From scummers to scummers

The platform which openly and clearly supports frauding. If you read their user agreement, and especially about wallapop delivery, you will find that the platform doesn't have any seller protection at all. Only summer support service. Never send anything by wallapop delivery, cause you will lose your item and never receive any funds. Need more info? Just google: wallapop delivery scum/fraud etc.

Problem with Wallapop Wallet

Hi, I sold an item on Wallapop some years ago without any problem so 2 months ago I decided to sell a few unwanted products. A lady called, bought the item & paid me via her Wallet in Wallapop and I gave her the item. Since then I’ve made several attempts to get Wallapop to send my money into my bank account but there is always an automated message telling be there is a problem with my account and my wallet is blocked. I’ve sent my identity cards but still no one has gotten back to me since my first complaint. Has anyone one else had the same problem?

Was Trying to find an ebay alternative, but holly this is far worse in any way. Awful App. Customer Support are straight incapable to help you in any way. Technical problems, log in issues to scammers. If you look for an ebay alternative, you in the WRONG place.

You WILL be screwed

I SO wish I had read reviews before buying from this crap pot of a website. They did to me EXACTLY what they did to so many others here. Closed my account with no logic, reason or remedy. Their customer service is fecal level at best - they just send more AI generated emails with no real answer. I bought over 20 when I opened the account - school books. Then they closed my account after I paid for them. No way for me to verify delivery, contact sellers, or return defective merchandise. THEY WILL F... YOU if you buy here. Blocked my account cannot access order information

Wallapop inexplicably blocked my account, leaving me unable to access any information about my orders. This situation is concerning because it puts both my orders and the money involved at risk of being lost. Despite reaching out for support, I have received no response other than an automated email promising a reply within 72 hours.

Updates:
#2024 07 20 - I requested the restoration of my account, but they denied the request.

#2024 07 16 - After numerous emails, I received a vague explanation stating that "you will not be able to access Wallapop or download our app if you are outside Spain, Italy, or Portugal." However, on the Android store, I can download the app without any regional restrictions and even select my native country, Lithuania, during registration. Despite the confusion, the support team was kind enough to provide me with the tracking code after several requests. Nevertheless, I am still uncertain whether my money is lost.

At this point I would encourage you to stay away from this platform.

One of the worst web experience ever

There's a gigantic market for 2nd hand products, and Wallapop helps meet demand and offer, but their website, boy, is one of the worst I have seen in decades. The authentication process is faulty and so frustrating it makes me want to create paper ads and start selling items on the street. Just look at Marktplaats in the Netherlands or even Milanuncios; it doesn't take much to create a decent web experience.

Apple Store say this is a 8/10 which makes their rating useless or corrupt. This app is absolutely useless and the company, my goodness, it is bad. Scammers are encouraged by them and trying to get any support is impossible, instead they hide like cowards whilst helping scammers to rip you off. Terrible company. Diffiuclt to access new account

Diffiuclt to access new account, account gets confirmed, can`t log in, account sign in needs to be approved in a seperate email, also lots of Spanish speaking adverts, which is no good on a site that is supposed to attract British sellers and buyers, or at least people who speak English.
Also got signed out automatically shortly after signing up.
No, i will not use this site anymore.

Thefts

Search engine worst I've ever seen.
Try to find one item and results are full of other items.
Did I mention shady promotions where they are offering discounts but only for specific products, and they don't mention this in the discount terms & conditions.
Also you can't upload review after someone block your money for a few days by not sending you the item you bought.
So you are ending waiting 28 days for a money refund after the seller decided he didn't want to sell it to you.

SCAMMER'S PARADISE

SCAMMER'S PARADISE. Within minutes of advertising two items for sale, I received about 8 messages in total (I've had the exact same items on Milanuncios, at the same prices, with no interest shown after months). One of the emails said that Wallapop had received the money for an item, and that I should click a link to receive the funds. The link took me to a page that asked for my card details, including the current balance. I was chatting with on-line help in a popup, and it was clear that whoever it was didn't want to answer my questions about needing to know my balance. Also, I wasn't buying anything! So why do I have to give my CVV number? While trying to contact friends for advice, I was processing a form to Wallapop support. However, when I looked back at previously received emails, I also saw one about suspicious activity. Apparently, my activity was deemed suspicious, and as a result my account was deleted.

It seems support don't know who the genuine people are, and reading these reviews... well, you decide...

Update: 26 June 2023. I was given a ticket number, 12169173, but I didn't hear any more from Wallapop. I also now think that the virtual assistant is a robot, which is incapable of detecting when someone is being scammed (or rather, it blamed me and my account was deleted. That's a relief!)

Response to Wallapop:
1. I do not need lecturing on the aims of scammers.
2. I agree, it is essential that users have a vigilant attitude towards potential scammers.
3. What can you do to identify them [scammers]? For a start, put human beings on the online chat. I kept a transcript of the chat I had. My questions about why my card details were required (as oppose to bank details) and also the balance were answered with things like, "Don't worry, the process is safe and secure..."
Fortunately, I do not need your link to help. You did me a favour by wrongly identifying me as fraudulent and deleting my account. However, blaming the users for their lack of scammer awareness (and when your chat helps the scammers) is an utter disgrace. All the more reason to advise others of the dangers and pitfalls of using Wallapop.

Buyer protection is basically a fraud

Bought a celestron SE mount which looked well on the pictures and seller stated item “as good as new”. I naively trusted Wallapop’s expensive “buyer protection” which is just a honeypot to establish misplaced trust and this mandatory fee adds substantially to the total costs for the buyer.

The mount proved to be in a very poor condition, parts like original bolts, spacers and washers missing with threads here and there totally worn out making the whole assembly extremely wobbly and the leg extensions falling apart when lifting the scope. Also there is very clear evidence the mount and hand controller had been carelessly taken apart and put back together again. And the list goes on and on.

When confronted, the seller acted very immature claiming he is the victim of me scamming him and he started to flood the chat with childish remarks and unprovoked nonsense.

I opened a dispute based on the previously mentioned “buyer protection“ and despite all my efforts the seller won the dispute.

Wallapop based it on their policy and i quote:
“ However, it is not possible for us to accept your request because the reason is excluded from our return policy (Return Policy).

Specifically, we cannot accept returns for products that are not faulty, but only have some defects due to the fact that they are not new.”

Long story short, the fact that the seller failed to show pictures and/or mention any of the defects while claiming the item to be “as good as new” apparently doesn’t matter to Wallapop.
Wallapop’s “buyer protection” is genius (for them) by creating a false sense of security that your hard earned money is safe.
Anytime a dispute is opened, return fees for transport are at no costs for the buyer and seller. But someone needs to pay for the return. So when the carrier is liable for the damage and cover the costs of transportation, you are likely to win your dispute and get your money back. If the seller scammed you, then bad luck for you.

Case closed, i got scammed due to my misplaced confidence in Wallapop. The “buyer protection” is basically a “seller protection”!

Conclusion:
use Wallapop for cheap items or money you can afford to loose. For expensive items use other platforms. The “buyer protection” does not offer any peace of mind.

After receiving a message from Wallapop that they look forward to receive more information, i contacted them and their reply was:

“ We are very sorry, but there is nothing at this time.

We are sure that the message you received indicated our willingness to help you with future issues and to review your case internally. We always do this when a user is dissatisfied to ensure that our procedures are appropriate.

However, it is not possible for us to issue a refund in this particular case.

We thank you once again for understanding the situation.”

So Wallapop just replies to complains on Trustpilot for pretense and fake their high reply score.
Well, Wallapop keeps adding to its disappointment.

Wallapop blocked my account with no reason

Wallapop blocked my account with no reason. I tried to solve this problem with their support but the answer was not even close to my case. They just decided to block my account and all the devices I used to access it. No reason, no comments no info or investigation. I asked to escalate this case with a top manager, but their support said there is no need and just stop answering any of my questions.
Wallapop, you are just unfair company. I didn't get what was it. Do you ban just random persons for fun, or you have something against people of certain nationalities according to your answers?

UPDATE AFTER ANSWER: The worst support ever! I have provided data they asked and they say there is no support tickets, while I watch our conversation that lasts for a week already. Are you sure your support Ada (ES) is reliable person and not deleting all the communications? Just contact me via the provided email if you are really interested in resolving this issue. I can give you all our conversation in screenshots with this so called "support".

Update 2.0: it took 10 minutes to solve my problem after contacting another department of support. Make your internal review please what was that! And thanks for returning your reputation back!

Account suspension, false allegations and potential threats

Yesterday, June 1st 2024, I signed up to the service to sell a phone in perfect conditions, but which I no longer needed due to upgrade to a superior model.

Apparently, at 10 p.m. last night, a hypothetical user contacted me and finalized the order and I, having failed to respond to him within 90 minutes, suffered a suspension of my account as well as direct accusations of potential fraud by Wallapop and that I would be reported to Law Enforcement Authorities! I honestly don't have the words to describe what happened other than to dispassionately advise anyone who would even think of opening an account against them. Stay away from them!

Terrible customer support

Terrible customer support. They hide contacting them in the support pages, and when you do, they cant accept BBVA accounts for payouts due to an error even they dont understand, or they say that your email address has no account associated with it which I have shown them proof of from invoices and my account page.

Incredibly useless. if something goes wrong, they tell you to get lost.

Stay far away. It's a scam!!

While selling an item on their website they contacted me asking credit card information to verifiy my account so that I could receive my money. Instead the stolen me 177€ and when I claimed I'd been robbed they simply said it wasn't them, that it was someone else. What? I'm on your app!! Are you not able to control what happens on your website. Have you been hacked? So what? Where's my money. They said to report this to the Police, and I did, but never received such an awfull customer service.

Do not buy from here!

I had bought several collector products from this platform.
I had issues with adding a credit card, but after several tries, I finally could do it. I had several issues making purchases too.
Today, when I was going home, I tried to access the application and it didn't worked. I tried to login on the browser and it didn't worked. I wrote an email asking if my account was blocked.
I checked the items I've purchased and they're marked as "reserved".
I'm super angry, specially because I've wasted a lot of money and I don't know if I will be refunded or if my items are going to be delivered.
