Great rental experience

I rented a car with Vivarent and, beyond the service itself, what really stood out to me was how helpful the staff were. I needed some information both before and during the rental, and every time someone replied quickly and actually tried to find a real solution instead of just giving me a standard answer.
That’s not something you can take for granted these days—usually with other companies you just feel like a number. Here, I felt like they really listened and tried to help, even when my request wasn’t “by the book.”
Not everything went 100% perfectly (as always happens), but the way they handled my requests honestly made a big difference. If you’re looking for a company that actually cares about its customers, I think you’ll be in good hands here.

Worst car I ever rented, and a dreadful experience in getting the car!!!
The car was rented through discovercars.com and the voucher "Pick-up instructions" stated "Street Rent A Car" as the rental company and Business hours (Monday June 30, 2025) 08:00 - 18:00 in their office in in the shopping mall Hotel Stelle in Naples, next to the Naples central train station. I reached the place on 08:45 and nobody was in the "Vivarent" office until 09:40...
In the meanwhile, I was searching for "Street Rent A Car" as the voucher stated for almost an hour. Nobody knew about that company, NOT EVEN THE GIRL SEATING RIGHT NEXT TO THE Vivarent GUY who finally appeared on 09:40 (that girl was working for another company sharing the same space and – at least – she was polite enough to let my wife and 5-year old son wait in the office while I was searching the whole Naples Terminal train station to find "Street Rent A Car"). Phone number 003939-20484626 that appeared on the Voucher was out of order, and during that hour I was not at all confident I would finally take the car I had already paid for, and friends were waiting for us in Pompei! When I told the guy I was there searching for an hour and his phone was not working he did not even apologize, he only said that I was very early as the car was scheduled to be delivered on 10:00 …
I nearly always rent cheap cars, but the specific Lancia Y was in a very bad condition. It was dented all around, the luggage cover was missing, it would not accelerate to more than 120Km/hour it was noisy and consumed more gasoline than expected (more than 7 lit per 100Km). It was not washed when it was delivered to me! It had many stains on the seats, almost disgusting. There was even a huge bird-shit on the windscreen! I asked for another car but the person responsible said nothing else was available...
Thank god it took us all the way to Rome without any serious mechanical issues. In Rome the Vivarent Guy was very polite, fast and effective. The totally incompetent Naples guy had even written down that gasoline tank was half full when the car was delivered to me, but the Rome guy accepted the photo I kept when I got the car in Naples that proved that it was less than 25% full …

Super fast pick up, responsive via email, best prices on the market and great car as booked. Only downside is that the online booking was not confirmed initially and needed to actually call to sort it out and they did sort it out immediately.

Top notch accommodation. Superb in every way.

The employee requested me an international drive license, which is unusual in other companies. I was obligated to contracted the full insurance package to have my car (i already had my credit card insurance. I felt like blackmailed)

Hassle free rental. Car was great and the staff were super helpful and friendly, can't fault.

As far as the rental company was concerned, everything went smoothly but... do you really need to drive in Sorrento. The experience was hair-raising. Scooters don't obey any road rules. We ended up giving the car back early, and losing 2 days rental, as we felt the risk of death was too great and the stress would shorten our lives anyway. :)

Good communication before pickup and rapid pickup at airport and short admin process. Low waiting time for transport to rentaloffice and to airport. Everything went smoothly both return and pickup.

I initially booked a small automatic car from Vivarent through discover.com. Vivarent car pickup site was a short drive away from Rome Fumicino Airport. However, this was well communicated earlier and pickup shuttle was arranged by Vivarent. During vehicle pickup, counter girl was very helpful. Overall, vehicle was in excellent condition and dropoff experience in Naples was also good. They returned my security deposit within a few days as well. Overall, highly recommended.

Francesco from Vivarent Brindisi is really nice and made our rental experience absolutely smooth and enjoyable. You get picked up and dropped off on request when you call the number provided. Check in and check out was fast and seamless and the car was new without any issues.

No problems, good and friendly communication and service. Would use again!
