Thrive Market is a business that I'm both happy to order from, and very proud to support. They stock excellent products that their own experts have vetted, and support all products that they sell, from beginning to end. Thrive Market shows useful details about all products that they sell, in clear language on easy-to-navigate pages on their website. I have personally experienced how quickly they follow up if there is a problem with a delivery. They provided an immediate response, that was both patient and focused on fully restoring the items that were unusable due to damage in transit.
But best of all, Thrive Market is a non-profit whose mission is to make healthy and sustainable products affordable and available to everyone. Every annual membership to Thrive Market sponsors a free membership for a family in need. Customers are invited to donate towards their mission as well, sharing some of their own savings with others who need some help. Here's what this looks like in detail (quoted from their website):
"If you’re an individual or family in financial need—including teachers, nurses, first responders, students, veterans, and SNAP EBT cardholders—you qualify for a free one-year membership through Thrive Gives. With it, you’ll get access to member-only benefits from Thrive Market."
And for those who are already members, who want to contribute, Thrive makes it easy:
"Any Thrive Market member can gift their savings or any dollar amount at checkout, supporting initiatives like:
* Grocery discounts & stipends for Thrive Gives members to use on our site
* Nonprofit partners that help us reach people in need
* Food & product donations following natural disasters"

The folks at Thrive are always professional, friendly, efficient, and forward thinking. Communication about products and shipping is always prompt and proactive. If every company in the world treated their customers like Thrive, we would all be happier and healthier.

I was put on hold for a very short time. They were very patient when I explained the situation and were very helpful in solving my problem.

It should be criminal how difficult Thrive Market makes it to cancel subscriptions (i'm sure it is in California, that's why they have a different set of directions for customers there). It's not in my accounts dashboard, then they loop me over to the FAQ, then it tells me to talk to a virtual assistant, then the link to open a chat with the assistant never opens. I had to go via paypal just to get their contact information and then they don't answer the phone nor is there a way to leave a voicemail.
I can't believe I bought $14 mouthwash from Thrive Market two years ago and it ended up costing me an additional $195 in unknown auto-renewing membership dues.
Thrive Market's B corporation label is the only proof of morals they have.

Was called back right away. Customer representative was patient and understanding.

The representative made my experience great! While the reason for my call was to cancel a membership fee that was not authorized by me at all- the representative was very helpful and nice and offered a credit for reconsideration and was not pushy about it. Due to financial difficulties, I was not able to keep the membership that was wrongly charged. I merely purchased a gift card for a friend and a week later I was enrolled and charged for a membership never having set up any kind of account or authorization of such additional payment. Overall the representative working for Thrive made my negative experience into a positive one. I will add my friends do like the service.

Customer support was very good. Rarely have any need to contact them in the first place. Was able to speak with a real person and have my issues resolved quickly.

Thrive representatives respond with great support and willingness to compromise to resolve issues.

After shopping at Thrive via the mobile app, i left items in my shopping cart to wait until my next paycheck. Less than 24 hours later, my shopping cart was ordered automatically and without approval. Once I realized this had happened, it had only been a few hours so I reached out to their customer service team and they offered no help. They would not cancel or refund my order and they do not accept returns. So now, not only am I out the money they took from me, I have items I did not want or need now that will go to waste. This company uses predatory practices to force you to keep giving them your money. Items are already automatically added to "recurring orders" so you have to pay extra attention when adding anything to your shopping bag, but now you can't even "shop" without worrying that Thrive market will decide to place an order for you that you are forced to accept and pay for. Shameful.
**edits after business reply:
I do not have any recurring orders, this situation included. The order described above was a regular shopping cart within the Thrive app. I reached out to customer support via email and chat at the time of my order and they were unwilling to help. They do not offer order cancellations, refunds, or returns.
It seems that regardless of Thrive Market's 2024 settlement over shady automatic subscription renewals, they are keen to continue the same predatory business behavior.

Scam company with terrible AI customer service. They charge the monthly membership, but what they are sneaky about is you have to opt out of autoship which is a process. They then will just ship you random things. My order included 2 jars of salsa and 5 jars of different marinaras. They processed my order at midnight and then said you only have a short timeline to cancel or its already been sent to fulfillment. Well the AI robot told me this. $250 of random shit they put in my cart later and I have finally figured out how to cancel my membership & you still have to turn off your auto ship after that. But the AI robot assured me if I am dissatisfied with my years worth of red sauce I can donate it to a local shelter, or let them know about product quality within 21 days and they will "try their best to make it right". Not even a guarantee to swap it out, way to stand by your products. Waste of money.

Thrive Market offers a wide variety of healthy brands of food, personal items, and cleaning items. My experience with their customer service department has been very pleasant, helpful and professional. I wholeheartedly recommend this company!

I opened a membership with Thrive Market and had some items sitting in my cart. Suddenly, I received an email saying that my order had already been shipped—even though I never authorized the purchase.
Following the advice of an AI assistant, I cancelled the transaction through my bank. Thrive Market also doesn’t seem to provide any clear contact information on their website, which made the situation even more frustrating.
I was told that I should receive the package and then send it back. However, I later received a delivery notification saying that the package couldn’t be delivered because it only had the city and state listed—no full address. How is it even possible for the order to be shipped in the first place without a complete address?
This whole experience feels very suspicious. I would strongly recommend being cautious before getting involved.

My account with Thrive Market was deactivated in Sep or Oct of 2024 but from Nov 2014 to Feb 2025 I was charged for deliveries that I never received. I was not aware of this because I was not monitoring my credit card account at that time, I just paid it off each month and left it at that. But then I received a package in March of 2025. I made a mental note to look into it but then forgot. When I received another box in April I immediately logged into my account but could not find any recent orders listed. So I checked my credit card transactions and that's when I discovered numerous charges that had not been authorized. On April 20, 2025 I spoke via chat with a rep from Thrive and was told the matter would be escalated. But all I got was an email asking for order numbers and telling me to take the matter up with PayPal. The charges did not go through PayPal! They were charged to my credit card by Thrive Market, the same card that is associated with my account, and PayPal had nothing to do with it. I provided the rep with every charge, the dates and amounts, and I demanded a refund. I screen-shotted the entire chat. I never received any reply and certainly not a refund. Then last week I learned that they charged me $59.95 for the yearly membership fee even though I DELETED my account when it became clear they were never going to give me a refund. How do they still have my credit card info AFTER I DELETED my account? This screams FRAUD andTHEFT and I will not stand for it any longer. I am now having to provide Chase Bank with the emails and chats I exchanged with Thrive to prove their fraudulent charge on my account and I will also have to report my card stolen because that is essentially what Thrive has done!

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They are a ripoff company. Don’t sign up.
