I received my claims check today so I feel now I can share my experience with Tin Leg. This was the first time I had to cancel a trip and file a claim. It took about a month from starting claim to receiving check. It requires a lot of documentation but I felt the process was fair and I would use them again.

When traveling to Europe, I have used this policy for medical services two separate times in the past. Both times I was reimbursed promptly. So I am purchasing it again for Summer 2025 travel.

Very easy to get a range of quotes

Easy to get a fast quote and even given options. I waited to just a week before travel and no problems.

The policies were easy to read and compare, and I was easily able to choose the one that was right for me.

I purchased a travel insurance policy from SquareMouth and they hooked me up with Tin Leg. The purchase days were from 12/28/2024 to 03/27/2025. I purchased a one way ticket to Acapulco which we do all the time because sometime we come home earlier or stay later. While I was there I got bit by a flesh eating spider and was under doctor's care and decided to come home on 03/22/2025 to see a "wound specialist" back in the state. I sent all my bills to Tin Leg and they refused to pay me any of it because my trip didn't have a defined return date which is total lie because on my purchase document from SquareMouth, there is a departure date. Don't ever think of buy any travel insurance from Tin Leg or SquareMouth who hooked us up with that horrible scam company. I plan on doing a review on SquareMouth also because they gave me this horrible travel insurance company.

Easy to get quotes and purchase the policy. Customer service reps were also knowledgeable and helpful.

Tin Leg’s cancel for any reason insurance is a LIE!! I bought 3 policies for 3 people with two different companies. 1 with Tin Leg, Two with Seven Corners. Tin leg had a little less expensive price for the one senior policy. The policies were for the Same trip, same circumstances. SEVEN CORNERS WAS GREAT! They processed and approved our claims quickly. They had a few inquiries but very efficient. Tin Leg denied the exact same claim for exact same insurance for exact same circumstances. TIN LEG’s cancel for any reason insurance is a lie! Spend the extra and use Seven Corners.

The coverage was easy to review and the price seems competitive. It was quick and easy.

This had to be one of the best online applications I've ever done. The only problem I had was with the virtual card which is something new to me, but it sounds very appropriate for using your credit card online. I would put that information at the beginning of the payment page.

I have used Tin Leg many times for overseas travel and luckily I have never had a claim until this past January while in Australia. My husband ran out of a life saving drug because we were forced to extend our stay due to a family situation. He had to go to the doctor for $81 and get the drug for another $50. Tin Leg would not reimburse for this money. I know it's not much money, but the point of having travel insurance, that you pay a very high price for, should have at least covered this small amount. Not happy.

Pretty easy to navigate.

I purchased the more expensive option for insurance and was unpleasantly surprised to find out the policy doesn't cover local travel (Uber etc) or meals. Which are literally the first two expenses incurred when your travel is interrupted.
