Had a lovely time visiting the Eiffel Tower and was met by such a supportive member of staff, who showed us where to get the tickets, and where to go and get in the lifts! He spoke really good English, which was a bonus as my French is poor. Loved the tower and the amazing views of beautiful Paris.

Booking error - No ticket refund

Terrible customer service and a rigid refund policy. I made a booking error on the Eiffel Tower Official Ticket Office website, and they refuse to give me a refund. They show zero understanding or flexibility for an honest mistake. Be very careful before buying tickets here, as they just keep your money.

Disappointed & Disgrace

🤬🙄😤😡😣☹️I’m sorry I was hugely disappointed by my experience yesterday.
It’s not Eiffel , it’s an Awful tower !

It’s meant to be an iconic French attraction but sadly it’s area & the grounds have deteriorated since I last visited 15 years ago . There was rubbish scattered all over the place & has only one WC . It’s an absolute disgrace for a country that takes pride in fashion , perfume , PSG & a super power !
We travelled thousands of miles across the Western Europe recently; visiting many other countries & cities , but sadly Paris has gone down as the worst part of our journey.
Paris has clearly reduced the traffic in the central metropolis but the city has NOT taken care of “park & ride” aspect. The A86 ring road is the congestion charge area but parking outside this area is an absolute rarity . We tried to find a car park for our vehicle but it took nearly 2 exhausting hours to find a spot ! Many car parks advertised are closed or open only during an exhibition season.
If you are driving an old car , my advice is to do your research thoroughly to avoid heavy fines .
Also be prepared not to have a pleasant experience in the Metro system especially during the peak times.

You have 0 chance to get a top floor…

You have 0 chance to get a top floor ticket through this site during busy seasons.
All there reselling partners hijack all the tickets and sell it for a much higher price.
I have been ready at 00:00 to book tickets 2 months in advance (most early option)
First website went down, after the agenda is broken so you can't go to the correct month.
Resellers book different and don't have this problems. As soon the agenda option was working all top floor tickets were already sold out. Absolutely 0 chance. Feels like 1 big scam.

Purchased tickets off them

Purchased tickets off them. Earliest time I could get in Australia was 12.30.
Tour companies must get the earlier ones. Turned up at 10.30 as it was pouring rain and saw no people or buses there. They told me I could not go up until my time or buy new tickets. So I actually could go up if I paid again. I asked 3 times at both lifts, not a person around except 6 staff chatting at each, but no they would not let me go up.

Just awful

Just awful. Bought tickets online on the official website, they didn't arrive by mail even though I received a confirmation of payment mail and note that they would shortly arrive. Incompetent organisation. Shame.

Awesome views, horrible security staff.

Awesome views let down by incredibly rude security staff. I was waiting outside the toilet for my family and a female security guard came over to me and my sister and said "AY, AY, AY, move. You can't stand here. Get out." Absolutely awful attitude and somewhat ruined the experience. Horrible woman. Maybe learn to communicate with other humans properly or find a job where you don't have to talk to people because you treat them like dirt. Lift/elevator staff were fairly friendly, thank goodness. 5 stars for the view, 1 star for security staff!

Unpolite attitude at Tour Eiffel

Tour Eiffel, the place and view is so fine, and a good experience. but I have to say, that at the entrence I did’nt feel welcome. I tried to be polite, as my french son-inlaw have tought me, and I said Bonjour to the young ticketinspektor. He repeated loudly Bonjour with an american accent and he and his colleague laughed loudly at me. Everybody arround could hear it.
I was not the only time the young man were unpolite. In the tour I asked for Way Down?, and the same young man repeated it again with an american accent, and he and the other inspector laughed loudly again. Actually I am not American
I feel sorry for your staff, if they have nothing better to do, than to mob the guests. Is that french courtesy, I hope not.

Horrible experience

I went with my husband and 2 kids during Christmas holiday. The queue was really long and disorganised. Not child pram friendly at all. You have to fold it to get into the lifts so if you're baby is sleeping this is far from being ideal. The toilets were horrendous, my husband threw up after going with my son who needed a wee. The view is nice but not worth the price, the wait and the frustration. Cherry on top of the cake on our way down the lift broke. It was manually released and shaking each time that it was going down. People were panicking inside the lift and my kids were screaming and crying. Once we reached the ground floor the doors were locked as we were not leveled so ground staff had to manually released the doors. I could see them laughing while we were all in distress. The compensation for this horrible ride was a hot chocolate.... Honestly such a waste of time and money. I can't believe that for the price we can't have clean toilets and functioning lift... What a broken landmark

To be short, impossible to buy tickets. No service (even the contact form on the website is not working). You would expect attractions like this to have their shit together....

An Unpopular Opinion: The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece, A Tourist Trap

An Unpopular Opinion: The Eiffel Tower - A Visual Masterpiece, A Tourist Trap

Dear Reader,

I feel compelled to share a perspective that might be considered controversial, especially for those planning a trip to the romantic city of Paris. While the Eiffel Tower undeniably stands as an iconic symbol and a magnificent feat of architectural engineering, a truly breathtaking structure to behold from a distance, I must vehemently argue against the pervasive hype surrounding the experience of actually *visiting* and *entering* it. In my honest opinion, making this a prime attraction to dedicate your precious travel time and hard-earned money to is not just overrated; it's an utterly unnecessary endeavor.

The entire process of gaining access is a testament to its over-commercialization. The Eiffel Tower notoriously overbooks its reservations, whether you're aiming for the first floor, the second, or the highly coveted summit. This leads to frustratingly long queues, crowded spaces, and a general sense of being herded rather than experiencing a world-renowned landmark. And then there's the journey itself: ascending in the lifts. It's truly baffling to witness grown adults, seemingly having never encountered an elevator before, incessantly videoing their ascent as if it were some groundbreaking technological marvel. This detracts from any potential sense of wonder and transforms what should be a unique experience into a mundane, albeit claustrophobic, ride.

Frankly, this magnificent iron lady should be left to serve its true purpose: an exquisite visual trinket for the city of Paris. Its beauty is best absorbed from afar – from the comfort of a charming Parisian apartment, a cozy hotel room with a view, or a leisurely stroll through a nearby park. From these vantage points, its grandeur and intricate design truly shine, untainted by the commercial chaos within. Anyone who succumbs to the pressure, or gets "suckered into" purchasing tickets to go inside, is, regrettably, just burning their money. I cannot stress this enough: the internal experience of the Eiffel Tower is simply not worth the financial outlay.

Consider, for a moment, what constitutes a truly worthwhile tourist attraction, a place where your money genuinely buys you an enriching, memorable experience. Think of the awe-inspiring Giza Pyramids in Egypt, steeped in millennia of history and mystery. Or the sprawling, meticulously curated Kew Gardens in London, a botanical wonderland. Imagine the sheer historical weight of monuments like the legendary Statue of Zeus in ancient Greece. Even a simple hike to the iconic Hollywood sign offers a unique perspective and a sense of accomplishment.

Then there are the cultural powerhouses: any Madame Tussauds museum offers interactive fun; the vast collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the British Museum in London, or the Academy of Motion Picture Art Museum in Los Angeles provide unparalleled educational and artistic immersion. These are places designed for discovery, for learning, for genuine engagement, and for spending your hard-earned money wisely. The Eiffel Tower, on the other hand, falls woefully short in comparison.

And regarding its funding? If the Eiffel Tower requires financial support, perhaps Gustave Eiffel’s relatives could sponsor their ancestor's iconic idea. Or, like any other entrepreneurial venture, it could seek out investors or corporate sponsors. Relying on overpriced, underwhelming tourist experiences to sustain it feels less like preservation and more like a calculated scam.

In conclusion, admire the Eiffel Tower, photograph it, let it be the picturesque backdrop to your Parisian dreams. But please, resist the urge to go inside. Your wallet, your sanity, and your overall travel experience will thank you.

Be prepared

The staff are extremely rude and ignorant, but once you get past them then the structure is well worth a visit. The stairs are HELL but are cheap for admission. The food/drink prices are of course astronomical for a captive audience. I’d say go once. Pay for the lift, do all three floors and make it a one off special experience

Appalling customer service for disabled service users - not sure they comply with current equality legislation but will definitely be following this up! Only giving one star as zero not am option.
Despite many backward and forward emails since the 3rd Jan, three telephone calls costing £22,50 from my mobile and still no resolution. Not even the courtesy of a call back despite 6 requests and promises to resolve the problem. Not only that but totally ignored requests to furnish details of the highest level of complaint details.

Website is misleading and terrible customer service.
Website advises to pre purchase a ticket but the elevator was sold out so it advises to but stairs and then get elevator tickets on arrival. but they charge it double, tried to speak to customer service but the lack customer resolution and basically just overcharge people. To avoid ruining the experience I had to purchase new tickets as it was impossible to take the stairs up two floors with a three year old.Shame the Frances most famous monument sin the hands of useless, money grabbing people lacking customer service and customer resolution!

Poor online booking experience.

I pre-purchased a ticket online, and although the payment was confirmed immediately, I received an email the next day stating that my order hadn’t gone through. By the time I attempted to rebook, the event was sold out. Instead of providing a reasonable solution—like manually adding me to the booking as a gesture of goodwill—they simply suggested I line up and hope for the best. The lack of proactive customer service was disappointing, especially given that the error was on their end.

Buy tickets in advance, and prepare for a long journey...

Great views, prices are not so bad comparw to othet things in Paris. A lot of stairs to go on, but in the end it is worth it. Come early as much as you can because later you will have to wait for the big lines to enter the park and Eiffel Tower. Bring drinks because you will need it. Also you can buy drinks and food on the first floor, and on the second floor you have souveniers shop. Great expirience and views, and must visit when you are in Paris!

I recently visited the Eiffel Tower and…

I recently visited the Eiffel Tower and was quite disappointed with the experience. The lines were incredibly long, and the wait time was much longer than expected. Once we finally made it to the top, it was extremely crowded, making it difficult to enjoy the view.

The prices for tickets and refreshments were exorbitant, and the overall atmosphere felt very commercialized and lacking in charm. Additionally, the area around the tower was swarming with aggressive vendors, which detracted from the experience.

Overall, the visit did not live up to the hype and was more stressful than enjoyable. I would recommend finding other, less crowded spots in Paris to appreciate the city's beauty.

Who is in charge around the Eiffel tower?

Different organized crime gangs around the Eiffel Tower, which are not tolerated by the police elsewhere in the city. The police is obviously not the one in charge. It looks like they have deals or agreements. Fake fundraising and pickpocket happens openly. Aggressive street vendors as well. But ball/Cup game and bracelet scam are harder to spot. I noticed the group responsible for that but they did not play it. There are as many scammers as toutists. It really is a minefield. Much different from other tourist attractions in Paris. Eiffel tower almost seems pickpocket and scam paradise
