I don't know if my food will ever be delivered…

It's now more than 30 minutes past the delivery time. Caviar does not respond to me and the order has not left the restaurant. The drive from restaurant is more than 20 minute drive. So it's a 2 hour delivery window. I don't eat this late. DO NOT USE CAVIAR. There is no phone number to find out what is happening. I have requested status update and not gotten any. I have sent two emails. NO RESPONSE.

Until today 2/29/20 very pleased with Caviar. Today: food delivery arrives 1 hr after estimated time. Cold. The restaurant was on time (we phoned) but Caviar a no show. The delivery guy explained that he had two other deliveries to do and was stuck in traffic (I thought they bike?!) and that's why of course it takes a full hour. Cold food + 1 hr lateness. Caviar's response: $10 credit (total order was $140+) WILL NEVER USE CAVIAR AGAIN. And support is non-existent. Unless you find a $10 credit an acceptable response. I guess Caviar is no more. Caviar = Doordash and should be renamed DONOTTRYCAVIAR

I am close to a daily customer with TryCaviar. I thought they were one the best for the past 2 years.
Such a down slide from then up until this present date, 2/25/2020.

Food delay messages in abundance (14) all showing "Apologies for the delay, John Doe is at Wagamama - Midtown now. Only finishing touches stand between you and (food) bliss.
Cold food, Courier's delivering 10 orders and you're the LAST !
And do expect the same ride with Customer Support!

Last night Caviar committed fraud in my opinion. They took an order for a restaurant that has been closed for renovations since early January 2020. The cost was $66 and all the add-ons brought the total to $85.12. I did not know that Pietisserie was not yet open - did not open until today, February 15, according to the voice message on their phone. I actually received an email from Caviar informing me that my order had been delivered. Say what??????? I could not reach customer service at all, even through chat, until 3 hours later. What were they doing listing this restaurant and taking orders when it was not open??? Certainly gives me pause that they could say the food had been delivered when that was an impossibility. Fraud or just really atrocious IT people. Are these services run by bots, who just do whatever they want, or are they getting input from real restaurants and drivers? BTW, to those of you who think that Doordash is not a good delivery service, be informed that Caviar has been bought by Doordash. Perhaps that explains their total lack of concern vis-a-vis customer service.

TERRIBLE BUSINESS

when i first tied them it was pretty good. i work for a law firm so the food was perfect and got here on time. within this past month i have had an issue FOUR times with my order. the website changed items i never requested. my order began to be later and later with no explanations. today i ordered at noon and it is now 1:30 and i still have no food. i put in several requests at this point to cancel and refund my money. i don't know what the change is but it is horrible and after today if i can't physically go and get it myself i will never use this service and i will tell everyone i know in the business field downtown not to use them either. philadelphia is very busy around lunch hour they could really use the business but now i wouldn't refer them if you paid me to.

DoNotTrycaviar

Terrible at managing deliveries. Would hate to be a restaurant working with them, only to make food, have it sit there, and then wait while no one ever shows up to deliver it. They won't tell you there's an issue with the order until the food is ready or later - maybe 45 minutes or an hour after you placed your order. And even then they are happy to let you keep waiting -- they'll just push back the order estimate 10 minutes at a time until you get fed up and contact them. Should be called DoNotTryCaviar.

Tremendously UNRELIABLE

Tremendously UNRELIABLE. Would give 0 stars if possible. WASTE OF TIME. I placed a lunch order for my companies clients and the card kept saying cannot be charged. The client RARELY deviates from their lunch regime, so I took particular diligence in trying to find a way to make this work. The particular restaurant was exclusive to trycaviar.com. I spoke with my accounting department twice to verify everything okay on our end. We even called the credit card company to verify who asserted it had to be on the providers end. Trycaviar has NO accessible customer service. You enter your email and wait. I still have not heard back and it has been 2 hours!!! Not to mention I called the restaurant and also did not get an answer. Worst experience and waste of energy and resources!! So many people involved for NO reason. I believe in the utmost customer service which is why I went to bat to get our client their request. There is no excuse. They should just disable their website.

Been using them two years and while there was an issue before, last night's was downright awful where my courier went to a totally different city first, before eventually bringing my now cold food an hour and twenty minutes later. Unlike a year ago, absolutely no response to issues with a delayed order especially of this type. The courier was unapologetic (what does he care? I prepaid the tip). Being acquired by Door Dash has most certainly not helped them. I predict they will be gone in six months.

Same terrible service as others reported

Same as the others. Been using Caviar since 2014 and have about 60 orders since that time. Approximately half the orders have issues including several that either arrive incomplete or not at all. Last night we didn't get our order which was over $100. The service called but left no voicemail or callback number (messages when trying to call the number back say they are outbound numbers only) also the carriers number does not accept calls. The only option is to email them which results in zero help. My only option is to do a charge dispute with Amex.

What is it about the delivery personnel that they can't follow a map or check an order receipt to make sure it is complete? If Grubhub, ups, the post office, FedEx and anyone else who can find a NYC address ring my buzzer then why can't caviar delivery? The service is atrocious.

Caviar keeps getting sketchier and now seems unsafe!!!!!!

I have been using caviar for years and the past 6 months or so things have taken a dramatic turn for the worse. I now will no longer use them as their drivers selection is terrible. I typically order delivery via caviar about 3 times a week to home or work. Over the past 3 weeks I have had issues with every single order I have made. Twice the driver delivered my food and no one could figure out where. Driver updated the delivery then apparently turned their phone off as support could not reach them 5 minutes after my delivery supposedly was delivered. Another order the driver forgot about the order so it was delivered two hours after I had canceled the delivery. I waited for 90 minutes and the driver just kept driving around so I canceled. One driver that delivered to my home made me so uncomfortable, The delivery person was not even driving the vehicle and the driver seemed to be casing my neighborhood and asking questions that made him seem like he was up to no good. All of this was reported and caviar simply says they are working on improving. Simple fix make sure that everyone involved is registered with Caviar!!! I really do not like being told 1 person is delivering to me to come out to a car that has 2 people in it and the car doesnt even match the one that should be coming. Caviar needs to screen their drivers better and ensure their customers safety.

Finally done with Caviar. Terrible customer support.

I've used Caviar for over 3 years, and the support has significantly worsened over the last year. My most recent experience was the final straw:

I had fraudulent activity on my account (seems to be a recurring thing with these reviews) and I asked what credit card was used, but the Caviar support rep told me they couldn't see that information because they already closed my account. The told me they were going to investigate for 2 days and then send me an email back with the results.

It appears the only way to get in touch with their support is over Helpshift chat (within the app), but now that my account has been deactivated, I cannot access that either.

Are you guys nuts? TryCaviar is awesomer than all the others...

I need to post something about Caviar, especially in light of all of the bad reviews.

I LOVE CAVIAR. I am executive assistant and have used the service for over 3 years. Okay. They are not perfect. But DAMN NEAR for a what they are.

I have used, Postmates, DoorDash, UberEats, GrubHub and find that the easiest interactions and fairest prices live on TryCaviar. Also, when I DO have an issue, they are lightening fast to either fix the issue or offer a solution that will not leave me hungry in the cold (literally) 😜 Unlike ALL of the other services. The customer service experience for ALL of the others makes you feel like a fish out of water when you are dealing with REAL TIME issues like forgotten items and wrong orders.

For corporate events, they are a dream. I don't know where all of you that have so many complaints come from, but in 3 years, that has not been my experience.

Someone gained access to my account and made fraudulent orders. Luckily I was looking at my bank account when I noticed a pending charge for 75 dollars. No security whatsoever at this website. No 2fa, no suspicious login, no notification. terrible.

My account has been compromised and…

My account has been compromised and there are two fraudulent charges in my account order history. I messaged customer service and it took them over 2 hours to respond that they cannot see the charges on their end. I explained I can see the charges in my account history and forwarded the confirmation emails sent to my email with the hacker's delivery address and their phone number. A new rep interjected that I need to take this up with my bank, which I am, but their lack of understanding that they need to ensure my account is secure is unbelievably frustrating. How can I see charges in my account history and customer service cannot? This is absolutely unacceptable and I will be deleting my account once this issue is resolved.

Utterly clueless "service"

I've used Caviar a few times after receiving free delivery promo codes. The only plus is that they do offer delivery from a handful of restaurants that use only Caviar delivery. But the minuses outweigh this one advantage.

The website is horrible, showing me - even after I've signed in so they have my address and have asked for delivery, not pick-up - lots of restaurants that don't deliver to my address. Except that you won't find that out until you've chosen your food and then go to check out. Ooops! Sorry, the restaurant doesn't deliver to you. Seriously. I've sometimes tried 3 separate restaurant orders only to get the "no delivery" message. Why then show them to me at all?

Another time, I waited a full hour for a delivery, only to be told the restaurant cancelled the order. Why not tell me immediately?

Horrible service, horrible website. What on Earth are they thinking?

This company has gone downhill…

This company has gone downhill significantly. Ever since the doordash acquisition, delivery service is non existent. I have personally had several restaurants call to tell me that my order was prepared 45 minutes ago, but caviar couldn't get them a driver in time. This company needs better management, especially in operations.

Worst. Service. Ever.

The delivery driver was in a rush to leave, so he threw a bag of food at my husband and started jogging away. He forgot a whole bag of our food. He didn't speak English at all, so when we tried to tell him he missed a bag he had no idea what we were saying. He just shrugged and left.

You cannot get a real person from Caviar to respond. I'm out my money because they refuse to reply to me and there is no phone number provided. I will never use them again.

Horrible online security

Horrible online security. There is no 2FA or even SMS authentication. Website is compromised resulting in account breaches. Customer support is nearly useless and will only deactivate your account and tell you to "contact your bank" to recover money lost due to Caviar's incompetence. You don't ever get notified if someone else steals from your account. Do not recommend giving this website your business and personal information.
