I wrote a document in Word, then converted it to work in pdf.
1st bug. Their logo appeared on my document. Their Ai can't help me to remove itpaid version. Ai is useless. So, YOU HAVE TO BE CONNECTED TO USE IT EVEN IF YOU PAID.
2nd bug. An entire page of my document disappeared. You can see it on the left side, but not in the thread.
3rd No support, no chat, no customer service. A Fb page, admin approved the post, but don't help.
4. Sent 2 emails. If I don't have any follow up on my tickets, I'll ask for a refund.

I like the plans UPDF offer. Especially a perpetual plan. I think the features work ass good as the competitors but to my feeling a bit faster.
The only downside is that the free version has a pop-up screen to upgrade on every start up of the app.

I purchased UPDF on 12/16/2024 for $69.00. I used it for about 10 days. I discovered that as I was trying it, it was not suitable for my applications. Works great as a PDF Writer, a document editor, or splitter. I contacted customer support and they were very helpful when I explained what I was trying to accomplish and agreed to refund my purchase price.

When I first started using UPDF, I was unimpressed by it. It has now come a long way, and I'm proud to say I really enjoy using it now. At the start, it seemed clunky and everything but instinctive in terms of use. Also, their customer service is grade-A on the rare occasions that I've needed it. I'm glad I stuck with it, and the constant updates have been welcome. A+.

I purchase their product and it worked great for a while. Now it just wants me to upgrade when I do not need to. It will not even save a PDF that i have created.
Customer service is none existence. Find something else

I understand that exist paid functions , but the watermark that covers part of EVERY page is simply an anti-consumer practice, how am I supposed to read when an ugly, shiny watermark covers the beginning of EVERY ONE of the pages?

The customer support is excellent, all my queries were answered very promptly. I would recommend this app. I’m still figuring it out with a lot of help from costumer care department.

I came across UPDF by chance and found the product to be excellent, so I decided to purchase an annual subscription.
However, I was charged for an "AI Assistant" subscription that I did not intend to purchase, which has left me feeling very frustrated and disappointed.
While I am more than willing to pay a fair price for a product I value, the payment process seemed misleading and confusing.
Just before writing this review, I sent a formal complaint via email. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will consider taking further action to address this issue.

Really the best PDF viewer out there.
Excellent value for money. Do not want to use any other PDF tool in my life.

Been researching alternatives to Acrobat Pro and this one rose to the top. I've been using it for a couple weeks and here's some thoughts:

Positives:
- Reasonably priced and still has a perpetual option whereas almost all alternatives require a subscription (a huge positive).
- User interface is generally easy to use and modern.
- Has most of the features I'm looking for in a pdf app (organize, redact, forms, ocr, create from scanner, combine multiple pdfs).

Room for improvement:
- The auto form field recognition is not as good as Acrobat's and does not identify many field areas that Acrobat does.
- The "Create multiple copies" in the prepare form is buggy in Windows (but works correctly in Mac). The copy selected fields sometimes gives errors that it cannot be greater than 1 or must be between 2 and 5 (and similar errors). The copy selected fields down actually puts them across and vice versa (but works correctly on Mac).
- The auto font size in forms does not seem to work in Windows (but does on Mac) and the font stays at one size.
- The border color in forms also seemed buggy in Windows (but ok on Mac).
- Does not have an option to insert pages from a scanner like Acrobat Pro has.
- Does not have the "Fill and sign" feature that Acrobat Pro has. I use this a lot for filling out non-fillable (i.e. non-form) pdfs. It's nice to be able to just click on different areas of the pdf and start typing. I suppose UPDF's text comment tool is something similar.
- The cloud storage and AI is not of interest to me but maybe is to others.

Overall a solid effort that just needs a bit of polishing.

Tried several competitors (pdf gear, Highlights to name the best of them in my opinion) and I decided to pay for UPDF because it combined the of strengths of both fore mentioned apps in a very neat UI.

There is a little thing that I would have liked though... if I paid the software on a website with prices displayed in Euros and I got debited in USD... with unplanned bank fees... if I had known, I would have used another card. That is the only little thing that I would have to complain about.

I've been in the tech world since before mainframes were able to provide users with a virtual machine. When PDF's began appearing during the Internet Age I was flummoxed. Why are so many sources using a proprietary convention that costs so much to use for anything other than viewing? That question stuck with me through the years until now. Finally - an affordable solution for manipulating PDF's with the same options as provided by other non-PDF text editors.

UPDF is an easy to use PDF editor. Even if you don't work with PDF's all that often, it's affordability makes it nearly as accessible as open source software. No more needing to export a PDF to MS Word or some other package for editing and then needing to dump back into a PDF. With UPDF, your use of PDF's will definitely increase now that all that hassle and expense is gone.

Wellx what can I say? It does what you have paid for, and it's even cheaper than Adobe. Great software highly recommended!!!

I've now been using UPDF Pro perpetual for several months and am only partially satisfied.

As of December 2024, and with respect to my workflow, UPDF Pro has the following shortcomings when compared to Acrobat Pro:

[1] Page dimensions are displayed in points (1pt = 1/72 inch) rather than inch or mm. And: One cannot change this!?
Affected are:
● Crop Tool
● Page Properties (e.g. A4 is displayed as 595.2 x 841.9 rather than 210 mm x 297 mm and letter in 612.0 x 792.0 rather than 8.5 x 11 inches
→ Please improve this!
Note: Not affected is UPDF's measuring tool, which already supports dimensions such as mm and inch.

[2] Importing tif images ignores the image's DPI setting, leading to incorrect page sizes.
→ Please improve this, as its a killer criterion!

[3] The page's default view settings cannot be saved with the document. E.g. two up + facing + fit height.

[4] Acrobat's clear scan feature for scanned pages has no equivalent. While UPDF's OCR is good, if not very good, it cannot quite compete with clear scan.
Note: I do not expect UPDF to come up with something similar.

Other differences less important to me are:
[5] Acrobat’s pdf optimisation features are more sophisticated than UPDFs. Font embedding for example.

[6] Acrobat’s “Print Production” feature seems to have no equivalent.

So far UPDF Pro is the second-best* Acrobat Pro alternative I've tested to date, and I've tested many. The reason for buying UPDF is because I no longer get a ~70% workplace discount on Acrobat Pro, which even with the discount is massively overpriced when compared to UPDF.

*) Second-best together with the more than just notable exception of PDFgear, which is superb and seems to be in a head to head race against UPDF.

I've been using UPDF for 3 months.
I love that UPDF is more intuitive and straightforward to use than its much more expensive competition. I gave up on one of the more expensive apps (after 2 years of living with it) and was delighted to find UPDF.
Sure there are small changes I would like to see but nothing is perfect and I have no complaints.

I attempted to make a purchase on your website because I thought the program in this website offered was a free trial. In Korea, most transactions require additional verification even after entering card details, so I assumed clicking the payment button would not immediately result in a charge. However, the payment was processed automatically, which caught me by surprise.

I immediately looked for a way to request a refund but couldn’t find any clear instructions, so I canceled the subscription first. I have not used the service at all since the accidental subscription. I also noticed a “30-day money-back guarantee” on your website, but I couldn’t find where to request a refund. That promise was one of the reasons I felt comfortable proceeding with the purchase.

I am currently a student, and since it is university application season, I am in desperate need of funds. I kindly and sincerely ask for your assistance in processing this refund. Thank you so much in advance.

After spending a long time working on a pdf document i went to safe it and it only then told me i had to pay to safe without a watermark. A lot of time wasted and this is very predatory behaviour. Don't work with this company they use dirty tactics
