Out tutor is great. The billing is confusing and they're very easy to get ahold of when you're signing up, the response is a wait when resolution is requested. I am very pleased with the lessons and... See more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Threy will scam you out of your money and give no care in the world about it. I am a college student with no money and just trying to get some help with an exam. I agreed to two months of tutoring services, and then when it came time to cancel, I reached out using their online chat on their website, and they refused to cancel and told me I had to call. When I called the day that I was charged for the renewal, they told me they could cancel the subscription but not give me my money back, and didn't care that I didn't have money for food or rent. I didn't use their service during the 2 hours of the renewal, and don't plan on using the services as they are no longer necessary. They also said they are unable to transfer me to speak to a manager or a higher-up because they only have one phone number and don't do transfers. Their customer service is of no help; nobody is based in the US and speaks well enough to discuss matters with their US-based clients, and the services are subpar. Save your money and time and go elsewhere because their lack of customer service and inability to understand is not the kind of company you want to deal with when you are trying to support yourself or other family members with tutoring

Avoid them like you avoid an Ebola popsicle! They're scammers! They take your credit card info and store it, then they continue charging you month after month, even though you paid only for one month, by the time you realize, they already charged you for several months, now you have to fight them to get your money back. What a mistake doing business with them. Stay away.

Very bad they will take your money and you will not even heard from them again. I will never recommend this. Very bad staff. They do not even care . Just your money.

The instructor strikes the right pace, delivers clear explanations, and makes sure we’re talking through the material together the whole lesson.
I plan to follow up with a phone call to personally express my appreciation, but I also wanted to share how grateful I am. This support means so much to me, especially with everything I’ve worked toward.
I was hoping you would find someone knowledgeable in radiologic technology, which isn’t always easy, and I couldn’t have been matched with a better tutor. Barbara’s ability to explain things clearly and provide real support is making a huge difference in my understanding.
I feel much more confident now, and I truly appreciate it. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
Varsity Tutors does a great job matching students with tutors. After previous negative tutoring experiences with other companies, we were unsure what to expect, but have been pleasantly surprised by how well the tutor clicks with our son. Even more important than a good personality match is the tutor’s knowledge and ability to communicate that knowledge in a way that’s helpful, and our son’s tutor is skilled at communicating and demonstrating concepts in an approachable way. Our son’s grades in AP Pre-Calculus have improved dramatically and he feels more confident with the material following every session. Jabin is a fantastic tutor and we are very pleased with the impact he’s had on our son’s academic performance.
They are a very reliable source for in my case relearning basic writing skills, I would definitely recommend them the tutor I have is as good as it gets. Punctual, reliable and very affordable. I am a 55 year old retired MARINE getting ready for going back to school. The best of the best from my experience
Been a great thing for my child she is thriving
Update: A Varsity Tutors representative contacted me after my review posted and discussed the situation with me and ultimately gave me a refund. They were professional and offered a better experience if I ever return to the service. I updated my review to 3 stars to reflect the refund.

I DO NOT recommend this tutoring service. They are quick to sell you and do not deliver. My son, who has ADHD, wanted to try the service, but it was not a success at all. He was checked out and did not complete(or even start) any of the homework that was supposed to be completed during the session. When I called to request cancellation, it was non-refundable. So we wasted $500 on one useless session, after being promised that they work with ADHD kids all the time, etc…

My initial experience was frustrating. I wanted my sessions with the same instructor but the person that scheduled them did so with two different people.
But all was forgotten when I was matched with Kartik;
approachable, good listener and adapts to different learning-styles.
