We've made a number of hires with VanHack, and plan to make more in the coming months. I don't know if it has ever been more difficult to find high quality software development talent in Canada - it certainly has never been more competitive. VanHack has been a one-stop-shop for us. I'm getting spam Mails from Michael Ruchser without any "unsubscribe" button. I've never subscribed to any newsletter from them and never had contact before.

I do not want to be on any mailing list without my permission! Double Opt-In is mandatory in Germany for mailing lists and similar. You should adapt your strategy to the legal situation of the respective country.

This was a great experience. The candidates were strong and the process is great. One improvement would be to allow for time extension throughout the 5 minutes instead of just the last 60 seconds. I have found myself deep in a conversation and forgetting to extend the time!

Great time with many Companies
I had a great time connecting with great companies. Good points include: some companies are very accommodating and would say it's the right fit, like 70%.
Points to improve: perhaps match the skillset of candidates to the right company. I mean, some companies are just looking for .NET skill but the current event is JavaScript.

VanHack has a deep pool of talented individuals, and great platform for hiring. We especially liked the fact that candidates can leave short videos of themselves speaking as part of their application, and this greatly streamlined the time it took for us to review candidates.

We made 8 succesful hires in 2 years!
With Quicargo I have been working with Vanhack for the past two years and we have made 8 successful hires! What works best for me is the fact that already before interviewing you can get a good impression of the candidate because the candidate profiles are very personal (with videos) and you can have a good sense of their skillset as they are able to make tests.
The people from Vanhack are always involved and check in regularly to make sure the process is fast and easy.
