Shambles!
Shambles!! Still hiding behind COVID as an excuse to close their phone lines and only deal with online requests / queries (November 2022). Online staff only seem able to ask for forms to be filled in, won't phone you even if requested, might as well be bots. There doesn't seem to be any communication between staff members/bots online - as I received untimely responses to my query from different people (all named Fay!) who clearly had no idea what the other had said. A very frustrating and stressful experience booking flights with them through Gate 1. Contacting the airline direct was ultimately a much easier and fulfilling experience. Also, seems suspicious that the majority of the 5 star reviews are from one-time reviewers ££?

Boarding denied and zero support
I bought a ticket through Tix.nl on 17 May 2022 for departure on 26 June to Mauritius. 3 days before departure I received an email from airline Lufthansa that my flight from Amsterdam to Frankfurt has been cancelled. I have to fly with KLM now. According to TIX I didnot have to take any other action. Just catch my flight. In Frankfurt I was going to fly with Condor to Mauritius.
On 26 June KLM told me at the airport that my flight had not been paid for and could not be confirmed.
I had to contact the airline and ask them to validate my ticket.
For seven hours I have tried to contact both the airlines. No result. Nobody was ready to help or look for a solution. I paid 42 euro for my parking and approx same amount for phone costs as it is quite expensive to call from Amsterdam to Germany.
Though TIX is very fast in taking payments, once things go wrong with your ticket, they are never reachable by phone, so I sent an email to them on 26 June.
They replied one day later in poor English that they are sorry to hear about my bad experience. They suggested me to change my booking through their website and on the website itself I could find out what was going to be the cost of my changes.
So while I was furious that my whole plan of holidays could not take place, according to TIX by 'giving' them more money I could change my ticket. I cannot imagine how such companies can exist.
After more complaints on 9 August I received another email that I need to ask the airline to change the status of the ticket. After that I had to contact TIX again in assisting me to make changes in my ticket.
Flabbergasted with their unique customer service!
In short, once they have sold you the ticket and received their money, you can FO. They are never reachable, you get mostly automatic replies by e-mail. Everything is robotized and the human beings booking with them are also being treated like robots with whatsoever no feelings. You were not allowed to board your flight and see your parents in your home country? Just stay home and change plans. Feelings never come in the picture where TIX is concerned.
The Airlines are telling us to contact the agent TIX and TIX is telling us to contact the Airlines. Being the one who lost their ticket, has got many frustrations at the airport, written many mails to all airlines and agent, till date nobody has taken any responsibility for my loss. Biggest lesson I learned: never book through an agent. Book directly with the airline, only then there is a chance that they will compensate you.

After repeatedly not responding at all they have no contact number or no response times. They have promised after 15 mails to get back but again have not come back ! Don't ever book with this agency!

They give you nothing but lies instead of helping you, have been waiting almost a week to get my new ticket reissued and there is still no solution in sight. please do not book with this travel agency as they do not help you and leave you hanging. the airline cannot solve the issue either as they have not been paid by this travel agency. a real joke.

I feel a bit stupid for not reading the reviews for this company carefully enough before proceeding with a booking. Like so many other reviews have stated on this site... this company fulfills the BARE minimum. Luckily, my tickets are real, but good luck contacting a real human from this sketchy shell of a company.
There is zero accountability and the way they operate their business borders on fraud. I sincerely hope there is some justice handed out but I won't get my hopes up.
Their terms and conditions are not written on their website except for a vague blurb which speaks to cancellation options. I mistook this for "go ahead and cancel and request refund, pay us $XX per ticket in order to do this".
To find the full terms and conditions, you need to call them. But guess what? Their phone lines have been shut down.
I managed to contact a booking platform agent who pestered Gate1.ca enough for them to respond to me. In barely legible english, they copy pasted the real terms (that you can't see/access on their website) which states no refunds. I replied and asked if they think this is fair considering you can't access their terms and conditions because their phone lines are closed... silence on their end.
Do not be an idiot - do not use Gate1.ca or any of their affiliate companies.

definitely not a serious company. I made a reservation, got their confirmation, creditcard was charged, a couple of minutes after got the invoice and all seemed fine. Half an hour later received another email telling me that the booking had been cancelled pleading that the payment could not be verified (despite the bank confirmation received).
customer service inexisting, worst experience in platform bookings ever. Don't lose your time and money here.
