Poor quality and no communication

I ordered a 3-pack of finger limes early Thursday (just before 1am) and paid £6.99 for DPD Express Food Delivery – expecting dispatch later that same day – as I needed them for Saturday. I received only an order confirmation – no dispatch notice or tracking from the seller.

By Friday, with still no word, I contacted them via their website’s chat (which appeared active but was unmanned), then used the online contact form as no email or phone number was listed. I made it clear that if they didn’t arrive by Saturday, the order should be cancelled.

Only later Friday did I receive a shipping notice – from DPD, not the seller. As of Monday (a bank holiday), I still haven’t received any reply to either message.

I was sent 6 finger limes instead of the 3 ordered, likely to compensate for the tiny size – they were barely 4 cm long and thinner than my index finger. However, this wasn’t explained anywhere. The pearls were so tiny they couldn’t be used as intended. I attempted to scoop out about 1/5 teaspoon to test the look, but abandoned the idea entirely – they looked underwhelming and were far too sour to complement a dessert. In the end, they went unused and were completely wasted.

For the price (£10.95 + £6.99 express shipping), I expected quality and at least basic communication. I got neither.

As for their grand claim of sustainability – the limes arrived in a relatively large box crammed with polystyrene peanuts. For a company that states “sustainability is a core value”, that packaging was anything but eco-friendly. No recycled, compostable, or even paper-based filler – just a mountain of plastic waste to dispose of.

In short: poor quality, no service, misleading claims – and an absolute waste of time and money. I won’t be ordering again.
