Newtownards Vets for Pets are great!

I had a great experience in this vets. Everyone from the first phone call to the appointment was absolutely lovely. So friendly and attentive. My dog was checked over from head to toe and I felt confident that we left with an action plan if the treatment didn’t work. We have been treated previously for the same condition in another vets and I feel vets for pets handled it better.

Rip off merchants

Took my dog for a routine spayed operation. The reception staff are really professional and helpful. Thats where it stopped. Took into the exam room to sign paperwork and informed of £415 bill however there are extras to consider" Confused at what extras needed as at this price all this should be included so I declined the extras. Dog was calm and quite happy to go with nurse so I went into shop and purchased treats and a new bed for her coming home. Whilst at counter my wife took a phone call from the Vet who had an abrupt attitude explaining that her weight which is set between 12-14 kg she was 12.45kg adding she has no waist line and fat. My wife assured her this dog is lean - excersized and walked daily up-to 10 miles + per day. She is a young healthy cocker spaniel that looks and behaves as a year old dog is suppost to be. I was furious with this ladies comments so i went straight back up to speak to this vet to put her straight and remind her her attitude doesn't work with me, this is clearly her mission to fleece me out of more money. I declined and demanded they return the dog. After more conversation the dog was returned totally hyper-stressed and upset to the fact it took two days to calm her down.
I cannot speak for others but I work hard for my money and suffer no fools. Ive contacted another vet in my area and cancelled all dealings with this company. This company doesn't care for the animals walfare its their bank accounts they care for. My advice is think twice before taking your pet to this place as there should be an inquiry into there pricing policies and also their practice as pet owners whom are often upset themselves will pay any figure for thier beloved pet.
Shame on them as they charge what they like to unsespecting trusting customers.

Vets 4 pets in Canterbury Sturry Road Kent has…

Vets 4 pets in Canterbury Kent has provided such a horrendous experience. My fur baby Rosie (Cavapoo) was getting spayed on Friday 10th April. I got a call at 13.25 from a nurse to ask if Rosie had an issue with her front leg as she won’t move it. I confirmed that she had no issues I had even taken her for a walk prior to going to the vets and she was fine. At 4.30pm I went to collect her as I was asked to I was left waiting for 25 mins to then be told she had a dislocated shoulder and couldn’t move her front leg. They had to put her leg back in the socket so she had to go under anaesthetic again. I was beside myself as something had obviously happened to her whilst in their care. They said they don’t know how it happened but whatever happened must have been with some force and she must have been in a lot of pain. The crux of the story is that one of the owners Craig has told me he thinks it’s reasonable to charge me for the pain relieve for the dislocation and he told me that they hadn’t charged me for the x/rays or procedure to put Rosie’s leg back in the joint, he said it like I should be grateful. I don’t care about the £20 or £30 it is the absolute audacity of it and then for him to get the hump with me about it, my baby has been in so much pain she can’t walk I have to even carry her and hold her when she goes for a wee. We haven’t slept properly since it happened. A simple apology and taking responsibility would have been appreciated but to charge me for the pain relief is just absurd and down right disgraceful. Just to add the service was generally bad the vet we had to see the next morning actually had to ask me which leg it was, she was not able to explain the bill neither was the receptionist. I found the whole experience extremely unpleasant and unorganised.

Really disappointed

I am really disappointed with the service at Pets at Home Hendon.

I took my dog in today to have an irritation checked, and the vet said she didn’t know what it was. To find out, I was told I would need to pay £180 for a swab, which feels like a complete rip-off.

We also had vouchers, but conveniently they were not valid here, only in certain locations when it suits them. On top of that, the consultation fee was initially quoted as £58, then increased to £64.50 informing us that this just went up at reception. In the end, I paid £64.50 just to be told that they don’t know what’s wrong with my puppy.

Overall, a very frustrating experience. I would recommend finding a reliable vet elsewhere and avoiding this branch.

Salisbury Vets4pets Impressed so far

I have recently been adopted by my lovely feral tom Stripe, who has arrived with some back, rear hip pain, although only 2-3 years old.
Vets4pets Salisbury branch have been superb, the staff are always so friendly, helpful and caring. And Mo who is vet currently looking after Stripe, had been amazing too. He is determined to make sure Stripe is pain free, as am I. He is such a caring and compassionate vet, and this makes for a very stress free consultation, for Stripe (and me!)
I am very impressed with Salisbury branch :) Sarah

I been think long and hard about…

I been think long and hard about leaving this review, but, have decided to go ahead.
We have 2 dogs, always used V4P, never really had a bad word to say. However, one of my dogs has a lump on her rib cage, previously had Cancer so slightly concerned. Was quoted £250.00 for a biopsy. Wow, 20months ago we paid £161.00. 54% increase!!! This is so wrong, what has gone up 54% in the last 20months, rate of inflation has only been around 3%. It seems as a Cancer biopsy they think owners will just pay ‘anything’ Shame on P4V. I even googled cost of this test, between £50-£230. Again so wrong!

Vets for Profit

This is the third incident in the last 12 months at their Trafford Park location.

I visited the vets to order a prescription 10 days prior to the medication running out, was told the vet would contact me via telephone, I was never contacted, I made three additional phone calls and was told each time the vet would contact me. I visited in person to enquire (without my pet) and was told in order to speak with the vet, this would be a chargeable consultation. I was then told again, the vet would contact me the following day, two days past only to be told the vet has gone on holiday and that my pet is to go without the prescription which is dangerous as this is not a medication that can be halted without lowering the dose gradually. The receptionist then wanted to book my pet in for an examination for an infection? When asked for a more detailed explanation, the receptionist was unable to give any clarification, this is confusing as our pet is undergoing no treatment for any infection and has no conditions outside the scope of the prescribed medication.

We are moving to a new practice as this is inhumane and unprofessional to say the least.

Dagenham meriland Vets at home

Dear vets at home

I am writing to you as I believe it would be beneficial to review your customer service policy for your in-store veterinarians.
Yesterday, my wife took my mother's dog to her appointment due to my mother's disability and inability to navigate, and the vet who was on duty at 2 pm on Friday, 10th April, was the most unprofessional and rude person she has ever encountered.

This individual informed my wife about the reason why my mother did not bring the dog in when it was supposed to be 4 weeks ago. We further explained that the dogs ears were in a poor condition due to my mother's difficulty in catching the dog to clean her ears but due to her mobility issues it makes it hard too. He then continued his rude and unprofessional behavior by asking my wife and I quote, "What is her age?"

Now stop me if im wrong but what on earth as it got to do with him how old she is, he needs to be more professional and have a duty of care for the less fortunate person when they have mobility issues. So I feel you really need to review how your staff speak to customers in the Dagenham branch in the merilands retail park. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Maybe he needs to have some compassion for people that cannot help how they are and what they can do and maybe advise a better solution. Instead of being rude and acting in a discriminate way.

Greedy, greedy, b*****s.

First of all, let me tell you I have no problem with the staff, who have always been first class.
I took one of my dogs to be put to sleep, and was charged £242. That did not include getting rid of the dogs body or cremation!
3 years ago when I had a dog of similar old dog put to sleep it was in the region of £60.
Currently being my disabled wife's carer (and not yet receiving my pension) this bill hurt me.
There are some pet owners out there that simply cannot afford to pay this amount.
What will happen the their dogs?
This greed can only lead to neglect in some cases, by pet owners who cannot afford these bills!
We have always had rescue dogs 3,4,5 at a time but rising vets bills means we cannot afford to do this now.
Vets for pets greed is making it more unaffordable to keep pets. Surely this is a dreadful error of judgement and greed on their part!

Awful service by receptionists

With these you are just a number . They want your money but have no sympathy at all. I used these for nearly four years . I booked an appointment, they telephoned me and asked if I could change it to a time that suits them. I agreed. However for no fault of theirs . I forgot the appointment due to a bereavement when they telephoned. So I missed the appointment. They telephoned and stared that I had to pay £52 upfront even though on a service plan for my dog . Which had never missed a injection or an appointment. The receptionist did not want to know was only interested iny money and would not book an appointment unless I paid the money first even though I was on a pet plan. It's all about the money for these .
I then booked it and had to wait Months so canceled the plan the month prior and still made me pay in full? However I believe the vets that are there are brilliant, however the receptionist could do with some training and learn some empathy. I have decided to use a local independent that seem much better and interested in the animal and the owner ,not just the money . Never again will I use vets for money . The new law can not come quick enough 🤬🤬🤬

Tortoise beak trim

Visited the Newmarket branch to have a tortoise beak trimmed. The reception staff were attentive and efficient and the veterinarian called Varsha was brilliant with our pet. She was knowledgeable, caring and calm and we would happily recommend their services to anyone.

Vets 4 pets fantastic team

Vets 4 pets at martlesham have been fantastic!
They looked after our dachshund so brilliantly.. he needed a lump removed from his eye and his teeth done.
The team were amazing , Joseph went above and beyond (he also helped with advice with our 'recently past' dog 😞 , he didn't put him thru unnecessary heart treatment)
The veterinary nurse Jodie, was so lovely to Yogi , she truly cared about him , and removed his stitches FOC , which was a nice gesture after spending a few £100's op!!!
Thank you Jodie ,and the team for being so kind and caring 😊
