Reviewers frequently reported poor customer service, citing unhelpful staff, misleading information, and unprofessional attitudes. Furthermore, many encountered product issues, including devices being returned with new damage, unresolved problems, or even worse conditions than when they were brought in for repair. Do not take your device here, horrible, unbelievable experience

On October 3rd I scheduled an appointment with UbreakIfix in Montgomery Alabama on Atlanta Highway. The reason for the visit was while I was working in my yard I ran over my phone with my four-wheeler and it left several hair line cracks in the phone but was fully functional and when the screen was on you couldn't even see the hair line cracks. Upon arrival the tech examined my phone and turned it on and unlocked it to make sure the code I gave him worked. He then advised me that it would be about 2 hours. My brother and I headed out for lunch and returned about an hour and 40 minutes later. The tech advised me that it would be ready in about 10 minutes. Then this guy Austin came out and said my phone was failing on the antenna for the wireless charging and that he would have to revert the process of the repair. I advised him that the phone had no issues other than some hair line cracks in the screen. They said they would re-run the test but if it fails again they would have to take the new screen back off and put the old screen back on. Austin said that they are held by a contract with Samsung and cannot let the phone go out with a new screen if it fails on the diagnostics. Austin then came out with my phone with a completely shattered screen and pieces of the glass were missing. I expressed to Austin that this phone was a medical device for me and that my wife was travelling and that I work off of this phone. Austin said there is nothing he can do. I then expressed that I gave you a fully functional phone and you give the phone back with pieces of the glass missing and the rest of the glass was just chattered. You couldn't even tell if the phone was coming on. I told Austin to put the new glass on there and I will pay for the glass. Again, he said to me and the other customers that were in the store watching that he could not put the new glass back on because of the failed diagnostics. At this point I asked Austin for the Manager and he quickly responded that he is the Manager. I then requested that he call his manager, and he informed me that there is no one else above him but could give me a corporate number to call. I told him that he is the one that needs to make a call not the customer who is now holding a phone that was damaged by UbreakIfix. I requested that he return the phone back to me in the same condition in which I gave it to them. He said there is nothing he can do and there is no one else for him to call. I left the store but will proceed to take this up with Corporate.

DON'T DO IT

DON'T DO IT. Brought in Microsoft surface pro for potential battery issue. Was told it would take 1 to 2 weeks to check and repair. It took 3 weeks. Was told to bring it with the stylus so they could check that for battery drain. Stylus was not returned. Communication through the entire process was painful. I had to call multiple times and even get an advocate involved. Didn't help much. Replaced battery with generic so I get error messages from the laptop. Out almost $400 by time I had to replace the stylus, didn't have the laptop for 3 weeks and now I have a whole 15 minutes extra battery life. Extremely disappointing.

This place is a scam

This place is a scam. If you have a Samsung product that needs repair, you are better off sending it directly back to Samsung. Had half the screen on my new phone highlighted in a green tint, got a warranty ticket from Samsung to take it to UBreakiFix. Took it in and they said it just needs the screen replaced. Said it would be ready next day, that they had the screen in stock. Went to pick up 4 days later, excuse about Samsung needed pic of serial# from inside of phone and they had already replaced the screen and they were waiting on new parts to reinstall screen, would be another few days. Called to see if ready, said same situation, waiting on Samsung to verify repair. Asked to speak with manager, said she would be in tomorrow. Went in next day, oh, she is off today. Requested my phone back so that I could send directly to Samsung. They said give us until next Wednesday and it will be resolved. Called to see if it was ready, they said no, not yet. Asked to speak with manager, as I was coming in to pick up the phone. Yes, she is here at her desk. Got to the store 10 minutes later, oh, she just left. They gave me my phone back, I went to turn it on, he said it wont turn on because of the old screen was put back on. They had the phone for 17 days and never called me to let me know the situation. I had to reach out to them each time. Terrible customer service. Run around on why it is taking them so long to repair. They're supposedly an authorized repair center for Samsung but can't seem to get them to verify repair?
Take your business some where else, unless you won't need your device for 3 weeks or more.

UBREAKIFIX is an outstanding tech support company

My wife's phone was unusable as one or more viruses kept shooting useless images across the display. She needed her phone as most people do so I took it to our local Lakeland, FL IBREAKUFIX store at the Town Centre and the tech expert fixed the problems in 15 minutes. The employees at this store are exceptional and if you need tech help in the Lakeland, Fl area you'll be happy you trusted this team and their prices are also exceptional. Review for uBreakiFix

Review for uBreakiFix

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at this location today.

Yesterday, I brought my phone issue to AT&T, and they scheduled an appointment for me at uBreakiFix, which was confirmed through email. When I arrived today, I was told I didn’t have an appointment—even after showing the confirmation. Instead, I was asked to leave my phone for two hours and was assured they would contact me or my husband once the phone was ready.

Three hours passed with no updates, no calls, and no communication. When we returned, they casually told me that “nothing happened,” suggested it might just be a virus, and demanded $60. On top of that, I was told it would take only 15 more minutes, which turned into another 45 minutes of waiting.

The payment itself was not the issue—the complete lack of professionalism, communication, and courtesy was. There were no apologies, no explanations, and no effort to treat me as a valued customer.

As a company that customers are referred to through AT&T, I expect much better. Poor communication and disregard for customers’ time and concerns are unacceptable. I truly hope management takes this review seriously and trains staff to improve both communication and customer care.

Day 1, day 2, day 3

Day 1 - I went in to have video taken off a SD card and put onto my dual sim phone. Day 2 - various issues started with my phone on day one after I left the store including not being able to make or receive calls and an extra security measure to gain access that I didn't have before. I was told it was a problem with my service provider and to contact them. How would I contact them if I can't make calls? While waiting for the tech to go back and forth to the back and the front I figured out part of a solution. The tech seemed rather surprised showing his already less than adequate knowledge. Day 3 - more issues that started on Day 2. Phone blacked out whenever attempting to make a call. I was told that always happens. No, it has not and does not. Calls not always going through, which I called their store phone and they called mine for proof. I was told it was something I did. No, it was not. I didn't change the settings other than when I was in the store. Then I was told it was the screen protector. Again, no since this problem never existed before day one. They place the 2nd sim card back in and still more issues. I left out of frustration with their inability to figure out what they did. I started to Best Buy but sat in the parking lot first to see if I could figure out the issue. I went through the sim card management screen and fixed the issue myself. What a waste of time with them. Another customer said she was only there because it was closer but she was going back to a computer/cell phone place in North Richland Hills. She said the drive is longer but worth it after dealing with the unknowledgeable people here.

I took my galaxy in for a repair and dropped it off to return later. When I returned I was told my phone didn't need the expensive part at all. Instead they just put it in safe mood and it was fixed. The best was that I didn't to pay for the fix.

Jacob and Jeff. You guys are amazing. I'm taking every cell phone there from now on.

Took my son's Switch in to get it fixed as it would not power on. Took it in there and they said they would look at it. They returned it and said they could not fix it. I found a very highly rated repair person and took it to them. They said that uBreakiFix worked on it but had no clue. Had missing screws and all sort of damage done to it. Whatever you do avoid them at least the one on High House.

Do not trust them or give them your business

Took my xbox series x in to get it fixed when it started shutting off while online gaming. They replaced the thermal paste and cleaned it which briefly helped but then it started happening again. When I brought it back they said they did the service I paid for and couldn't do more work on it to actually fix the problem without further costs. They suggested that I get a service contract with Asurion because then the repair would be covered with the contract and if they couldn't fix it they would replace it for $100. At $30/month for the contract, seemed like a good deal vs. the cost of buying a new console. I made the mistake of trying to submit a claim before 30 days went by, there's an initial period where you can't submit a claim. Now that the 30 days have gone by I tried to submit a claim again only to be told that because of the problem having been documented before the contract was created it's considering a pre-existing problem and won't be covered. The whole reason I got the contract was to get this repair done, but now they're not going to do it. Thanks for lying by omission Christopher, you seemed nice when I dealt with you but you screwed me out of $60 for two months service contract and the money I paid to fix the xbox that didn't work. Do not give these guys your business.

Broke my phone, charged to fix what they broke

Don't ever come here! They broke my phone, and refused to fix their mistake unless I paid for the repair!

I brought my phone in to the Petaluma store for a manufacturer-authorized battery replacement. My phone had a small crack on the screen, but otherwise worked perfectly. When I checked back in to pick it up, they informed me that an employee had made a mistake when opening up my phone, and shattered the screen. Now, the screen didn't work at all. I asked them to fix it for me, and they refused to fix it unless I paid nearly $200. Obviously, I need my phone in working condition, so I paid just to get them to fix it. But when I came back again to pick it up, I asked the manager to refund the charge. She refused, flat out.

This uBreakiFix is staffed by incompetent people who will break your phone and extort you for money to fix their screw-up, and a manager who isn't authorized to reverse that.

UbreakiFix and their relationship with Asurion Home

The fact they associate with Asurion home protection tells it all. Avoid them and Asurion home protection. Ubreakifix will push this plan on all their customers as a value addd when in reality its a scam and they will not honor your claim. Do not recommend.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! My daughter took her phone to ATT and they recommended her take her phone to these people for a back of the phone replacement. We dropped the phone off at about noon and they said it would be ready within 2 hours. They made her shut off the location of the phone which she didn’t want to do just in case they stole it. They didn’t call or text so she showed up 2 hours later. They said they weren’t finished but she heard them in the back starting her phone and then a commotion started. The guy came out from the back and said she needed to call the insurance company because her phone caught on fire!!!! One guy said he used a fire extinguisher the other guy said he used water to put out the fire. They told my daughter a piece of glass touched the battery and it started the fire. They didn’t want to give her th her phone back and wanted her to stay another 2 hours “to make sure the fire did not start back up”. She told them she had to go. They removed the battery And she took it back to att which they said they couldn’t help her. The insurance (assurion) gave her a run around as well. They are replacing her phone not not for a few days! LOOK AT THE PICTURES THEY DON’T TELL THE STORY WE WERE TOLD! There’s no water present nor residue from a fire extinguisher. There’s a hole punched in the phone as seen in the pictures. They refused to give her the battery as well.

Be wary. Make sure the brand of part you are getting

I went to them in Asheville, NC, to get a replacement battery for my Dell XPS. The brand new battery only lasts 3 hours. When I called them they said they don't guarantee to use the manufacturer's parts. But I went to them because they are an authorised Dell repair shop!
They say they have to keep the laptop for 48 hours to diagnose the problem or I have to pay $80 plus for expedited service.
Since I didn't want to pay them more, I asked my son to help. He ran a battery health report and found that the battery they installed is a new Dell battery. He found that the battery went from 85% to 12% in two hours but said that is unfortunately quite common. He also adjusted settings in chrome that should help it last longer.
I recommend that they should
1) tell customers if they are not using OEM parts
2)give some expectations about what battery life is likely to be.

WORST IN MY LIFE:

WORST IN MY LIFE:

Below is the breakdown:
1. 23-day wait – Be prepared for looooong wait time.
2. Cheap build parts – I was promised “Real OEM” but the store installed cheaper “OEM-style” parts. My 1st screen replacement defective. 2nd incompatible.
3. Price trap – When their cheap build fails, I was asked to pay REAL OEM which costs ~50% more of original pay.
4. Customer service black hole – (3+) calls to get to real customer assistant, (2+) days waiting for a case manager assigned, (9+) emails with no settled solution.
5. Asurion insurance trap – It’ll take 3+ calls to cancel—especially if store assistant input the wrong phone number for my account.
6. Broken devices returned to me – Their “fix” was giving me back a still-broken laptop.

Misleading pricing and poor customer service

Google told me to bring my Pixel here as they are an authorized service location. They also said there would be no fee to investigate the issue. That was a lie. They charge $30. However, they were the only store nearby that had the part in stock that I needed for my phone and that could provide same day service. Since this is a work phone, I didn't have the luxury of waiting several days for any other store to order the part and fix it. The quoted me a price for the repair but failed to mention that taxes were not included in that quote and that they would charge more if I paid with a credit card so it ended up being nearly $40 more than quoted! They also said they would call (my wife's phone) when the phone was ready, in about an hour. I waited until it was nearly closing time and called to inquire the status. No one answered so I got in my car and drove to the store only to find out that the phone had been ready for the past two hours. Rather than call, they texted. When I mentioned that this wasn't very professional as text messages can go unnoticed if the phone is not in your hand but a call would be heard from anywhere, the employee just shrugged it off. No apology. Again, not very professional. In the end, the phone works but I imagine just about any phone repair shop could do that. Next time around, I'll be choosing one that doesn't mislead you about their pricing and that provides better customer service.

It is a business fraud, simple like that with evidence.

I had a battery needed to be replaced with my iPhone. They called me back and said it needed a new screen also because the screen was bent by the old expanded battery. That made sense to me. But when I took back my fixed phone, I immediately realized that the screen was my old screen with the screen protector I put on it. I took back the phone to the shop and asked them that possibility. The guy casually said that he replaced the screen protector for me free. I went back home and googled more and learned that the iOS system can tell you if a new authentic screen was replaced. When I checked that, the battery was in fact new and authentic, but not the screen. They charged me $150 for the so called new and authentic screen for not doing their job. It is a complete fraud.

This place is the definition of a…

This place is the definition of a corporate conflict of interest.

I brought in my Galaxy S22 Ultra for repair due to battery overheating and a burning smell—a clear safety issue. The phone was in Samsung’s Maintenance Mode, which is designed to allow secure diagnostics without exposing personal data.

Instead of investigating, the technician demanded I disable Maintenance Mode without explaining why. When I declined, they performed zero diagnostics and immediately declared it a non-repairable motherboard failure, telling me to pay a $250 deductible through insurance.

Turns out? Samsung reviewed it themselves and approved a full repair for free. The device was defective—not damaged—and this shop never even tried to diagnose it.

And here’s the real kicker: uBreakiFix is owned by Asurion—the same company that would’ve profited from my deductible. So the same entity refusing to repair the phone is the one pushing the claim that benefits them. That’s not just bad service—it’s a dangerous corporate loophole that preys on uninformed customers.

If I hadn’t escalated to Samsung myself, I’d be out $250 for no reason. This isn't a repair shop—it's a funnel into an insurance racket.

Avoid this location, and frankly, rethink doing business with any repair center owned by your insurance provider.
