I'll agree with the scam label that has been bestowed upon this company. I stupidly booked through nationalrail.com not nationalrail.co.uk and you are taken to traintickets.com. this is where it all unravels particularly with train strikes happening. No customer service, numbers provided to support take you to national rail who do not recognise the reference number provided. To change the train ticket online incurs a much bigger cost and because you have no customer service you have no option but to pay more! Refunds at present will only be given for reasons of death or illness nothing provided for strikes!!! I could kick myself for booking with this company! Stear clear book through nationalrail.co.uk at all cost!!!!

No booking confirmation, no comms

We booked 4 tickets using traintickets.com after seeing it mentioned on MSE. initial experience was good, website easy to use, prices very good, payment seemed OK. Just need to get our booking ID and that would be great. An email duly arrived, but no boiling ID was included so we couldn't print any tickets. Their chat function didn't work and no phone lines so tried email. I'm still waiting on a response after 5 days. Raging. Now trying to contact credit card Co to cancel tickets. Avoid

The booking in question failed to complete successfully. Although this was unfortunate, the customer service team replied to the initial request within 24hrs to advise the customer of the failure. No payment was completed.

Savings yes but poor service

Savings yes but poor service. Saved £16 on tickets (paid £62 not £78 on trainline), but split tickets were a pain. 8 tickets for a return trip. Didn't want to print out at home (too much paper). Ticket machine and staff at station didn't recognize the ticket code. So was left to use mobile phone. 8 attachments received (4 for outward journey, 4 homeward), but not in order, and no useable reference (eg Bodmin to Exeter) until attachment opened. Each ticket had to be saved to My Files on mobile. NO live tracking service, no info for platforms at stations. Will stick with trainline - so easy to use.

Excellent for getting the best train ticket prices!!!

I have used traintickets.com a number of times and it is an excellent platform for finding great ticket prices. I travel on trains frequently and will continue to use them for all future journey's. The ticket prices are cheapest i've found and the process is very simple. In terms of their communication, I cannot fault it. One of my journey's was booked online but I had an issue collecting the ticket due to the timeframe of booking to travelling. Refund was processed immediately after emailing them.

Great service, great prices. Highly recommend!

Excellent. No fuss, cheap return tickets

I purchased the tickets without problems. I had come to them because a major competitors user interface was difficult to use.
Traintickets.com provided me the cheapest tickets for my journey. At first I thought there was a mistake they were so inexpensive. Less than STG26 for return trip Manchester to Northampton.
So I didn't need to contact them like others have said. And I didn't need a refund. I just needed a no-fuss cheap return ticket to Northampton and they delivered pronto.
The train jouirney was excellent BTW

Awful. No help if there's a problem.

All ok until you need help from Customer 'Service', which is non existent.
They haven't bothered to reply to any of my emails relating to a ticket refund.
Link on site for help with any disputes is irrelevant as it is an EU service and, guess what, we're not in the EU any more.
Am resorting to claiming money back via my CC company and will certain never use them again.
I suggest you stay well clear.

They seem no longer interested once they have taken your money.

I booked a return train journey from Milton Keynes to Blackpool North for September 2021. I requested forward facing seats, as due to a medical condition I get sick if travelling in backward facing seats. The seats provided by TrainTickets.com are backward facing, in spite of my specific request for forward facing seats. I have emailed TrainTickets.com to say that I will be sick for all of the outward and return journey if they do not rectify the seating arrangement. They have not replied to my email. It seems that they are not interested in the fact that I will have a distressing journey and be sick all the way due to the fact they have not provided me with forward facing seats as requested. I have checked the train seating arrangements on the Avanti West Coast website and there are plenty of unbooked forward facing seats at present for the journey I have booked. It is inexcusable therefore for TrainTickets.com not to have provided them for my booking. I cannot however book the seats, as my booking has already been made with TrainTickets.com
It seems that they are not interested in my welfare, and now that they have taken my money they do not wish to know.
What sort of a company would behave in this manner, it is beyond belief that they seem to care so little for their customers welfare.
