I wanted to have a more ethical bank with less of a carbon footprint, but without risking my money. Triodos ticked those boxes. They are very transparent about where they invest, the card you receive turned out to be a conversation starter and they have now expanded to have some good bonds/ ISA/ saving accounts interest rates. I have also always managed to get through to them easily when i had a problem, and they are very good at trying to solve a problem. Before going with them, i read some reviews that people's card got declined for online paymentsm but i haven't had that happen. Honestly, for a smaller bank, im impressed and happy and it's been 3 or 4 years.

Very timely and helpful response to on line query. Website easy to use. Trusted bank.

I made the switch from another bank, for ethical reasons, and it’s all gone very smoothly so far. I don’t want to jinx it, but no problems whatsoever. And lots to like about Triodos.
I really like the way the debit card is designed and paperless experience. The mobile app does what is required, with minimal fuss and easy on the eyes.

Awful processes - the opposite of a modern online bank. To make a transfer you have to download, print, sign and post a form. How is that defensible in 2025?! Shame - great ethical and social impact bank, but it lets itself down by being entirely un-customer-centric

A great bank that’s ethical and has brilliant customer care.
When I first joined there was a problem that was causing delay in payment.
I contacted the Triodos team and they had it resolved really quickly.
Highly recommend them.

Initially just had an ISA savings, but have now changed all of my day-to-day banking to Triodos. Their app is super easy to use and I know my money is not aiding polluters and weapons manufacturers!

The app works really well and is intuitive to use. But most importantly it feels like our banking is making a positive impact on the world.

I am extremely pleased with how easy it is to find the information required for my tax return!. Since I also bank with two other banks, I know the difference. Thank you for improving your system.

The only truly ethical bank, which is completely transparent about its investments.
You may a small monthly fee rather than benefit from the bank exploiting vulnerable people with big overdraft charges. You only get customer service in office hours, but it is a helpful and informed human not some AI idiot-bot burning up the planet to spout platitudes.
If all you care about is getting the best deal for yourself, then Triodos isn't for you.

Resolved issue with card payment to USA. Thanks to Toni's help we discovered that there is a security setting to restrict debit card payments to within Europe. Toni advised that this can be changed via the Triodos app and once this was set to 'Worldwide' the payment to the USA went through fine.
The service and support we receive from Triodos is excellent and we have had no regrets since moving to them over two years ago. We would definitely recommend banking with them if you value service, want a user friendly & effective banking app and wish to bank with a bank which has an ethical approach to managing your savings, not knowingly investing in or lending to unethical businesses.

I wish to open a savings account with triodos bank. On their website, it tells me to download their app.
I downloaded their app.
I attempted to apply for an account using the app as instructed. It redirected me to their website.
The website told me to apply through the app.
Is anyone else able to detect the problem here ?
Jokes aside, I appear to be stuck inside a never ending loop of doom akin to having PTO inscribed on both sides of a bit of paper.
I just humbly request that i wish to open a savings account with Triodos Bank. Please.
/* Update 17:22 same date. */
A verification code arrived. Typed this into app. App says to type in loads of stuff. Did that. App says "We need to take a video, get ready". Got ready. Nothing happened.
Got ready AGAIN. Nothing happened.
LOOP1 Repeat.
Goto LOOP1.
Can you diagnose the problem?
Look carefully at the two preceeding lines that contain the word "LOOP1".
Would you suppose that might lead to a sub-optimal outcome ?
Jesus.
I just wish to open an account please.

This review *WILL BE TAKEN DOWN IN 2 DAYS* unless I supply further infomation including an account number
It's happening again. Can you guess yet? Getting warm? Has the penny dropped ?
This bank are asking me for an account number. *Before I have opened an account.*
Here is a schematic of the code (again)
NEVER_ENDING_LOOP_OF_DOOM
do nothing
goto NEVER_ENDING_LOOP_OF_DOOM
I don't know why, but, all things considered, I seem to have formed the impression that this outfit might have a less than a firm grip on the issue. Sub optimal. Poor. Useless, even. Does this reflect on the underlying culture of the bank? What do you think?
This is a genuine shame, because I really would like to OPEN AN ACCOUNT *PLEASE*

Amazing sustainable projects meeting a wide range of needs. I highly recommend Triodos Bank. High ethical standards.

My wife and I wanted to open a joint account at Triodos because it doesn't invest in fossil fuels. However our attempt failed because either a driving licence or a passport is required and my wife has neither. A telephone enquiry confirmed that without such identification it is not possible to open an account.
It seems ironic that a bank with such high ethical principles is unable to accommodate a potential customer who neither drives a car nor travels abroad.

Entering my third year with Triodos, as good as any of the big banks, of course with the rather important fact that my money is not funding ecologically unsound or fossil fuel projects.
As easy as anything to swop over both current and savings accounts.

Have recently opened a current account and am very pleased with it. Have been a savings customer for a while so know how good this bank is.A little surprised at the negativity/hostility by mainstream institutions but am more than at home with Triodos and continue to be so.

Excellent experience over the first 6 months of having a Triodos ISA account - so pleased to know my money is having a positive impact rather than just being used to fund commercial areas I don't agree with.
Brilliant customer service the couple of times I've needed it.

I've had two Triodos accounts for about three years which I use primarily to process income and expenditure on properties I own. In that time I've been super impressed by the ease and speed with which I can do anything I need to.
However Triodos stood head and shoulders above all my other bank accounts recently when I was mugged whilst overseas of my phone (which had the Triodos app on it). I wasn't able to phone the bank (obviously) but my partner was and they immediately suspended app and account access until such time as I could phone in myself. Regaining access to my accounts was not only very strictly monitored but quickly and securely done, with lots of options for getting back into the app, and all this from 6 000 miles away.
Compare this to the endless debacle at the high street banks I also bank with and their total inability to arrange account access from overseas and I'm moving all my accounts to Triodos in the new year.

I have banked with Triodos for several years, I switched because they have the most ethical policies of all the banks, plus their customer service is the best I have experienced. If I have to call up for any reason the call is always answered quickly, and my query is quickly answered
