This is a great way to enter into the world of Personal Training, the materials are excellent, and the variety of ways the information is presented really helps with retention and understanding. I found the explanations of human anatomy and kinetics to be the most useful. Also, customer support is responsive. I managed to secure a personal training job within 4 weeks of completing the course and had many other offers, There were a few points in the exam that weren’t well covered in the material, or I missed them, but I passed first time which shows how comprehensive the material is.

I got certified over the summer of 2025. This was a fantastic process overall, the study material was easy to use and applied directly to the exam and everyday personal training.

I’m currently still working as a personal trainer and run my own At-Home training LLC, where I go to client’s homes to help them workout.

I wouldn’t be where I am with my business without IPTA. The flexibility of their program along with the affordability of the study tools and exam made IPTA an easy choice for me when I was looking to earn my CPT.

Good value and easy to learn.
HOWEVER, a lot of companies want you to get a CPT from a more recognized organization. But as long as your company is ok with any accredited org you'll be fine.
That being said, I was able to get a job as a CPT within a month of completing my test. The job site is at my local community center where we get a good flow of clients from a nearby sports rehab facility. I would say that the material was easy to follow, you get the textbook as a pdf but the site has a feature that gives you summaries of each chapter with a short quiz after. Definitely recommend to anyone trying to get a good value, but just check what the jobs in your area require.

I loved the practice test options as well as the flash cards!! The content covered everything in order for me to pass!

Becoming a personal trainer was something I had wanted to accomplish for several years. After researching all my options, IPTA Trainer Academy was the right fit for me. In just 5 short weeks, I was equipped with the knowledge and confidence I needed to pass the certification exam. I am happy to report that I passed on the first try. I now have the credentials I needed to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of others and am looking forward to opening my own training facility next year.

I earned my IPTA personal training certification in May 2025, it was a smooth process and I was able to get my certification fairly quick. After receiving my certification, I got the opportunity to start working as an in-person trainer, and am now working as an online fitness coach. I chose IPTA because it is an NCCA accredited program and the great deal I got with the MVP package. The IPTA personal training certification has been a huge benefit to me in my career. As a current college student majoring in exercise science, with my IPTA certification I have been able to gain invaluable experience through training others and helping them reach their full potential. Overall, the IPTA personal training certification has given me the tools I need to pursue my passion for sharing the love of Christ as I help others reach their health and fitness goals.

I became certified with IPTA a few years ago. The test was as challenging for me as my state licensing tests for my other job (a mental health counselor). But the material provided was so thorough. The team was so supportive. I am not currently using my certification to work anywhere since I am focusing on my career as a college professor in another subject. However I have been using the training to design plans and help friends and family. They have been seeing so many results.

IPTA has hands down been the best company to go with. They make the certification and recertification process as easy as it can be and if any issues occur they respond back asap with great customer service. They’ve helped me accomplish my goals with training and no other company even competes. Highly recommend.

I couldn’t be happier about my experience with IPTA! I’m 70 years old and wanted to help other seniors achieve their health goals. Becoming a CPT and sharing my knowledge with other seniors seemed like a great way to do that. I was able to complete the IPTA CPT course and take and pass my final exam in a little less than a month!

Going with IPTA for my certificate and education was a no brainer! Everything they do has come from them making it as straight forward as possible for anyone to learn and master the content they provide. Everything feels seamless and isn't outdated like many other providers out there. I went through a few others in the past, but I was able to get the most from IPTA! Just do it! You won't regret it.

I completed my IPTA CPT with trainer academy in 2023. It was an amazing opportunity to become a Certified Personal Trainer in an affordable way. I found the learning materials easy to follow and passed my exam first time! The team are very friendly and found them responsive to emails.

I have been using this program to study for the CSCS test. Though I have found it helpful I did not help me pass my exam. I also found multiple inconsistencies between the information in the study material vs the information in the textbook. The practice tests do not provide the correct answers and some of the flash cards are also incorrect as compared to the textbook. I also reached out to them multiple times about this and have gotten no response from them. I do not feel like they care about the information they are putting out or making sure that issues within their program are fixed. Would not recommend.

The customer service was outstanding and I had a good experience with the product. 5 star customer service.

The product itself has some holes — some of the material just doesn't make sense. It doesnt align perfectly with the ACE textbook even though it is sorted by chapters, and the material has some odd typos/sentences that just do not make sense but it is a solid study material.

IPTA is an emerging company. They of course do not yet compare with the personal training companies that have been around for decades and have true international renown. that being said, if IPTA maintains their accreditation they have the potential to be a consistent choice for beginners. I used them as my first certification because of their affordability and free access to study materials. At the time when I applied (spring 2023) they did not have a robust training program, so I did have to be very internally motivated in order to pass the test. I am now two years later and considering rectifying with them because they are still more affordable then the rest… and in honesty if you are creating your personal training business like myself the certifying company does not really matter. Whether it’s NASM, ISSA, or IPTA what matters is how much you apply yourself, do the extra research for your clients, and treat each client with dignity.
One recommendation I would suggest for them is to host their own online CEU courses or partner with a third party that does. I think if that was included in a package they offer that would be an easy one stop shop and a no brainer.

My training experience was excellent. The reading material they provide is very thorough and I learned a lot. It's no wonder why they are great at what they do. I would recommend this certification to everybody looking to get into personal training or, like myself, doing it for pleasure/to add to your knowledge base

IPTA made the process really straight forward - great customer service and easy to follow instructions. The content was very easy to understand and engage with. A first class experience!

IPTA has been great. Compared to other Certified Personal Trainer certifications, this is SUPER inexpensive. The training material is free too! There were some growing pains as they were getting their accreditation, but they have gotten better with practice. I highly recommend IPTA. The biggest downfall is some hiring people don't recognize the name yet.
