Sleep School entered liquidation …

Initially I found the Sleep School app really very helpful ... and then yesterday. I tried to access the app (to which I subscribed and paid for in Sep 2025) over this last week several times without success. I sent them an email twice, to which I received the following response last night: "The Sleep School Limited entered liquidation on 26 January 2026". So disappointing.

The Sleep School has been absolutely…

The Sleep School has been absolutely wonderful. But by bit I had found myself with a reliance on zopiclone, which was not a lot of fun, but when I decided to come off I found myself with some fairly serious insomnia. First I tried CBT for insomnia which was a nightmare - it just compounded the stress around sleep, and the feeling that I couldn’t trust my body and that there was something wrong with me. Then I came across ACT, and Dr Guy Meadows. I did the course, had a few sessions with Dr Guy, and gradually regained confidence in my ability to sleep, and crucially my ability to do and enjoy the things I wanted and needed to do even when my sleep was pretty bad. It took a while, but ultimately the approach Guy teaches returned me to a place where sleep is once again a normal, stress free process. And when anxiety about it does reappear, I have the ability and tools to not let it dictate my behaviour or dominate my days and nights. It might be the most important set of skills I have ever learnt.

Absolutely amazing

I am 81 yrs and had been having sleeping issues for 3yrs due to waiting a long time for hip surgery also with a knee pain on the same side.
I found SleepSchool and decided to give their approach a try.
I did the insomnia course twice with very helpful results, my sleep improved from 3hrs a night to 5-6 hrs.
Now still following the advice I am sleeping 6-7hrs with hardly any pain.
I have had one surgery and am waiting for another on my knee.
I have found the teaching of the ACT therapy absolutely amazing, the gentle approach from Dr Guy together with so much information about sleep has been a life changer for me.
The emotion defuse helps me in everyday life as well, I have always been someone who dwells on difficult thoughts…..I am now much lighter in mood and feelings, and able to continue with my life and values despite my limitations in mobility.
I can’t thank Dr Guy and everyone at Sleep school enough for this amazingly helpful course.
At 81 you can still learn something new everyday!!,

A strong recommendation for Dr Guy Meadows

As a long term insomniac I have been on sleeping pills for 48 years. Suddenly last summer they stopped working and I was drinking to excess in conjunction with the pills.
I contacted Dr Guy and we worked via 3 one hour consultations then emails. With cooperation from my GP I increased the dose of pills short term with a view to a gradual reduction. It turned out the slimming jab Mounjaro was interfering with the effectiveness of the pills, the same as it does with contraceptive pills.
I worked with Dr Guy to reduce the pills but decided that after all those years and at my age (76) trying to come off the pills completely would be a nightmare.
My point here is that Dr Guy was completely sympathetic to my decision and did not try to persuade me to continue with him.
I learned a lot about myself and would not hesitate to recommend Dr Guy.

Massive Improvement in Sleep and anxiety

I had struggled for months with insomnia, to the point I was desperately trying to control sleep as much as possible.

I tried several books (but they were more about sleep hygiene) rather than dealing with the anxiety. Dr Guy Meadows book and the app tackled that head on. Teaching me how to accept my fears via several techniques, which in turn led me to sleep normally again. The app is a 5 week course (very good) and the book is great as well and I've learnt so much about how sleep works, our amygdala's, fight and flight and facing my demons rather than running away.

As a result, not only has my sleep improved dramatically, but I also have learnt to accept my fears which in turn have reduced to the point they have dissipated entirely. It's also very good in also helping you dealing with any anxieties in the daytime e.g. work, relationship etc

I have recommended the book and app to anyone who would listen. It's been life changing and my sleep is better at times than before I even had insomnia!

Have had long term and varied issues with sleep. Dr Guy got was able to quickly identify the issue and offer an effective plan to fix. This despite many years of other experts failing to identify the problem. My relationship with sleep had deteriorated to the point that I’d lost confidence in being able to fall asleep. I would really recommend as the approach here may be v different to previous advice.

Very helpful app and book!

I would highly recommend the Sleep School app. It has been well worth the subscription fee. The app has a structured course which has helped me feel less anxious about sleep. I did the Sleep School app while also having CBT therapy on the NHS at a sleep clinic. There were a few small areas where the Sleep School approach (based on ACT, acceptance and commitment therapy) was different from the CBT approach, but I just tried out elements of both approaches and found out which worked best for me, so it wasn't a problem. There is also a Facebook community and live webinars where you can learn more and ask questions. I also have The Sleep Book by Guy Meadows which is a print version of the course, if you want to read it first and see if you're interested before subscribing to the app. I highly recommend the Sleep School.

Best thing I’ve tried for Insomnia

As a long term insomniac I have read many books and tried many things, but the Sleep school approach has been the most helpful. It’s based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). It’s not a quick fix, but it makes sense to me.
The app in combination with the other online resources is very user friendly, and I would also recommend buying the book. The Sleep school online community is very supportive.

Sleep School ACTually works to tackle insomnia

I've suffered from insomnia my entire adult life and tried many different solutions
Sleep School is utterly different from all of them, it actually works.
It not only works to help tackle insomnia it help tackle the daytime issues that can be the cause of insomnia.
I think anyone who has ever had trouble sleeping should give it a go.
The method its based on "ACT" is also something I wish I had known of years ago.

Best insomnia solution on the market

I have tried so many methods over the years such as CBT-i and nothing really worked until I found Dr Guy and his app. The sleep school approach has not only helped me with my insomnia but also to manage stress in other parts of my life.

Strongly recommended for insomnia issues

This is the most useful and effective help for sleep problems I have encountered. It takes time, and dedication and repetition to get better, it is in no way a quick fix, but the approach really works and I can honestly say that it has saved my life.

Just brilliant

I can't rate Sleep School highly enough. It has not only cured my insomnia but over time improved my non-sleep related anxieties and fears immeasurably. I did not get on with the CBT method at all, just made me more tired and wired. This is a much more gentle and sensible approach based on ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). There is also a Sleep School online Community for support and advice by fellow sufferers and those like me, who offer advice on a 'giving back' basis. Dr Guy also runs free regular videos and Questions and Answers sessions in addition to the App (subscription based) and his excellent Sleep School book. He really comes across as genuinely caring. Incidentally I am now a normal sleeper of a fair few years now with no fears around sleep.

Sleep School app changed my life

I would recommend the app sleep school to anyone with insomnia. It works. I have had on and off insomnia for years and tried basically everything. Sleep School is the only thing that has helped me. Dr Guy is commited to his clients and wants to help them. He is so knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about. Its the best app out there and worth every penny.

Fantastic, supportive programme

This is a fantastic app. It has helped me to slowly improve my sleep. The ACT approach is one that instantly chimed with me and made so much more sense than a lot of other advice. The best thing about this programme is that it teaches you not to worry when you have a bad night and it really takes the sting out of insomnia. Users of the app have access to a Facebook group which is incredibly supportive. You really don’t feel on your own with sleep issues. There are regular free webinars with Dr Guy and these are also incredibly helpful. He is so reassuring and knowledgeable.

Sleeping soundly every night :)

After years of chronic insomnia, a combination of a few one-to-ones with both Dr Kat and Dr Guy, reading the book, using the app and being a part of the Sleep School community on Facebook helped me build confidence in my ability to sleep, know my blind spots keeping me from sleeping and effectively restoring my sleep :) Cannot recommend enough!

So much rubbish out there to solve a sleep problem. Sleep school takes you on a journey to getting back to sleeping normally. I was told CBTI was the gold standard treatment for sleep disorders. I discovered it left me in a worse place. I was saved by sleep school- it makes sense and has helped me significantly to improve sleep without drugs or rules/routines.

Ms. Chaney

Dr. Guy definitely is in a league of his own! He has mastered the way in which we should respond to our sleep anxiety. Before discovering Dr.Guy, his book and the app, I was completely lost. I worked with another very popular sleep coach on Youtube and while they were great with the education of what was happening, I still was not able to get over the hump of my fear. I had no idea why. Once I discovered Dr. Guy and his education and tools for sleep anxiety, I quickly understood why the other sleep coach and their methods never worked for me. Dr. Guy creates PRACTICAL solutions that we follow during the day which translates to how we respond during our nights. Since using the app and reading his book, my whole approach to moving through my insomnia has changed for the better. I no longer fear sleepless nights and am becoming more okay with whatever my body decides to do. This has created the paradoxical effect of getting more sleep than I ever have since the start of my insomnia.

The program doesn't teach you HOW to sleep, but how to be okay with being awake at night. This is different because he helps us to learn how to allow the thoughts, sensations and feelings that come up with the anxiety around not sleeping. This is why it is important to know this before going in that you are not learning to sleep. You are learning to respond better to what comes up night to night whether it be negative thoughts, uncomfortable feelings, going for urges stemming form anxiety (tossing and turning, constantly going to the bathroom, grabbing for pills and potions to sleep, etc). His program teaches you that all of these are okay to accept, let in and let pass. It takes TIME and most people want a quick fix. You are quite literally rewiring your brain and that may take months or longer depending on how deep your unhelpful behaviors and habits are. There's some self-awareness that will have to accompany the work that you put in so that you catch yourself when entangled in thoughts and then respond with helpful behaviors. Dr. Guy does a great job with teaching how to catch yourself when you are caught up in them and how to productively respond.

ACT is the best method for insomnia recovery because it allows you to remove yourself from your unhelpful behaviors and thoughts and see them from the outside looking in. Once you are able to do that, you can respond in a way that is helpful and moves you forward. It takes work, patience and self compassion and these are all things I did not know how to use productively until Dr. Guy's teachings. Please, if you do nothing else, go forward with the app and buy his book. Just know that you will have to learn how to become comfortable with being uncomfortable but with Dr. Guy's guidance, you will move forward and see positive changes.

ACT is not for everyone and can make sleep worse

My own personal experience is that Sleep School has actually developed my difficulty in sleeping into something of a phobia about sleeping. I appreciate lots of people succeed with it but the course has done more to magnify my problems so far and I have now got sleeping pills and the GP has prescribed me a milt anti-depressant. I have never had any issues like this before embarking on this course. Is it a coincidence? I don't know but I do not think so.I am on day 19 of the first course and day 3 of the Anxiety programme. I have also booked a consultation which cannot be delivered for several weeks. I have also emailed to ask for help. None forthcoming. I stress that I still have not completed the whole course and there may be a miraculous change. But ACT is not for everybody and I may have to relearn my old sleeping habits. I think sleep restriction may well be my chosen course as it does not involve mind games.
