This website has an appallingly…

This website has an appallingly misleading online quotation facility.

Whilst trying to use it, my initial quote displayed 'X' amount, then whilst checking my input 'X rapidly changed up by a factor of three, as I thought then I had made a mistake I then re-entered the same details only to find the quote had now gone up by five times the original figure!

This is NOT the way to encourage new customers, and is particularly disappointing as this was recommended by my local trustworthy Rolex dealer.

We are sorry you had issues trying to obtain a quotation from us. We have not had any other similar reports of issues from anyone obtaining or going forward with quotes, so we would really appreciate being able to talk to you to establish if there is an error on the website that may need attention from our IT team.

Our quick quote facility requires inputting of both the postcode AND the value of the jewellery and or watches in order to calculate a premium, as premiums will alter according to both of these factors. As we state on the quick quote page, the premium may change according to additional information provided, and that is because when you move past quick quote to the full quotation pages, all the underwriting factors are then asked, such as age and other information about the person wearing the item and these all make a difference to the premium.

As we can’t find a record for you, we assume you only used our quick quote facility (which helps to provide an approximate indication of premium), but we’d very much appreciate being able to discuss your online journey with you to find out where we went wrong, and we’d also be able to assist you with your insurance requirements, should you still need this. Dismissive Customer Service

I have sent required photographs of my watch (which is 6 months old) to still be told they could not be viewed. Also a valuation may be required. This is disappointing due to me explaining I’m pregnant and due any day, and customer service are very dismissive and unclear. Makes me question how I would be treated in a claim.

Very poor service. My Wife and I used T H March business…

My Wife and I used T H March business insurance for 25 years, for our business, with satisfactory results. However on retiring from business and trying to insure a personal watch collection they proved to be, well let's not beat about the bush, pretty useless. Responses from the company were poor and almost always instigated by me. They wanted me to jump through hoops, do all the work, yet pay them, and send reams and reams of information, photographs, valuations etc for the watches. They were difficult to contact and not one individual took charge of my request for insurance cover. There was no one to one personal contact. This is how they treat a customer of 25 years standing? I went on line, searched single item insurance, found another company who were brilliant, did the whole cover without fuss, no hoops to jump through, no photographs or valuations, and guess what £60 yes £60 lower premium. I lost count of the times I rang T H March over the same request for insurance. The staff at T H March kept telling me they were inundated with customers. Well if they keep up this level of service they won't be for long. Quiet frankly it's insulting to be treated like this as a previous customer. Someone at T H march needs to get a grip on the company. My advice to anyone thinking of using T H March is don't bother, use the internet instead.

We are sorry that the processes we follow have caused you unhappiness. This is quite the opposite of what we aim for.

As specialist insurance brokers, we arrange insurance for our customers using certain insurers (the “underwriters” about whom we refer in our communications). Brokers have little, if any, control over insurer’s requirements and terms and conditions they impose. It is also our role as insurance brokers to help customers when it comes to advising and guiding on insuring their items. This extends to communicating and explaining insurer’s requirements and conditions for setting up a policy with them. It is our experience - and you only need to read through the majority of reviews about us on Trustpilot - that the information insurers ask for and that we guide customers to provide makes a huge difference as to how easy the TH March claims process is. We take great pride in our claims service, as we know we help our customers swiftly, and when they really need us. Having to find all the relevant documentation at the time of a claim is usually very burdensome, and at the worst time for the customer too. This is why we continue to follow this same process of collecting all the relevant documentation when setting up the insurance rather than at the point of claim. If we are honest, we cannot say we enjoy dealing with all this paperwork either but we really do believe that it is in the best interests of the customer and that if we did not ask for certain documentation, we would not be doing our job properly.

It is our responsibility to explain to you this rationale above for requiring documentation at this stage, and we are sorry that we appear to have fallen short in this respect. We appreciate it is unusual for insurance companies to ask for this paperwork at this stage and perhaps we did not get this message across to you well enough in our calls and emails.

We are sorry that we caused you to feel insulted by the service. Although “inundated” with emails and calls, we really did try hard to communicate with you, talking to you every day last week and responding to your communications same day. It truly is only our intention to provide you with the best service as an insurance broker, guiding and advising you on managing your risk and insuring your valuable items.

We are pleased that you have arranged insurance for your items, and should you ever need any insurance guidance or advice in future we would be happy to assist you.

I took out insurance with TH March this…

I took out insurance with TH March this year At the end of June. It’s now the 1st of September and I’ve only just had my policy finalised. I purchased watch insurance and as advised , I went to get an independent valuation for my watch. The valuation came back and the underwriters refused to accept my valuation from a reputable jeweller. Despite submitting everything possible to TH MARCH , they still refused to accept it. I’ve now had 2 months of waiting for a “decision from the underwriters”
But finally they replied to me on the 1st September with a valuation which was over a £1000 less than given by my jeweller.

It’s fair to say I will most likely be cancelling my policy as I’ve been running around in circles trying to get this sorted , not only this but I will most definitely not be using them again.

We understand that our communications back and forth and between you and the jeweller over the last 30 working days must be quite frustrating when all you wish to do is arrange protection for your watch. We hope that we can gain your trust once more so that you appreciate that this is our objective in this too, to protect our customers’ precious items. The policies we arrange for personal jewellery and watches are to replace items on a like for like basis. It appears from our records that we have assumed matters are straightforward in that as a second hand item would be replaced with a second hand item, underwriters will need a valuation on that basis and also that proof of purchase/ownership would be needed so that if you ever needed to make a claim this would be hassle-free. We are sorry we have got these assumptions wrong and we have not met your expectations in this matter. We try and explain underwriters' requirements in various formats, including over the phone and in writing. Our recent communications indicated you understood the underwriter's requirements and were happy with this, so we are very sorry that you feel otherwise and that there is such a misunderstanding over what documentation is needed to insure your watch. As insurance brokers, we do not and cannot provide valuations, however we think what you are referring to receiving on 1st September was the confirmation from us in direct relation to the receipt you had provided 14 working days prior to confirm the lower value you showed on your receipt. In this correspondence we reiterate again what underwriters need in order to protect your item properly so that in the event of a claim, matters can be straightforward. However, we are evidently not delivering the message from underwriters clearly enough. Therefore, one of the team will call today to try and help explain. We are sorry we have made you feel this way, and to have caused any frustrations in our attempts to help you. We hope we can help resolve all of this for you, so that you can have your peace of mind that your watch is fully insured.

No one returns our calls

My fiancé bought me a lovely diamond engagement ring and uploaded the link sent by TH March and now they’re saying he’s not sent them the right documentation. He has tried to phone them numerous times and left numerous voicemails to rectify this and no one returns his call. He paid the premium and then TH March returned £150 out of the £180 paid. We simply cannot get hold of TH March to resolve this.

Huge drop in quality of customer service

I have been using TH March for over 8 years but recently I've not had a great experience with them. It's a shame because they were great before they grew so big and their quality of customer service was lost which is why I used them in the first place and not based on cost. I have ended up taking my business elsewhere.

Confident and Stress Free

I had been reviewing various insurance brokers looking for insurance on a new purchase and narrowed down my options to TH March. There website was easy to follow and the cost of annual cover was suffice for my requirements and was definitely the cheapest.
