Should be called “FakeCar”! I was in LA and found an incredibly cheap car through the website. The gave me the address so I could swing by the lot before my appointment the following morning. The car... See more

Pricing transparency!! Not even close
Pricing transparency!!! Until you are ready to buy and made arrangements. Suddenly the price goes up $5,000 from what was quoted. As dealer add market adjustment and other accessories fees.
Totally inaccurate pricing info just to bait consumers.
IT’S NOT QUICK & EASY TO REVIEW CARS FOR SALE ON TRUECAR.COM
For car buyers truecar.com looks good at first use, BUT BEWARE, because if you want to contact the actual seller (they are a conduit for dealers) you have to click on “get actual price” and then go through a whole process to sign up, during which you are asked to give your name, address, phone, etc. and agree to their Terms and Conditions. After that the dealer/seller calls and texts you whether you asked them to or not!! Time-consuming and irritating, when True Cars could simply put the dealer name/phone on the front page of the listing info.
Not the price
Big waste of time just call the dealer don’t use truecar. Tried true car picked out a vehicle on the site started to commence the deal and buy the car. Then the dealer called and said to me that’s not the price. We mark our cars up $5000. So I proceeded to call truecar and back and forth between the dealer and truecar and got nowhere . Big waste of time
Unsolicited email advertisements
This company uses information obtained illegally in order to send unsolicited advertisements, again, illegally. Never, EVER trust this sketchy website.
How can one company lie so much?
Just saying that the experience i had sucked.. they lied multiple times by multiple people and no one seemed to care.. But if you want to deal with these peeps who am i to say different...
Not up front pricing
The whole point of the site is that you supposedly get a price that the dealer will honor when you take them your quote. Spoiler alert - they don't (honor the price). It is just another pile of people through the door for the sales guys. I am sure TrueCar is aware. Given the supposed model you would expect them to follow-up with consumers to ask if they got the promised price. But the dealers are the customers so they keep quiet and keep the checks coming in.
I've used True Car three times
I've used True Car three times. Using the program made the process of finding a new or used car easy. You have the freedom to find the car you want and can afford. There's no sales person hassling you or changing your mind out of the car you want. The program made it easy. I just helped my sister get a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu with is program and she is very satisfied and happy. TrueCar is the way to go when looking for a car.
Used TrueCar thru NFCU to research and…
Used TrueCar thru NFCU to research and tentatively purchase a Toyota Tundra. The "certified" dealer in central Florida had two vehicles listed that I tried to get pre-approved for. In both cases the NFCU portal refused to proceed because the listed VIN#'s couldn't be verified. Called the dealer and was told those VIN#'s showed as invalid because they were already "reserved" for other customers. Of course, they would gladly help me find another significantly higher priced vehicle they actually had in their inventory. Not a trust inspiring experience, to say the least (both for TueCar or the "certified" dealer).
Useless. DON'T give your info.
Utterly inaccurate. It gave my contact info to dealerships that don't have the car I want.
If you use, generate a fake email account and DO NOT give your real phone number

Nothing in stock when looking for it on…
Nothing in stock when looking for it on true car. Almost all cars are in production or "in transit" This is why people hate buying cars. What a complete and total waste of time.

We were quoted a price on the True Value website. We drove for 5hrs and rented a vehicle to get the car. When we arrived they said the car had another offer on it. This was after much communication with the True Value/dealership reps.
So disappointed that Sam's Club would allow this sort of unprofessional behavior.
Excellent, you will not be disappointed
True car was very instrumental in me purchasing a new car. Was not disappointed and the process was very easy. You will not be disappointed
DOES NOT honor their pricing
DOES NOT honor their pricing. I found a car on truecar.com, went through the purchase now forms. Auto Advantage USA, Cape Coral, FL is the TrueCar dealer. They texted me it was their car, a pricing error, and upped their price. They set the price, I accepted, then they wanted more. They texted me I could pay the higher price, or have a nice day.

Im angry that truecar provided me with wrong information and angry that the dealership didnt tell me that they didnt have the vehicle type i was looking for. I felt i had no choice but to wait for the vehicle i wanted.
Integrity Is Dead
They just don't care about the customer or appreciate that working people are coming in to their dealer ship to spend their hard earn money. They don't care about the people, they are not transparent.
Dishonest TrueCar
So on Wednesday In the morning I punch in my 2023 Hybrid into TrueCar. Wait a couple minutes and bingo $35,737. Seems fair and honest so on to the next step. Contacting the three dealers they say want to buy it at this price. Auto Boutique Georgesville Rd, Byers Chevrolet N Meadows Dr, and Tansky Sawmill Toyota Sawmill RD. Guess what ? They all said no way. Or offered 30k. Now being an old man who stands behind his words I got riled. So I call 1 888 878 3227 TrueCars service help number. 1st lady says no problem let me get the info and hand it over to dispute resolution team and worse case we have a wholesale dept that will buy it if they don't. um not totally true .. Didn't hear back so i called back, 2nd man says yes we are looking into it. 3rd time i call back different man say being looked into. 4th person this morning say no one has filled a dispute and that she would do it now. All these people tried to help 1 was good enough to really do it. But, guess what ? Even though their TrueCar page say simply do these 3 things and get your offer. 1) Contact the dealer, 2)Bring your paperwork, 3)Get paid. Needless to say this is all Bull Hockey! You would think a company would stand by its offers. But tonight TrueCar's dispute guy called me. He was nice and had to listen to me vent because he had started out saying we are on a recorded line. poor guy. Old men can go on for ever. But the final lie is he said that the program on their computer they use had made a mistake! Interesting. And If I still want to sell to TrueCar redo my app. Guess what ? Now they want to steal it for $32,827, almost 3 grand less. Truecar wants to say that the dealers come up with the prices? That is what an unreputable company would probably say. Oh, and at the end when I said " you know, not once did you say hey Dave what can we do to make this right or we are so sorry" Guess what after I said this he offers me a gift certificate for 100 bucks. Really? TrueCar You need some learn'in. If it really comes I told him I'll give it to the kid who cuts my grass. Just to rant longer. Go on TrueCars web page and search 2023 hybrid? . Tell me if those are stock pics being used to fish for customers? And call to see if any are real? Just asking also look at the range of price?

The car pricing is high and inaccurate
This year I planned to buy a couple of cars to upgrade. I bought the first with the help of TrueCar. Now, trying to buy the second one, I started off not using TrueCar. Then, I decided to use TrueCar to get deals. Came to find out, the pricing on TrueCar is higher than the window sticker price. I also just realized that the first car I bought this year reflected with dealer's add-ons on the purchase order. Not sure what is going on, but it gives the impression that TrueCar is not on consumer's side trying to save money in car buying experience.
