Do not buy tickets from Ticketswap

had a very disappointing experience with TicketSwap and their customer support.

I purchased a ticket through their platform that was clearly advertised as a VIP ticket, for which I paid a significant premium. However, when attending the event, none of the advertised VIP benefits existed. I was denied access to any VIP areas, and event staff confirmed there was no VIP access available at all.

I raised this with TicketSwap and provided clear evidence, including the ticket itself and video footage from the event. Despite this, they dismissed the issue and refused to offer any form of refund, even a partial one.

Their responses were not helpful and felt very dismissive. Instead of properly investigating the situation, they attempted to shift responsibility elsewhere and closed the matter without resolving it. They also stated they would “counter” any dispute, rather than working towards a fair outcome.

As a customer, I paid for a specific product based on how it was presented on their platform, and that product was not delivered. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to engage constructively has been very frustrating.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious when purchasing tickets through this platform, especially for premium or VIP listings. I would use RA or an official ticket reseller. I am now sending in a formal compliant against them through official third party regulators.

Hi Charles,

Thank you for sharing this review with us.

After reviewing the conversation you had with your seller, the proofs you have sent and the explanation given by our colleagues in charge of your case, we only can recommend you to contact the organizers of the event to complain about your dissatisfaction over the VIP features included in the ticket you have purchased on our platform.

Indeed, in the video you sent us it is also clearly confirmed by the personnel that you did not try to entry the backstage area, but the actual stage area reserved for the DJ. Backstage access does not always mean stage access, but in most cases is a seperate area, where guests can hang out.

The ticket listed by your seller stated VIP, therefore, you would need to directly check with the organizers to understand what VIP access meant to them and why you are disappointed.

Unfortunately, on our part, your seller did not add any specific features regarding the VIP accesses except what was written on the ticket itself, therefore, we as the reselling platform can't do much to help you out since your seller listed the ticket correctly.

We are very sorry for your disappointment and hope you can get an explanation from the venue itself.

Kind regards,
TicketSwap.

Bad experience regarding nominative tickets

I bought 2 tickets to the Kanye West concert at RCF Arena Italy. The tickets are nominative, i found this out after i had purchased the tickets (my fault for not doing my research) but after i found this out i contacted the support team to find out what the next step is (to change the name on the tickets). The support team was not that interested in solving my problem as their response was “ they probably won’t check the name at the venue, it’s okay” but i’m travelling from romania to italy and i’m not gonna do that without knowing for sure that i can attend the concert. After a bit of insisting on my part they told me to just resell the tickets and buy them elsewhere if im so afraid of not being allowed in. I don’t think selling nominative tickets without a system in place to change the name is a smart move, and also their customer service was beyond annoyed at me for wanting my money back or the names changed.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

We’re sorry to hear about your concerns, especially when planning to travel for an event. We understand how important it is to feel certain about entry conditions in advance.

As with any resale marketplace, there is always a level of risk when purchasing tickets from another user. This can be more challenging when the event takes place in another country, as entry policies may vary and are ultimately determined by the event organizer. That said, we do our best to review events and assess whether elements like the name on a ticket are likely to impact entry.

Regarding nominative tickets, due to GDPR regulations, we are not able to facilitate the exchange of personal details between users to change names on tickets. This is to ensure the privacy and protection of all users on the platform.

In most cases, tickets may include a name but this does not affect access to the event, as ID checks are generally not enforced. If there were a significant risk of entry being denied due to name mismatches, we would take action and restrict or disable sales for that event on our platform.

We understand that this may still feel uncertain, and we appreciate your feedback on this matter as we continue working to improve clarity around these situations.

Kind regards,
Team TicketSwap

I was not able to enter the event with the ticket I bought via TicketSwap because somebody used my QR code before me. Because I got another ticket, they now act like nothing happened and the problem is solved. I asked twice if the QR code is different after selling the ticket, but they didn’t answer, so be careful.

not trustworthy for sellers

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using TicketSwap. I used the platform to sell two tickets for the semifinals and final of the Monte-Carlo Masters, and the entire process has been frustrating and unfair.

First of all, sellers are not paid until after the event has taken place — and even then, payment is expected only up to 3 days later at best. Given how things are going, I am no longer even confident that I will actually receive my money.

Secondly, when listing the tickets, the platform imposed a maximum price I was allowed to sell them for. Despite this, the tickets were successfully purchased by a buyer who clearly accepted the price at the time of purchase.

However, after the event had already taken place, the buyer opened a refund claim stating that they had paid too much. I find this completely unacceptable. The price was clearly shown and accepted weeks in advance — allowing a refund claim after the event is simply unfair and undermines the entire selling process.

This feels like a scam. I could have easily sold the tickets through other channels, but instead I trusted this platform and now risk losing both the tickets and the money.

I would strongly advise other sellers to be very cautious when using TicketSwap.

Hi Gian Maria,

Thanks a lot for sharing this extended review. With reviews like yours we can keep on updating and optimising our platforms experience!

We completely understand it can frustrating if the buyer of your ticket claims they have paid too much for your listed tickets. We have checked your listing and we can see that you indeed exceeded our 20% maximum price cap. This price cap means you can only ask 20% above the face value of your tickets. This is also stated in our platform agreement, which you have agreed with.

Whenever we suggest a price, it's still the sellers responsibility to check if this price is still within the 120% price cap. If not, it is the sellers responsibility to adjust the price cap so it doesn't exceed the 120% price cap. In this case you have not done this and the buyer has the right to claim the amount overpaid back from you via TicketSwap.

You also stated that the original price was €415,- but in reality this was €207,-. So this was also incorrect, unfortunately.

We understand this can be frustrating, but it's the result of not following up to the platform agreement you agreed with previously. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our support team is always ready to help you.

Kind regards,

TicketSwap
