My Negative Experience at Vitrin Clinic (Istanbul) – Part 1 of 2
I underwent treatment at Vitrin Clinic in Istanbul from November 2023 to November 2025. They placed 11 dental implants and fitted 28 zirconia crowns. The clinic promised everything would be completed in just two visits, delivering a perfect “Hollywood smile” with no issues. In reality, I had to fly there five times — every trip fully at my own expense (flights, hotels, meals, transfers, and lost time). This caused massive financial losses and huge emotional stress, as I am the sole caregiver for my 85-year-old mother who cannot walk and has to stay alone during my absences.
Important: Before any treatment, my teeth were completely healthy — no problems, no caries, no pain, no diseases at all. They looked natural and aesthetically pleasing. I went purely for cosmetic enhancement (a Hollywood smile), not medical necessity. After their intervention, my teeth became much worse in both beauty and aesthetics than before. I paid €8,200 in full for the promised top-tier aesthetic, functional, and problem-free smile, as the head doctor repeatedly assured me on November 10, 2023. I never received the promised service or aesthetics.
The consequences for my health are severe and ongoing: permanent numbness in my lower lip (nerve damage — food constantly falls out of my mouth), misaligned bite, constant pain in the jaw joints (TMJ pain), teeth grinding/clenching, and very poor overall aesthetics. These issues have not been resolved despite multiple visits and promises.
On top of €8,200, the five trips cost thousands more. The last trip (November 2025, 20 days) cost: flight €300 + hotel + meals ≈ €2,000 (around €100/day), totaling €2,300 for that visit alone.
Timeline:
1st trip – November 2023
November 10: First surgery — extraction and implants. Procedure 4–5 hours. Excessively long needles (up to 10 cm) caused permanent nerve damage. Lower lip numb ever since — food falls out, severe sensation loss. Control X-ray missed infection. Pain/swelling appeared in Ireland; local X-ray confirmed it.
2nd trip – December 2023
Contacted consultant Maya — response: “Calm down, it will pass.” Refused to schedule, so I flew in myself on December 3. Confirmed infection, removed implant, cleaned, stitched. Unplanned, self-funded.
3rd trip – May 2024
Flew back to reinstall implant. All costs on me. During coordination, consultant Maya was extremely rude and unprofessional — she expressed strong frustration about quitting the clinic in a very harsh and profane way. Shocking attitude toward a paying client.
5th trip – November 2025
After ongoing issues (bite misalignment, jaw pain, right-side defects), consultant Alina scheduled November 5, promising warranty fix. Stayed 20 days. They only fixed left upper side. For right upper/lower (12 crowns) — demanded extra €90/tooth = €1,080. Head doctor called it a “good discount.” Refused: paid €8,200 already, their error, must fix under warranty. Kept promising but refused. I have photos (before/after), X-rays, messages as proof.
The clinic behaves like scammers: extremely polite and promising until they get your money, then rude, refusing warranty fixes, demanding extra payments, and completely indifferent to your suffering and health damage.
I am writing this to warn everyone: DO NOT go to Vitrin Clinic under any circumstances. I suffered greatly from their actions — permanent nerve damage, chronic jaw pain, bite problems, teeth grinding, and terrible aesthetics despite paying a huge amount. I want to prevent others from going through the same nightmare. Such clinics should lose their licenses — the Turkish Ministry of Health seems not to properly control or inspect these practices.

I did research on different clinics in Instanbul, but this clinic stood out the most, my consultant Hana, I loved she catered to my diabetes and what was best for me as a diabetic so I choose Vitrin. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly and made me feel welcome. I would recommend Vitrin to everyone looking for dental work . The staff was awesome I was treated respectfully there was someone always in the room that spoke English to make sure I knew at all times what was going on and what was the next step. The Clinic is very clean I love the bathroom..... But hands down you will be given great quality care.

Very clean clinic the staff are really helpful and friendly the doctors are professional and caring. If any recommendations comments I can mention is for the clinic is to organise visits in the UK to meet with patients before they travel to Turkey this well make big difference.

I visited this clinic in August 2025 to have my smile done. After the procedures completed, including new crowns and a root canal treatment. During my initial appointments, the team seemed professional, and the clinic itself was clean, modern, and well-organized. The dentist explained the main steps of the procedures, and I felt comfortable moving forward with the treatments.

However, shortly after returning home, I started experiencing a few issues that concerned me. One of the crowns became loose and eventually fell out, and I also had ongoing sensitivity in a couple of areas that had been treated. At first, I wasn’t sure if these symptoms were normal post-treatment or if something had gone wrong, but the discomfort continued.

I reached out to the clinic aftercare (Betty) to explain the situation, and to their credit, they were responsive. They listened to my concerns, reviewed my case, and arranged for me to return so the problems could be addressed. During my follow-up visit, the dentist (Dr Faisal) reassessed the work, re-secured the crown, and (Dr Ziya) adjusted the areas that were causing sensitivity. They took time to explain what might have caused the issues and reassured me that they wanted to make sure everything healed properly.

While it was stressful to have complications after such important dental work, I did appreciate that the clinic took responsibility, welcomed me back, and worked to fix the problems without hesitation. The follow-up care helped resolve most of my concerns, and I left feeling that they genuinely wanted to ensure a positive outcome.

Overall, my experience had some challenges, but the clinic did put in the effort to correct the issues and make sure I was satisfied in the end. I would recommend future patients communicate closely with the team, as they are willing to provide support when needed…. Thanks

​The logistics were excellent: flight tickets, airport transfer to the hotel, and daily taxis to and from the clinic. I want to give a special thank you for sending a taxi late at night so I could manage to buy antibiotics.
​The clinic has wonderful staff and true professionals in their field. Although I had one plan initially, upon arrival and after a thorough examination, the doctors took the most serious approach possible to my dental treatment.

Hello my name is Craig Thompson I came to Istanbul all way from Ireland to get all my teeth removed and all on 6 top an bottom fitted, the clinic is state of the art place is like a palace the staff couldn’t be more welcoming and putting you at ease during your visit I was greeted by many staff and was very happy I chose vitrin clinic ❤️ Iv done my first visit had teeth removed sinus lift and then 12 implants fitted and stitched up all of which I was asleep for which was so much more comfortable for me as I’m terrified of needles and pain so was little more money but worth it 💪 I look forward to coming back in march for my new teeth and my forever smile thanks to Vitrin dental clinic. If I could give 10 stars 🌟 I would thank you so much and see you again soon

The clinic is very clean and the equipment is modern. The patient experience is chaotic and off putting. However, the dental staff is highly professional and efficient.

I have had a full mouth reconstruction , from 20 crowns, 6 implants , sinus lift and bone graft the whole process took 3 visits over 11 months and i must say the and i couldn't be happier.
The clinic is state of the art and immaculate the also have a free coffee bar to keep you going during your visit .
The staff cannot do enough to help you and put you at ease from the doctors to the translators ,
But most importantly my teeth are amazing and feel great .
I would like to thank everyone at the clinic for everything they have done for me I have a great smile and with it more confidence 😁

The premises are start of the art… the communication in planning my appointments was excellent…I was seen promptly and plenty of confident English speaking staff.Betty, Dyna and Malika were great….

My first point of contact was Steve I asked a million questions he was very patient and answered them all. We have all heard the horror stories of Dentists in Turkey and elsewhere who do a sub standard job, so I was understandably nervous, but not Vitrin Clinic they were very professional from the moment i arrived and was taken to my accommodation I realised this was a very well organised treatment plan. I was given a price based on a treatment plan in the UK but I knew that it could go up or down a little depending on my initial consultation and scan when I arrived, I was transported to the clinic and back each day, the clinic itself is state of the art and spotlessly clean, the staff are very friendly and an interpreter was always in hand if needed. My Dentist Dr Faisal was amazing he made sure and took care that I felt no pain as a very nervous patient, my work was completed in 4 days I am delighted with my new smile and the price was what I was quoted. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vitrin Clinic I could not have had better treatment anywhere else.
