Appalling Company- Possibly Fraudulent

Having ordered a Sigma 18-35 lens on the 26th of April I was expecting the standard 3-5 business days for despatch, then a further 2-3 days for delivery.

Based on this I should have received the lens by the 5th of May. The due date passed and I contacted Value Basket to enquire what had happened and when I would receive the delivery.

On the 10th of May (5 days late) I received an email telling me that there was a "hick-up", and that the order wouldn't even leave the warehouse until the 18th (2 weeks after it should have been sent out for delivery). The 18th was yesterday, and when chased repeatedly, asking for new despatch date, a reply from someone senior explaining what had happened to delay despatch 3 weeks, and something to show that this was being taken seriously I have received no new date for despatch, just the same stock response from a string of different "customer service officers".

The previous order I placed with this company was late, but I chalked this up to being around Christmas. This time there is nothing but systematic incompetence to pin the blame on and I have yet to speak to anyone that can offer an explanation. I still have no idea if or when I will receive this order,

I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for any purchase that is important to you. The prices may be lower on Value Basket, but the stress of having your money taken and absolutely nothing to show for it nearly a month later is not worth it. I wish I had read the reviews on this site before ordering and reconsidered.

To highlight how bad this user experience has been, I have never reviewed anything before, and this experience caused me to find a reputable review site, sign up, and spend my lunch break writing this down so that the Value Basket rating (already dismally low) would be dropped a tiny fraction further.

Don't be fooled; shop somewhere else.

***UPDATE***

I have still received nothing, I have not been able to talk to anyone senior despite asking repeatedly, and disconcertingly the "Value Basket" phone number doesn't work. There is no address listed for the company, and despite waiting nearly a month for this order which hasn't arrived they are still advertising this product as "In Stock" and ready for delivery in 5 to 8 days.

This all indicates a fraudulent outfit: be warned by these experiences and do not give your money to these people.

Awful service

5 weeks I have been waiting for a phone with delivery times estimated under a week, 3 complaints have elicited no useful resposes aside from a raft of platitudes and promises of action which have yet to produce any results. Stay away from this useless company!!!

VERY UNHAPPY - DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY EVER!

I strongly discourage people form buying any item/service from this company. I have had a horrible experience which has cost me £300, 4 months of my time and nearly 50 emails exchanged thus far. From avoiding my questions to losing my phone, the service has been unacceptable to say the least.
I contacted them on the 19th January to repair my phone an LG G3 D855 LTE and sent it off on the 10th February, due to delays issuing a RMA form. I was due to receive my phone in beginning of April, which is already quite a long time for the repairs process. We are approaching the end of May and my phone is nowhere to be found.
The company claims misleading information and does not know where the phone is. I have requested a refund but my request has been ignored, they claim they are trying to find a solution but it has been more than 2 weeks and no subsequent information has been given to me. There has been no effort on their behalf in making this process easier, in fact they never fully reply to my inquiries. It is very upsetting and inconvenient, I would never recommend this company, in fact I would advice if you want to keep your sanity not to buy any item or service from ValueBasket.

After posting my complaint on this website I finally received a proposal of resolution. The Company has finally confirmed that they lost my phone and have offered me a partial refund which doesn't cover the amount I paid for and is far from the market value of a phone of equal specs, nor does it compensate for effort and time wasted, in the past 5 months.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Great prices fast shipping

I ordered an Olympus camera from Value Basket for the lowest price I could find online. They upgraded my shipping and I received the package within 5 days of ordering (from Hong Kong - US ) the item arrived perfectly wrapped and protected and the item is exactly as described.

I will say I was nervous about ordering when I saw so many negative reviews, but my experience with Value basket was great and I would do business with them again in the future.

Worst shopping experience ever, very poor customer service

Hello,

I wish I would have read the customer reviews earlier including on other review sites before placing my order. Horrible customer experience ever from the beginning...
484.98£ were taken in a second and went to Gibraltar, so not a UK based seller.

SHIPPING:
First of all their shipping policy below is nonsense:

"When are you going to dispatch my order?
With our Free Delivery service, orders are typically shipped out within 2-4 business days and delivered within 6 -9 business days. Please create an account with ValueBasket.com. After making an order, you will be able to check its shipping status in..."

NO PHONE CONTACT TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE POSSIBLE:
It is not possible to get somebody on the phone, because they keep experiencing technical difficulties with their telephone line in UK, US Switzerland. Didn't try the other numbers, but will be probably the same.

SLOW RESPONSE / NO ORDER UPGRADES POSSIBLE
Secondly slow response, when you try to get in touch with customer service via email and then you receive a response like this:

"Dear customer,

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately, we do not offer upgrades to express shipping at this time.
However, please rest assured that we are doing our very best to dispatch all orders within the shortest period of time and within our advertised time frame of 7-10 working days. After two weeks were gone and 9 working days, this is called SHORTEST PERIOD and REST ASSURED and then this in the order status online:

TICKET MANAGEMENT:
Poor case management. Somehow your password for their ticket management is different from your user account. So you will need to reset it in order to see your open cases, otherwise the links in the customer service emails won't be working. Tickets are not filled in with your information correctly or not taken over from your shopping account to their case management. Had five tickets open and updated them manually with my order number, country and contact details again. Seems this causes delay as well - another point of weaknesses and from my point of view really poor.
80% of my tickets I initially created were untouched and unassigned, so they were sitting in the queue until somebody cared.

NO INVOICE SENT:
I didn't even receive an invoice yet like it is suppose to be after every purchase, especially as soon as the money is taken. Not happy with this delay, because they are not keeping their deadlines. Instead of receiving emails about any status updates, I always need to login to check it online.
If I would have known this before, I would have placed my order elsewhere. My item was already suppose to be on the way latest after the 4th working day, so very disappointing that nothing happened after two weeks and they kept me waiting for an item I paid almost 500£ for.

CANCELLATIONS:
This cancellation process takes couple of day, at least 10 days until your money will be back in your account, needed to cancel my first order, because they were unable to upgrade it from the Galaxy S6 Duos to S7 Edge Duos:

REALLY??? I didn't request to cancel my order and especially not at this state after two weeks of waiting. It will take another 10 days until the money is back in my account. Maybe at the same time I would receive my item.

Unbelievable without consulting me first, these people seem to be doing whatever they want. Easy way out? Really poor! Almost one month waste of my time and my money for interest free credit! Now I need to wait until my 500£ are back in my account, until I can purchase my phone elsewhere. Thank you!

Seems nobody cares. Fact is that I didn't request to cancel order 564901 - 1047200. I requested ValueBasket to proceed to ship it, they just reopened an older case for order 564901 - 1047065 and decided to make this decision by themselves. Instead of answering my request, they completely ignored it and just sent another email by using a template.

I ordered my phone on the 5th of May, will be one month waste of my time and my money was used as an interest credit.

AVOID AT ANY COST. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!

This company is so fishy that FBI should look into this

I ordered a Samsung S7 on April 25th, and it says that the item will be shipped out in 2-5 working days. After paying for the item, ValueBasket just disappeared without a trace. After 12 working days (or 16 calendar days), I got an e-mail saying that they don't know when will they ship it. Since I didn't read the fine print, I was afraid that there might be a deadline for order cancellation or refund. Then I checked their website, they are still selling Samsung S7 and stating a total of 209 phones in stock. Yes, I did count all available S7 phone on their website. That is simply not true. They cannot even fulfill the order placed in April, how can they claim to have over 200 phones in stock. They might have cash flow problems, so they need to take more orders. But they cannot ship orders out.

REPAIR PROCESS TAKES FOREVER!! AND NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER

I bought a phone from valuebasket on the 29th of July 2015 and sometime at the end of march it got spoilt (something with the temperature setting). Now It took ages before customer service finally told me what to do. I spent time explaining my issue over and over again and getting replies at the rate of 1 reply/day. Finally I got the go ahead to send the phone off for repairs, which I did and the parcel arrived on the 26th of April. Now I am waiting for the parcel to arrive their "main facility" which according to them takes 10-15 working days, which means that they have not even inspected the item. At first, I was notified that the parcel had indeed arrived at their main collection point and I should give it a few days for it to undergo inspection. After a few days, I had heard nothing and then I asked for an update, it was then that I was informed that it had just gotten to the return point and not the actual main facility :/ . This brings me to another issue which is that I keep getting false information, at first I was told that there was a free, pre-paid option to send the parcel off, another option which was not prepaid (and gave faster processing time than the latter) and a third option which involved them coming to pick it up from my house and gave the fastest processing time. Upon further inquiry, I was made to understand that a prepaid option did not exist :/. I am now really upset because I thought by now I would have heard something, even if its a refund. Now their phone lines are dead. Today is the 15th working day VALUEBASKET, I hope to hear that my phone would be returned soon.

Problems with everything when it comes to this "company"

I ordered my camera on apr 18th, but after more than two weeks nothing happend in terms of dispatch. I only got status updates on my value basket account saying that they are busy and similar things. I was patient but than when I read the real reviews, not the ones on their website!, I stoped being patient, there is somthing obviously wrong with this company. I tried to call customer service but their line is closed.
Order cancelation started on may 6th. Since my order wasn't dispatched I thought, there shoudn't be a problem for a quick refund. They accepted my cancelation saying:" we advise that you allow 7 days for the funds to be seen in your account". Yesterday I got email from them asking me to use their contact thing because my status was on 'held'. So today my status is 'Cancellation Request Received' as if it wasnt more than a week ago. This is obviously a game they are playing, but I dont't like it and I am going to take further measures if I dont get my refund till the end of this week.

Terrible Delivery time

I ordered a new phone sony xperia z5 compact on ValueBasket. but I still don't have it after two weeks. I assume the new phone is made from Taiwan or China because of the long time International delivery. I am not happy with my first purchase experience with ValueBasket. I sent an inquiry about delivery time last week and was told that my order status will be updated from "Received" to "Allocated" and I found there are still "Fully Allocated" and "Shipped" status labels ahead. I am disappointed with this. So disappointed! Just canceled my order online by sending an inquiry and waiting for response. Honestly, I would have had my new device from other online shopping website within two days. Two days! Two days! Two days! how stupid I was to choose such an unreliable website.

Possible FRAUD

As a lot of people here, I ordered a camera on the 3rd of may and , as today 16/5, i still haven't received any dispatch note.I sent them an E-mail ( yeah the customer phone line is dead!!! if it does exist...) and all I get back was an automatic response saying that my goods will be dispatched soon. Now I need this camera within 2 weeks so I can't wait any longer and as far as I can read here these 2 weeks would be WAY not enough. I tried to cancelled my order but there is no way to do it. So I think that i will go tomorrow to my bank to get my money back and i will report this transaction as a fraud.

Well done valuebasket!! you just get another FAN of your website that will NEVER recommend this website to anyone.

so bad and annoying.

I ordered my apple air macbook on 29april. Firstly they didn't updated my account and said that the they are verifying it. Then they said order is handling, picking and now they are showing order delayed. And it is under priority. When I contacted the customer service she said they received 100 of orders everyday so there is a back log. I am a lawyer and I need my laptop urgently as I have a lot of pending work. If I do not get it dispatched by 1-2 days I will cancel the order and sue the company for the loss which I am suffering. Never ever buy anything from this website. I want my refund.

Misleading, terribly slow and still no goods 3 weeks on

This website appeared in shopping search along with UK-based sites, using co.uk domain, clearly posing as UK based. All values were in Sterling, no indication of the site being foreign. The camera I chose stated "2-5 days despatch", which of course misled me that's the delivery time, not actually 2-5 days to just despatch, because that is super slow by UK standards. These are carefully chosen words to trick you into thinking you will get the goods within a week, regardless of whether it is my own fault for falling into this.
I only realised the site was foreign when I started looking for VAT details, and there were no contact details on this site at all, apart from an email! I only found out it was Chinese from web reviews.
I sent a cancellation request, because I didn't want the hustle with customs & paying VAT on top when I thought it was included. ValueBasket said they haven't processed the payment yet, so they can't cancel it. In the meantime, they told me the shipping doesn't take that long (order confirmation estimated 5-8 working days) and they take of all VAT. I was OK with that, although of course still uncertain whether it is a grey market product. Today is 16 May, 3 weeks since I ordered on 26 April, and guess what? THEY HAVEN'T EVEN DESPATCHED YET!
They only email you back when it is night time in the UK, so communication is limited to one message per 24 hours. The answers are very vague, like "We now have assigned relevant manpower for you to cope with the situation to avoid delay and inconvenience." - What does that even mean? Do you have my camera? If yes, how many men does it take to get through 3 weeks worths of orders?

I am suspecting that right now they are in the middle of studying the drawings for my camera and trying to copy the design, which is why it has taken 3 weeks and yet no shipment!

untrustworthy company

I wish I had been reading reviews on trustpilot and not blindly assuming that their own customer reviews were in any way a true reflection of their quality of their rcompany.
I have been reading hundreds of bad reviews on trustpilot just from the last few days, and it is quite clear that valuebasket.com are not a trustworthy company.
I made the same experiences of delays in delivery and not being given any dates, and getting emails referring to backlogs etc

I am well beyond their stated time for deliveries, and whilst I must admit some of their email responses are quick, these emails only contain hollow phrases like "expedited delivery", and "priority status", but at the same time they are unable to confirm an actual delivery date.

I run an online company and we deal with customer services in a personal, direct way, working UK number, clear and true responses if at all anything doesn't go to plan. I can therefore tell that valuebasket this is not a trustworthy company.
a good company would have a proper system set up and be able to give clear reasons for delays and be able to give at least a rough outline of delivery dates.
all this is possible.
penny smart, pound foolish! I wish I had paid just £15 more buying from a reputable company and would have got my items already
but the signs are all there that valuebasket are operating on the edge of fraudulent operations

I still hope this is being resolved and that I get my camera, but wont hold my breath

Don't ever order here!

I ordered a camera about 2.5 weeks ago. It said dispatch would take about 3-6 days and it would be delivered in 5-9 days. On the sixth day, they said my order was ready to be sent. The day after, they suddenly said they were experiencing a slight delay but that my order would be sent within the next couple of days. Since I found it strange that an order ready to be sent was suddenly delayed I looked up some reviews and found this website. Now, almost a week later, they are saying that they are experiencing a bigger delay, but that they will send it as soon as possible. How? How can an order that is all packed up ready to be shipped suddenly be 'delayed'? Don't put yourself in the position of having to wonder about this and don't ever order with them! I will call them as often as I have to to get answers, and if I haven't received my order within a week I will be calling my bank to get my money back and I will most definitely report them.

No goods dispatched & Cancelation not confirmed. A true nightmare !!!

More than a month from my order of a Sigma 35mm lens for around 650eur after not receiving my order and being switched to the neverending "Order delay" and I find out that's it's the normal for this company I requested the cancellation of my order and to refund me for 2 weeks now and nothing. I created 4 tickets to cancel my order and none was answered. I am seriously considering filing for a fraud procedure with my bank and ask my credit card company to help me get my money back. This experience with this website has been a REAL NIGHTMARE !!!

Don't handover your money to this website

I ordered a mobile on 9th April 2016. Even after one month on 9th May the customer service response included "do not want to commit to a specific date to fall through and disappoint you at the end of the day". Clearly there is no committment and the company has meanwhile taken full payment for the goods and sitting on credit. Further the website has no visible link to allow cancellation of order; which in my opinion is fraudulent and dubious.

Too long waiting for product ordered 25/04/16

Ordered a new lens on 25/04/16. Website states 5 in stock. Money has been taken from my credit card. No lens and this is now three weeks, processing is 2-5 days. The job required for the lens has now gone and with it so has the money for the job. Phone line states they have problems and cuts you off. There is no one to talk too, and to be honest if you did get through from the previous reviews does not seem that your order will be processed any quicker. If I have not received my order by end of next week I will be reporting to my credit card company as fraud.

Low price not worth stress of poor customer service / communication and very slow delivery

I purchased a DJI Phantom 3 Standard drone with Extra Battery from Value Basket, mainly because Google Shopping listed them as the cheapest supplier with this item in stock. Handed over my £416.99 on 1 May 2016 (12 days ago at the time of this review) and still have not received my drone.

I emailed customer services on 9 May to chase my delivery, and was told "Your order is at the processing stage. It will be made ready for dispatch as soon as possible. I understand the urgency to receive the goods asap and can assure you that we're working diligently to fulfill your order at the soonest possible time."

My order status on website currently reads: "Order in Queue: We are experiencing a slight backlog at this time but anticipate dispatch in the coming days. Thank you for your patience."

Their phone number is currently "experiencing technical difficulties" so it is impossible to speak to a customer service representative and find out exactly when my drone will arrive.

This is completely unacceptable considering the amount of money I have handed over to them. I am leaving the country in a week and a half and need the drone for a filming project. I now face the stressful decision of whether to cancel the order and get the drone elsewhere, or hang on and hope it arrives soon...
