to answer once a day at odd hours. Besides the mess with their customer service, the plan made for me to get back into running after injury was laughable. I understand being conservative after injury but the plan given would have been suitable for someone who has never run and is looking for a couch-to-5k. The app is not intuitive so if there was a way to adjust this, I didn’t have the patience to figure it out.
Update: the app subscription cannot be cancelled in-app. Customer service reply time within their chat (not email) is 5 hours or more. They expect a reply on weekends despite being a service that only allows subscriptions to be canceled via the website.
I’ve never opened a charge dispute with my bank before dealing with Runna but I guess there’s a first time for everything.
