NO DELIVERY AS PROMISED - CANCELLED ORDER

I placed an order on Thursday AM for delivery Saturday PM. I got an email & text confirmation that the order was received within minutes. All well & good except that they didn't tell the restaurant about the order until less than 1/2 hour before scheduled delivery and then only because I requested a delivery status report. Needless to say that the restaurant couldn't fill the order leaving me to fend for myself when Caviar cancelled the order. Apparently they only know how to take an order but not how to place the order. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Who owns this company???

Whomever owns this company really ought to be ashamed of themselves. I tried this app for the first time yesterday. I received my order about an hour later, but it was not what I ordered. I tried to contact Caviar support, but there is no one to talk to, no response, and no resolution. Waste of money. Disappointed. Deleted the app.

Terrible service in the LA area

Terrible service in the LA area. Consistently late by about an hour and the customer service is all artificial intelligence. It's almost like TryCaviar is set up to just steal your money. Use UberEats... works much better.

Absolute worst experience

Absolute worst experience. Don’t use Caviar ever unless you enjoy paying for something and not getting anything in return. Customer service is a joke. Paid for food. Two hours pass. Says food was delivered but it was not. Called restaurant and delivery guy brought food back 😞. Now we were charged for a bunch of food and have nothing to show for it. Like others I would give zero stars if it were possible. Trying to reach someone to resolve this issue is a complete joke.

We ordered our food at 6.25pm,it is now…

We ordered our food at 6.25pm,it is now 11.20pm and there is no sign of our food. I’ve tried to call but no customer service number so have only 2 inconsistent and sporadic customer service emails that were of no use at all. I spoke directly with the restaurant and they had the food read hours ago but no sign of the courier. No food, terrible service and stupidly expensive service / delivery costs!!!

Don't waste your time, use Seamless

Don't waste your time! I ordered from the Caviar app and it told me it would be max. 70-minutes. The app updated me that my food was being prepared, then that it had been delivered. No sign of food.

I spoke to the restaurant and it hadn't even been prepared yet but the Caviar app doesn't allow restaurants to enter anything but a 60 minute prep time--even when it's actually 2 hours.

No customer service is available at Caviar and then they have the nerve to email me that the entire problem is based on Covid-19--shameful. Use GrubHub, Seamless, DoorDash, UberEats, anything but Caviar.

Their account credit expires!

Their account credit expires! So I had $20 credit and one day decided to use it, but it was no longer available! WTH?!? That’s shady business practice! Is that even legal in California!?! Won’t use them again base on that unethical business practice!

I ordered my food and never got my food

** I revised my review. I did give them a 1 star but I changed it to 2 but still not sure if they deliver or not. I also canceled the card I used after reading the other reviews. I was just contacted back via email by the company and was told I would receive refund for my order in 2-7 business days. Back to Grubhub I go and I am still HUNGRY. Below was my initial complaint:

I ordered my food and never got it. I never got a text or call or nothing. This app is a complete scam. I tried contacting their non existent chat and no response. All I want is my money back and that may not happen. Please do not order from them unless you like giving away money. I am very upset and hungry.

Okay

Okay, so here is my story. I have been using Caviar for a while now with never anything but the most courteous and satisfactory encounters. The delivery persons were without exception friendly and helpful. However one day I went to sign in and it said my accunt was closed. I tried to contact them but you had to have an account to contact them and, mine was closed. So I created a new account with a new email address only so I could contact them and find out what was wrong. I have no issues with my bank or anything else. So I finally got a reply. I was deactivated for "malicious and abusive or stalker" behavior. Now, I am absolutely not that kind of person. I have never had ANY problem or misunderstanding, nothing with any driver from any company. They refused to tell me exactly what this behavior was. I knew it was their error. It was not as though I had had some little tiff with a driver or an attitude or words or ANYTHING. Not like I just didn't realize what I had said or done wrong. There was absolutely nothing, nothing open to interpretation, nothing. So they still have cancelled my account and refuse to consider clerical or app error. I am the wronged person here, the customer getting bad service. It is also highly insulting and enraging.

Not Trustworthy

Someone used their platform to make 3 withdrawals from checking account totaling over $1500. So yeah, not a big fan of Trycaviar.com

Took 3.5 hrs from order to delivery

Took 3.5 hrs from order to delivery. The pizza arrived cold. I tried to cancel the order after having waited an hour but was unsuccessful. Customer service sucks. $55 wasted! I am deleting my account.

Bad customer service

Please please do not order from caviar and hey restaurant owner please use other platform for food delivery because caviar is now like scam. They never respond and never returned money back even if don’t get food. If you have any problem in your restaurant tablet or apps they don’t care and never response. Totally scam, I hate this company

Worst Ever Do Not Bother

I would give 0 stars if I could. Never again horrible customer service no number to call no response. I do not know why any restaurant would use this service since they end up fielding the complaints.

They took my money and that was all.

They took my money and that was all.
Their own app showed nothing was delivered.
Multiple requests to cancel for something not delivered. (crickets).
24 hours later, they wont even respond to cancel the order that was never delivered.
They have a horrible system that was held together by tape and strings and now, with high demand, they are buckling.
Other delivery services are thriving while these guys appear to be planning to fold - with your money in pocket.

Not try this app ever. I am still waiting for my food, I ordered it 2 and a half hours ago. No way to contact them, I coul only send an email and I had the automatic message we will reply to you as soon as possible. The worst app ever

FRAUD

Someone fraudulently logged into my account and purchased $300 worth of gift cards. I contacted Caviar the very next day to alert them and was told my bank needed to contact them. There would be no refund issued and my account was then closed.

This is a terrible way to treat previously loyal customers.

quality has tanked

When they first started, they were very good. But unfortunately, the quality has really dropped. These days, there always seems to be a problem. I will probably be deleting this app and stick to seamless.
