Fantastic treatment from the very start to the very end -by every single member of staff - could not be more impressed or happy with my “both eyes” lens exchange result

Incredibly positive life changing surgery - With a great team from Kieren, Magda, Linda, Caroline, Cheryl and all others. Having had Keratoconus in both the left and right eyes and having worn special contact lens, with eyesight slowly becoming poorer and attending the eye hospital in Bristol for over 10 years. I reached out to the team at Vision Care Clinic and had the laser surgery to improve the shape of the cornea (ultimately in both eyes), which was a little scary, but Kieren and the team gave me great confidence that it would go well. It did. I then had replacement lens in both eyes (as had cataracts). My vision now is so good (20/20) that i do not need lens or spectacles. It has been truly one of the best decisions of my life. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kieren and the team.

I went to Vision Care on a recommendation from a friend .
Since last year I had been suffering from Recurrent Corneal Erosions.
My local hospital were at a loss of how to treat me as I had a genetic disorder associated to this condition which was as a result of Dry Eye Syndrome .
As soon as I saw Keiren Darcy he knew immediately what the issue was and started treatment .
In January 25 I underwent a procedure called PTK , phototherapeutic keratectomy .
It was a quick and painless procedure using laser technology .
I have to say it was uncomfortable in recovery for a few days but Keiren and his team explained this to me .
I followed my post op meds to the letter and I am totally pain free and I have my sight restored .
Keiren you have a very special gift and I cannot thank you enough for my care and your professionalism .
I would also say a huge thank you to Emily who held my hand throughout .
To Linda , Cheryl , Magda , Ruth and Nancy you are all brilliant and your kindness and empathy to me as a patient has been second to none .

I was keen to reduce my reliance on reading glasses and consulted with Kieran Darcy on my options. After assessing my particular situation, including dry eyes, strong far-sightedness in one eye that we didn't want to compromise, and other considerations, he recommended a lens replacement in one eye. His professionalism and clear medical rationale for this option provided me with the confidence I needed to proceed. After a short surgery and easy recovery, I can now read even very small print without glasses. I'm so pleased! The whole team, including Nancie who performed my follow up visits, are wonderful. My introductory meeting with the surgeon immediately turned into an appointment for significant eye surgery. Through this rapid journey I have built considerable trust in my surgeon and the team around him. I did have some post Op complications but these have been resolved effectively. Having moved from an eye surgeon who I had been seeing for over twenty years, the change was a big deal for me, however, I feel I have found a new home for my glaucoma care. There is a friendly reassuring and efficient service of care

I had laser surgery with Kieran Darcy and was subsequently looked after by lovely Magda. The whole team were so professional, kind and caring, particularly Magda and Linda. It turns out that I have a genetic eye condition I didn’t know about prior to surgery which means that my eyes take way longer to heal than most. I was concerned that my vision hadn’t corrected after surgery but the team held onto me for a year patiently checking me every month to begin with then every few months, and sure enough, my vision corrected without the need for further surgery as they predicted. They were just great and another notable thing to me was that they didn’t keep charging me for every follow up visit which is a big deal to me as this is unlike a recent experience with a thoracic surgeon I’ve had surgery with, who charged for every additional appointment even when he made a surgical error, it leaves a bad feeling with patients. So the Vision Care Clinic are really superb and I would highly recommend them for any eye problems of for sight correction surgery.

I had an appointment with Mr Sid Liyanage about an issue with my eye. I thought he was professional, caring and very thorough in his investigations with excellent equipment. I was able to arrange a fast appointment. I would highly recommend him.

The vision care clinic team are brilliant- very friendly, informative and flexible to your needs. The service they provide is extremely thorough, with all the equipment they have, appointments and follow-ups. It is a daunting experience having someone operate on your eyes, and it requires you to put all of your trust into the procedure and especially with the surgeon- I was able to do easily with Kieron. My procedure was lenticular extraction, in which the operation and recovery took a little longer than the norm, but I would highly recommend this team.

I was struggling with may night vision and my eyes were very dry having worn daily contact lenses for 25 years. I went to Vision Care for an opinion on the possible options for corrective lens replacement.
My ophthalmic work up was superb, the discussion about possible treatment options thorough and professional.
I never felt rushed to make a decision.
I was given literature to read about the options and surgery.
I chose the date for my operation.
I felt reassured that the clinical team were the best I could ever have hoped for.
Post operatively my vision was clear, sharp and better than I had had for decades. I no longer need to wear contact lenses or spectacles.It feels like a miracle for which I am eternally grateful.

We were greeted by Linda, who was lovely and talked me though the procedure, the consultants who were involved in my treatment, I found very kind and reassuring, explaining all the treatment required, and ensuring the after care continued even after the issue had been rectified.

It took me 5years to make the decision to have ICLs. Being an optometrist I wanted to do a lot of research and make sure that I was putting my eye sight in the hands of a good surgeon. I have to say Keiren was amazing. He was so calm and professional, and made me feel at ease throughout the procedure and the aftercare. I had to do a lot of travelling over the bridge as live in West Wales but it was 100% worth it. My vision 3months post surgery is exactly what we had planned for. I used to be very short sighted and couldn’t tolerate my contact lenses due to dry eye. Having freedom from glasses has been life changing. I have worn glasses for 55 years .Usually I need a new pair every 2 years, costing £400 per pair.
I went to vision care and had eye lens surgery at the end of June. I could see an improvement immediately and was able to read without glasses. It took a further few weeks for my distance vision to improve but now I have better than 20/20 vision, amazing! And, best of all, no more glasses so no more £400 bills.

I am absolutely delighted with the results of laser surgery on my eyes. Before, I was ‘as blind as a bat’ - probably not fair to bats, but I felt quite lost without help. I either wore glasses (and needed a spare pair handy for those times I needed to look for my glasses) or gas-permeable contact lenses. From the age of around 14 I was at the mercy of my contact lenses which - while small miracles in their own right - were prone to getting grit or dust on them, and to spoiling my enjoyment of lots of small things - going to the cinema, riding a bike, swimming, hopping into bed. The tedium of caring for my lenses and being on constant alert not to lose them eventually got to me. A friend had had laser surgery on her eyes and said it was, without hesitation, a thing worth doing. I finally made it my New Year’s resolution this January.
This spring I researched my options for laser surgery and wound up looking at Vision Care Clinic in Bristol. I am so glad I put my trust in Keiren Darcy and his team. I am sorry to be forgetful of names, but everyone who helped along the way has been courteous, kind and highly professional. The day of the actual surgery couldn’t have been easier or more comfortable. The care and attention was second to none and all my questions were answered.

Eyes make me squeamish but after plucking up courage to finally sort my cataracts out my visit to the Vision Clinic at The Nuffield Hospital turned out to be a pleasurable experience. Greeted by friendly and efficient staff and hot chocolate I soon relaxed in the smart surroundings. Mr Keiron Darcy was completely re-assuring and highly professional and my operations on both eyes totally successful. I am now seeing the world through new eyes, enjoying vibrant colours, long distant views and reading books and music without any strain. What joy !

My husband accompanied me to see Mr. Sid Liyanage about the epiretinal membrane issue in my eyes for the first time this year on 23rd January and again for a follow-up session a week ago. Both times, I thoroughly satisfied with the consistent high level of professionalism in how Mr. Liyanage assessed, diagnosed and recommended the way forward for my eye issue.
